Error message while attaching file to email
When attempting to attach a file to an email, I got the following error message: an error occured while sending mail.

In order to attach a file in an email - the app it self must support it. For instance, you can email a Photo in the Photos app by selecting the photo that you want to email and then tap the curved arrow icon in the upper right corner and select the email option.
Apple's Pages for the iPad allows you to email files as well - but you have to do it from the Pages App itself. Other apps also support the feature but as Meg explained, you can't attach a file in web mail - at least I haven't seen how to do it.

just incase someone needed that. oh yes,i can also receive mail, but i just can not send any emails. i was trying to send an email to a "gmail" acct,and i also attached a 2mb pic.thank you to anyone who can assist me.This error message indicates your ISP blocks the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network (or not provided by the ISP) on Port 25 which is the default/common port used by SMTP servers. Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated SMTP server only that is outside of their network (such as the .Mac SMTP server) on Port 25 but some block its use regardless.
These restrictions are in place as part of an overall effort to prevent spam emanating from the ISP's domain.
Are you also accessing an email account with the Mail.app that is provided by Cox and if so, are you able to send messages with this account?
Something to try.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button for the .Mac SMTP server.
Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
If this doesn't resolve it and you aren't accessing your Cox email account with the Mail.app, you need to create your Cox email account in Mail or at least add Cox's SMTP server and select/use Cox's SMTP server to send messages with your .Mac account which is invisible to all recipients. -
Error messages while executing File - RFC - File.

I am doing a File - RFC - File scenario from Raj's blog.

I am getting series of error messages.
Someone please drive me in the right way. I am following each and every step in the same way mentioned there.
1. Everytime the file is picked up, i can see 3 messages in Moni. One from File - RFC. 2 messages from RFC - File. I changed the sender QOS with BE and EO and EOIO. but all the time it shows 3 messages. Why are 3 messages executing for this scenario? what should be QOS on the sender File CC?
2.. It throws a error message in response message for WS - RFC as .... RFC Adapter application error.
I re created CC, re imported RFC, searched for that erorr message in sdn and followed everything. no luck
3. Of the other 2 messages in MONI (RFC - WS), one of them shows error messageg as 2 and the other one shows a error message that Interface mapping does not exist in run time cache.
I re created IR objects again, I created MI for RFC which I dint do earlier, I re mapped, activated, did all cahce refreshes in SXI_Cache, CPA delta and full cache refresh.
But still it shows up the same error message.
Can you guys tell me whats bad going on with my scenario?

It seems there might be a problem in RFC Adapter. Can you see the error in Communication channel Monitoring what error it is showing. Probably the communication between PI and SAP might be a problem. If you put the error here, somebody might be able to help you out.

Error message while deleting files from the tracker
I deleted four files from Acrobat.com before removing them from the desktop tracker and now I don't seem to be able to remove them or stop collecting data on the files in the tracker. Am I missing something or is there not a way to get rid of them?
Rufus ChaneyPlease try again after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already taken.
Step 1
Reset your computer’s PRAM.
Step 2
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications of the machine.
Step 3
Back up all data to at least two different storage devices, if you haven't already done so. One backup is not enough to be safe. The backups can be made with Time Machine or with Disk Utility. Preferably both.
Erase and install OS X. This operation will destroy all data on the startup volume, so you had be better be sure of the backups.
Step 4
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider to have the machine tested. -

Help...It sounds to me like your Internal Hard Drive is failing.
I recommend you buy a new one, that is a good candidate for replacing the old one, but install it in an External enclosure and Install a fresh Mac OS X on it from the DVD. You can boot your Mac from any attached drive.
The new System can be used to get some work done, check your emails, and takes the pressure off resolving this immediately. You can also attempt to salvage files off the old drive if needed.
Once things seem to be working, then move the new drive inside the computer. Failures at this point may be due to bad cable, which has been a problem in some of these MacBooks.
Use security erase, write Zeroes, one pass, to re-write every block on the old drive. Any block discovered to be bad will be replaced with spares the drive holds in reserve for this purpose. If more than 10 blocks are pared on one pass, "Initialization Failed!" will be the result. Although you can try the erase again, there is some question whether you want to trust this drive with your precious data. -
While trying to update Motion 5.0.2 I continuously reviece this follwoing error message.
The file “InkBleed03.mov” couldn’t be saved in the folder “Particle Images.localized”.
Motion will not allow me to update.

My HD is a "normal" HD, so I guess it's HFS+. (According to Disk Utility it is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
The NAS is WD MyBook Live Duo. I just plugged into my Time Machine.
I am relocating using Aperture "relocate originals for project" under the File tab.

Yes, I am trying to relocate them, but tried different things to find the problem.
And the problem seems to be that when an image gets an extra attribute (when it's downloaded from the internet, when it is comes from a mail message) then Aperture seems not to be able to move the file.
I.e. Aperture presumeably asks the Finder or kernel to perform this task, and this then fails because of the extra attirbutes that were set.
I now found a way of manually removing the extra attributes, but that is a pain.
Think of this normal workflow:
- someone sends me an email containing images
- I move the images to my Desktop
- I then import the images into Aperture
- I then decide to relocate my images for that project to my NAS
Then is when this problem occurs.
So I just tried to relocate to another place on my HD.
That works fine.
I looked again at the error message.
And it says "could not set attributes com.apple.metadata:kMDItemDownloadedDate on destination file descriptor" .
So, yes, it seems like it has to do with the NAS not supporting setting the extra attributes.
And as long as there are no extra attributes on an image, there is no problem.
(Not completely true, but I have another thread about that)

My Time Capsule has stopped backing up.
I have an Apple Time Capsule which backs up by wireless. For the last 3 days it has not backed up. I get this message:
"The backup was not performed because an error occurred while copying files to the backup disk."
I have gone into Mac Help and followed this down to stage 4:
under shared it lists my time capsule and my husband's iMac - both use the time machine but we have switched his off temporarily. Clicking on my Time capsule I get "Connected" and "Sharepoint" - I didn't have to enter connect or password
I don't understand stage 5: how and where do I select the disk or volume that contains Time Machine backups ? How do I know which it is? My disk utility lists 160.04 TOSHIBA MK... with sub-heading Macintosh HD. It also lists (with a "CD" icon) HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS22N
Under stage 6, how and where do I Locate your backup ? I try dragging my Time capsule from Finder to the Disk Utility side panel but it won't go. What is my computer's name?
Please someone help! I'm completely stumped.

And how are you spawning the php instances? I don't see that in the daemons array anywhere.
EDIT: It looks like the info in that page is no longer using pre-spawned instances, but lighttpd adaptive-spawn. The documentation has been made inconsistent it looks like.
You will note that with pre-spawned information, the config looks different[1].
You need to do one or the other, not both (eg. choose adaptive-spawn, or pre-spawn..not both).
