Error message when syncing for the first time

Sorry if this has already been brought up...
When I first sync my iPhone 3G with my MacBook Pro I get the following message:
"Attempting to copy to the disk "Bob's iPhone" failed. This disk could not be read from or written to."
I have tried completely restoring my iPhone 3G and then re-syncing... still not working.
Anybody else getting this message?

The plist files simply record your user preferences for an application - your choice of default font, say, or the colour of the background, that sort of stuff. If this files is damaged or corrupted it can affect the app in all sorts of ways. When you trash it the app will create a new one when you next start it, and that will be the "factory defaults", but at least it will work.
To trash the fie:
Go to HD / Users / Your Name / Library / Preferences and find the com.apple.iphoto.plist fie, and put it in the trash.
Then start iPhoto.

IPhoto 6.0.6 throws up Error Message when used for the first time

After 7 months since having purchased my iMac I am using iPhoto for the first time. However, as soon as the iPhoto Library is created in the Pictures folder, about 30 seconds later, I get an Error Message stating "An error occurred while trying to save your photo library. Some recent changes may be lost. Make sure your hard disk has enough space and that iPhoto is able to access the iPhoto Library folder."
I have over 165GB on my hard disk. I have tried re-installing iLife 06 from the system disks that came in the box with my iMac. I have tried re-building the library by holding down the Option and Command keys when launching iPhoto. Nothing has helped so far.
I have tried calling the Apple support line, but after over an hour on the phone even he didnt know what the problem was.
Someone please help!

Itis normal and expected for the compuer to see the iPod as a camera. That is how you get phots taken and saved to the iPod off the iPod. To get iTunes to see the iPod:

Husband got everything when sync for the first time... Help

I sync my husband iphone for the first time to my computer. I already had sync my iphone a long time ago. Some how he got all my apps and outlook calendar along with his stuff. What can I do to fix this? He doesn't want my stuff and I don't want his. How can I fix it so we have separate but on the same computer. The computer show two different iphone with our name.

When you copy all of your data from old computer to new computer (inluding entire /Music/iTunes folder), it will sync just fine.
It won't even erase the iPhone.

Does Roaming data syncs for the first time when app data are in download and installation process?

I will store user Id in "HighPriority" Roaming data. When user will install app in another computer (with the same Microsoft Account), app will get user Id from Roaming data. Then I can implement all data sync over my cloud service.
There are 2 scenarios:
1. User downloads and installs app in another computer, but roaming data syncs/downloads for the first time only after several minutes -
It's bad for my app :(
2. User downloads and installs app in another computer and roaming data syncs/downloads at the same time (then I can get user Id immediately)
- Its great for my app :)
Which scenario is real in practice?

Umm no not that i remember. It just randomly started happening. I reformatted the hard drive for mac (journaled) but it was working fine since i did it until now

What can I do to make sure all my information (Notes Included) transfers to my new MacBook Pro when connecting for the first time?

I am about to connecting my Iphone to my new Macbook Pro for the first time. I just want to make sure that all my information: contacts, messages, notes, everything will still be on my phone. I just dont want to connect then find out I lost everything on my phone.

When you first sync with a new iTunes library iTunes will delete any iTunes media from your phone and replace it with the media in the library being synced with. iTunes media includes things like apps, music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, books, custom ringtones and photos synced to your phone from a computer. If you are also syncing your contacts and calendars with your computer it will replace the ones on your phone with those on your computer. If your iTunes library, contacts, calendars and iPhoto are all empty, you will end up with all of these being empty on your phone.
To preserve these you need to follow the steps in the linked article. This will transfer purchased media from your phone to your iTunes library and transfer contacts and calendar entries to your Mac. As discussed in the guide, it will not transfer music not purchased from the iTunes store (which can only be done using 3rd party software such as the ones discussed) or photos synced to your phone from another computer (which can be transferred to your computer using an app like PhotoSync). These will need to done first or you will lose them, as discussed in the guide.

Error msg when running Forte the first time

The first time I ran Forte after installing it, I got an error message. Does anyone know what this means? I got this message on Win 98 and 2000. Here is the error message:
"Some of the set of previously installed modules did not satisfy their dependencies
and will be treated as disabled.
For Tools Debugger ("org.netbeans.modules.debugger.debug/1") failed:
This module depends on Java package sun.tools.debug which is not loaded
(or registered according to theVersioning Specification)."

The same error message appeared when I installed Forte on a Linux platform. I wondered if it might have something to do with the fact that I set JDK_HOME to the location of J2SE and not J2EE, which I thought perhaps might have org.netbeans stuff in it, maybe also the remote debugging stuff in sun.tools.debug. But I'm not sure if I should set JDK_HOME of J2EE and reinstall Forte to find out.

Selection screen value not assigning to the value when executed for the first time

Hi ,
Im My program at selection screen there are company code, vendor account and open items at key date(takes system date as default value).
Facing problem at open items at key date - Open key date parameter is taken from LDB - KDF.
First time when I am executing the program it is taking system date value in the selection screen variable even though I have given the different date.
This problem is only when I execute for first time or press enter without giving company code.
Can any one please help us to come out of this problem.

Thanks, Jim. I finally got it all to work after I closed iTunes on both machines, unplugged the iPad, and started from scratch. To anyone else having this problem, if you hit the wrong thing for "device", it disappears totally.

Cannot sync for the first time, please help

I'm using 3-G4 units, two will sync 1 will not. The one that will not is a G3 B|W unit that I upgraded to a G4 Processor 500 MHz After giving this unit a different name than the others,I can see all three computers in the isync window but when I press sync it starts but stops right away not completing the sync.

It has died. Like a million times. It won't stay recognized long enough to charge. do you know what I mean? Meaning, I'll get the little icon that means there's very low battery, and it's charging, then after a few minutes, it will say "no battery power, connect ipod to power"
And I've tried an adapter that lets you plug it into a wall, and that doesn't work either. I do have an ipod clock radio, tho with a dock... I'll try that tomorrow. If that doesn't work,I might buy her one, because I feel responsible for this. But you don't care about that XD

Ipod won't sync for the first time ever. I am also seeing the cloud for the first time. Help.

Windows 7 operating system. Ipod classic.
Added new content tonight (audio book discs - have done dozens of times before). Went to sync. Nothing doing. Tried two different cables. Noticed that what I added was put in the cloud. I had never seen the cloud before. I cannot get back to the regular library.
Usually when I sync, content on my device that is no longer in the library (in this case the cloud, I gues) is also deleted from the device. That isn't happening. I don't think things are syncing at all.
It would seem to me that it would not be the cloud that would sync, but the regular library, which I cannot seem to access.
Help

I have tried the suggestion to reset the sync log to no avail. Anyone have another idea? This just started after I downloaded 4.3.5.
