Error message when trying to scan to email or fax

when I try to scan to email or fax i get this message:
"secure connection to SMTP server could not be established..."
I didn't have this problem when I first got the laserjet pro 200 m276.
any thoughts on how to remedy>

I see by your post that you are getting the error "secure connection to SMTP server could not be established" when trying to scan to email or fax. I can help you with this.
I have provided a document to check your scan settings. You might have to run the wizard again.
How to Scan: From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a PDF, and to a Network Folder).
Click on Scan to email.
This document is for Cannot Send or Receive Faxes to go through to resolve the fax issue.
What email provider and email program are you using?
What operating system are you using?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you are getting a connection error when trying to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 7520 printer.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. I have included a link to another post that has the steps with screen shots on how to do this. Don’t worry that the screen shots are for a Photosmart 7510, the steps are the same.
If after setting the manual IP address and DNS servers you are still getting the same error message, please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

Error message when trying to scan

My printer all in one doesnt scan. The error message I receive is "Scan Error - Try scan from computer or see documentation - Press ok"

Are you using the USB cord or wireless? IF you can use USB then be sure to connect it.
So, did you try scan from the computer to see if it works?
I have always found it better to scan from the computer than the printer itself.
Do you have the full feature driver/software installed for Window 8? If so was it from the CD or the download from the HP support site. I would first make sure I have this updated. Driver downloads here.
Then go to this trouble shooting page and scroll down to Solution Two-Step Two and look for “Scan to…setup” and follow the instructions.
If it’s still not working, try this next:
Do you have multiple instances of that printer showing up in the HP Solution Center?
If so remove the copies of the printer. Go to this link and choose Windows 7 under HP Solutions Center for info to remove the duplicates from the device manager.

I am receiving an error message when trying to send an email.

I recently had to change my email password. Now when trying to send or forward a message on my Iphone 4s I am receiving an error that my user name or password is incorrect. My phone service is through AT&T and email is embargmail.com.

Where did you change the password? Did you go into the email account on your phone and change the password as well? You need to check your SMTP settings, as that is what controls sending mail. If you get an error when trying to receive mail, that is the incoming server.

Pixma MG2520 error message when trying to scan

Every time I try to scan a picture with my Pixma MG2520 it gives me the error message "You do not have the required privileges to access the specified folder. Code:9,244,3" It was working fine when I first bought it 10 days ago and I scanned about 700 pictures. Now this error code keeps coming up every time that I click on "Photo Scan". I am using Windows 8.1 on an Asus laptop. When this code came up last time I just took the printer cartridges out and put them back in and it worked fine, but this time that did not work. I do not use my printer for printing, I only use it for scanning. What can I do??

Get error message when trying to scan slides

HP Scanjet G4050. Latest drivers. Now up to 10.6.8 and when I try to scan slides or negatives, I get an error message: "Remove any objects from the scanner glass. Load your slides and negatives. Try scanning again."
I have scanned in the past. Is this a problem with 10.6.8? I have heard of printing problems with it. Should I revert to an earlier version of the OS?

Make sure your lid is pushed all the way down. I had the same problem, then I noticed a gap between the lid and base near the hinges. I opened the lid fully, pulled it out (straight up) then pushed it back down firmly. Works fine now. (Using OS X 10.7 with update from HP)

Receiving an Error message when trying to send an email

Help
All of a sudden whenever I try to send an email I receive an Error message stating it cannot be delivered. The message suggests verifying addressee, checking SMTP server settings and verifying any advanced settings. I have tried different addressees, and all the information in the Mail Preferences looks accurate to me. Any ideas what could be causing this? It just started happening.
Any info is greatly appreciated

Hi Susan,
Many ISPs have recently started blocking outgoing (smtp) mail via port 25 that doesn't use their own smtp server. (This is to try and combat spam).
There are generally two ways to overcome this:
1) Use the smtp server of the ISP that you are currently connected to. (If you have a laptop and connect from different places this may mean you have to select an appropriate smtp server at each location.)
2) Connect to your preferred smtp server on a port other than 25. This will depend on the setup of that server. For instance the Apple .Mac smtp server allows connections on port 587 (reference Apple support article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75124)

When performing / attempting a scan, I get a scan error at the printer,scanner, ( try scan from computer or see documentation, Press okay ) when I attempted to do it from my MacBook Pro ( Mac OS X 10.6.8) I get this error message, ( An Error has occurred). Thanks for your help.

Have an error message when trying to scan photos

I get the following message when scanning using Element 6:
Failed to obtain files from device. The file size exceeds the maximum size allowed. To decrease the file size, ry reducing the image resolution or dimensions.
Do I need to get a higher resolution scanner? I'm trying to scan a picture at 1200 pixel.

Error Message when trying to open my email inbox

Hi,
I have been using email on my 6230i for few months without problem. I can still connect to recieve emails on my phone, but as soon as it starts to download I get an error message and then the option to dismiss. Once you click dismiss I get a blank screen. The same happens if I try to open my inbox or sent items folders.
Can anyone suggest anything?

It doesn't say unfortunatley.
It just says error and there's a red flashing stop sign. It doesn't give you any further information, your only option is to dismiss. Which, as I said, leaves you with a blank screen!

I get an error message when trying to view yahoo email. It says to wait awhile and try again. It continues to do this. How can this be resolved?

If I keep my email open (yahoo) then after a while it get the error message below and can no longer read or send mail until I close firefox and reopen. Why am do I constantly get this message?
"An unexpected problem has occurred. Performing your action again in a few moments will probably solve the problem. If it persists, we suggest you close this window and re-launch Yahoo! Mail."

Printing error message when trying to print an email from Outlook 2010

I am having an issue with a client machine. The user is using windows 7 pro and office 2010 pro. This issue i am having is when you go to open an email that you need to print i get the following error "the item could not be found".
It does not make any difference if the printer is a local or a network printer. I have tried creating the profile again and still get the same problem. The problem is machine based and not user based. How can i get around this. At the
moment the user is having to copy and paste the message into word when they are then able to print it. It only seems to effect outlook and not other Office applications

If you recreated the Outlook profile and still got the same problem, please try to recreate the Windows Profile:
Log on to client using local admin account->rename the profile folder under c:\users.
By the way, did you try to print the mails in OWA?

Can see list of old emails, but error message when trying to view message.

Ok, after a Mail crash (10.4.1), there were no accounts listed and of course no old emails, sent or in the inbox, were visible.
We reentered all the account info, as if we were starting anew, and now we are able to see the list of all old emails in the inbox and sent mailbox, but when we click on any message before the crash, we get this error message:
The message from David Crandon, ([email protected]), concerning (the subject of the email), has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take the account online in order to download it.
Now, obviously, the accounts are online because we can send and receive new emails with no problem, and of course, the old emails aren't going to be on the server anymore.
Can anyone help?

Well, didn't work. I spent an hour and a half just trying to get my 76yr old uncle to back able to drag and drop into the correct folder, and then trying to find the file when he didn't....!
Anyway, it didn't work. After removing the Envelope Index file, and reimporting the messages, everything was the same. He could still see all his old emails in the list in Mail, but got the same error message when trying to view them.
Then, we rebuilt the inbox, and now none of his old messages are visible! However, they are still on the computer.
All his old emails are ".emlx" files and if we click directly on one of them, then Mail will launch and display the message properly in it's own window. But again, we get the above error message if we try to view it by selecting it from the message list in mail.
One interesting thing...in the Library->Mail folder their are two folders, "Mailboxes" and "Mailboxes.mbox". Both at the same level. It's the Mailboxes.mbox folder that has all his old emails. Although all the old ones have the suffix ".elmx". In the Mailboxes folder are all the new emails since we reset all the prefs in Mail after the crash a couple of days ago.
Anymore help please to get mail to recognize all these old emails?

This problem has been driving me demented. The instructions that Ivan gives have partially worked for me. By following his link
"How to find out if you have multiple Apple IDs" I was able to identify that yes I did have two apple accounts using the same e mail address. One was very old that I used to use for the forum boards and one is my much more recent ID that I use for everything these days. So I changed the e mail address for the old account which is associated with these discussion boards and that's the account that I am now posting this from. However even though the two accounts now have different e mail addresses when I try to log onto the boards with my more recent main apple ID I still get all the same errors as described at the start of this thread by rodgers_j. And of course that's the one I want to use so that I only have one itunes account for everything.
So if anyone has any more hints I'd be very grateful.
