Error message when trying to add a printer -50?

I'm using an HP LaserJet 2100M, connected to my iMac G5 with a JetDirect 610 networking card through the ethernet port.
Usually it works, but now when I've tried to reset the printing preferences (often necessary to get it to work) and go to choose a printer, I get an error message: "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer.....error -50."
I've tried restarting, and using the disk utility, but it says nothing needs to be repaired. Anybody have any suggestions? Do I have to reinstall, or will any updates help? I'm using 10.4.3

I continue to get an error message when trying to add Header

I continue to get an error message when trying to add Header & Footer. Therefore I am unable to add page numbers to my pdf. Help!!

Sounds like the PDF has an issue. You can try to save it, close, and reopen to see if that fixes it. If there are no tags or other markup, you could print it to a new PDF and try on the new file.

You should always backup your iPad before ever doing anything major that coould result in a catastrophic loss is something goes wrong. You can then usually restore from the backup when your iPad has recovered.
You should also be sure to have transfered any new purchases directly to your iPad to the iTunes app on your computer on a regular basis.

Bizarre error message when trying to add BT Vision...

I am getting a bizarre message when trying to add BT Vision to my BT Infinity broadband which is due to install on Thursday. I'm hoping it is only due to the fact the order has not completed and will be fine in a week. I did speak to an "advisor" but I helpfully was told the line cannot be checked until the current order is complete and I'd obviously want to know if there will be any problem with me getting BT Vision prior to that!
Has anyone else seen this error message and have any advice? Note that I am definitely not in any trial and the 0800 number is now dead.

Error message when trying to add printer

First my DeskJet 1125c wouldn't print then I got my fathers old deskjet 845c which worked for a few days. Now that doesn't work either and when I try to add a printer, I get an alert box with this message:
"An error occurred while trying to add the selected printers.
"server-error-service-unavailable."
So now I can't print from any of my two HP printers, DeskJet 845c or Deskjet 1125c.
Please advice

You could use Printer Setup Repair from www.fixamac.net to help fix that, too.

Error message when trying to add new user

Hello,
Customer is working on 2005B (2005B 7.40.252 SP00 PL39).
They are working on this database since 2009.
No upgrade was recently done.
when trying to add a new user they get athe following error:
"A user was added outsite the application. Delet it, or preform'Restore Numbering' [Message 3512-7]"
Could you please advice.

Go to Administration--> Utility and select the restore no. series.
Update this and try to add User.
But do it first in your test DB.....

Error message when trying to add transition or won't render anything!

I had been very successful in building a movie with video clips and still photos, and all was going along well until all of a sudden, I cannot add any more transitions! I keep getting an error message that states: "An unknown error occurred. You may be able to continue without any problems. You may also wish to save, quit, and re-launch IMovie HD."
Occasionally, it will let me add the transition, but then it just sits there for hours and will not render. I'm up to a 1 1/2 hour movie, which has taken nearly two weeks to build (I'm very new at this!) and would hate to start over!! I did try making a new movie, and the transitions ran just fine!
I have restarted umpteen times, even reinstalled IMovie HD. I'm running system 10.4.6 with an 80G harddrive, but have the movie saved on an external harddrive because it wouldn't fit on the other one. (It's at 22 G now!!)
Any suggestions??

I spoke too soon. I began a new movie and imported
photo clips, which rendered just fine. However, I
can drag transitions in between the photos, but they
simply will not render. Everything was just swell
until yesterday afternoon when I changed the length
of the clips so that there would be enough room for

same time, but they never rendered. It was then when
I was unable to add any more transitions.
Aha! That may be different problem. There's a bug in iMovie that makes it impossible to update image clips after you empty the iMovie trash. If you imported the image with the Ken Burns checkbox ON, the bug can affect you later.
It's possible, I suppose, that this bug not only prevented you from updating the clips to a new duration, but made it impossible to add the transition to the clips.
After importing your images with the Ken Burns checkbox on, you might try dragging the source image out of the iMovie trash, described here:

Hi I went to transaction cs05,and trying to add item to specific material with BOM group,an error message popped up and saying assign the item to an alternative,what does it mean? How to solve?

Hi,
A finished material can have multiple alternative BOMS which can be stored in a common BOM group number. CS05 is used to change these multiple boms.
When you add a new item in CS05, system will ask - to which alternative bom the new item should be assigned and that's how you are getting this message. For example, if in a bom group you have 3 differnet alternatvie boms for a FG material, when you add new item in CS05, you will see 3 checkbox at the right hand side of the screen. If you want to assign new item to all the three alternative BOMs , than select all the three check box and save.

When I try to add my Apple ID to Facetime or iMessage, I get an error message "username or password is incorrect " even though its the same username and password I use for everything else.

The Order has got 5 lines. First 4 lines are product lines and the 5th line is a service.
We have a customized form called mass order change which will bring only the product lines when we query a order. We usually do the mass update of shceduling date
and promise date in that form for all the order lines or for some perticular lines in that order.
For one order when i tried to update the scheduling date and promise date its showing this message. Not sure why??.. i have checked the form logic and the package which this form is using but all of them are calling the standard API process_order to change the sales order. I found out that This message is a standard Oracle message : OE_SCH_OVER_ATP_NO_SCH_ACT. I tried to find this message in process_order API but could'nt find this message. status of these 4 lines are : Awaiting Shipping

Error 9672 when trying to add a printer via ae?

I have tried to add my HP Photosmart C4100 All-in-one to my "bonjour" network to use it with airport express, but I keep on getting a 9672 error and the printer is not added.
I was wonder if anyone could guide me through the process of setting this up.

Error message when trying to use the Print module in LR

I am exerperiencing the following message 'an error occured when tryin to change modules' whenever I try and get into the Print module in LR. Any ideas? I have a printer attached to my MAC so have no idea why I am getting this message. Thanks for any suggestions.

It's possible that one of the print template has become corrupted. Removing the templates then putting them back one-by-one usually identifies the one that's causing the problem.
The easiest way of finding the Print Template folder is via the Lightroom preferences panel - choose "Show Lightroom Presets" from Presets panel then navigate your way to the Lightroom folder.

Getting an error message when trying to add book to iPod?

Almost every time I try to add a book to my iPod touch from my computer, I get an error message that says "Attempting to copy to disk failed. A duplicate file name was specified." And then another pop up comes up that says "Itunes could not copy because an unknown error occured (-48)."
This has only started happening since I updated iTunes on my computer about 2 weeks ago and it happens 4/5 books that I try to add. As soon as I drag the book onto my iPod on the left of the screen, it comes up. Any ideas on why this is and how I can fix it?

Unexpected error message when trying to download the printer software

Hi I have just bought a hp deskjet all in one printer and i am unable to download the software installation for the printer.
I have tried doing this on my hp chromebook and Iphone 6 but i keep receiving the same message:
It seems that there was an unexpected error downloading the software for your printer. Please check back later or you can insert the CD and choose the option No thanks, i prefer the base CD installation when the first screen appears.
The problem is i dont have a CD drive on my chromebook to complete this. Can you advise me what else i can do to complete installation and set up the wifi on my printer?

Hi Caroline,
For the Chromebook, you will not be able to print via an iOS device, that will require a computer.
For the iPhone and iPad devices You may print by connecting the printer to the wireless network.
As there is no standard computer available, there are two options to connect the printer to your wireless router.
Option one is to use WPS if your router support a such, the steps can be found below:
Method one: Push button
Follow these instructions to connect using the Push button method on your printer control panel.
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button () for more than three seconds. The Wireless Status light starts blinking.
Press the WPS button on your router. The printer begins a timer for approximately two minutes while a wireless connection is established.
Method two: PIN
Follow these instructions to connect using the PIN method on your printer control panel.
On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button () and the Start Copy Black button ( ) at the same time. The Network Configuration page prints.
Find the WPS PIN printed at the top of the page.
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button () for more than three seconds. The Wireless Status light starts blinking.
Open the configuration utility or software for the wireless router or wireless access point, and then enter the WPS PIN.
note:For more information about using the configuration utility, see the documentation provided with the router or wireless access point.
Wait about 2 minutes. If the printer connects successfully, the wireless light stops blinking but remains lit.
If your router does not support WPS, temporary connect the Chromebook to yoru printer and use the EWS page to connect the printer to your router:
On the printer's control panel, press and hold the Wireless Direct button () for 3 seconds. The Wireless Direct setup instructions print.
From your Chromebook connect to the printer, the network name and the password are listed in the printed sheet.
Open Google Chrome and browse to http://192.168.223.1/
Open the Network / Wireless tab and follow the Wireless Setup Wizard by selecting your router and providing the password.
Once you are done reconnet the Chromebook to your router to have internet access again.
That WILL NOT allow printing from the Chromebook as another computer is required or an ePrint enabled printer, however you should now be able to print from the iPhone or iPad.
