Error message while installing Application Server 10g 10.1
I downloaded Application server 10g 10.1. Unzip it into a directory. Right at beginiing of installation, it gives the following:
ERROR "There are no patches that need to be applied from the Patchset Oracle Application Server Patchset 10.1.3.4.0"
Please, kindly provide me with a clear, step-by-step installation guide. Operating system environment is WindowXP
thanks.
Please make sure that you downloaded the right software cd's and not the patchset CD.
Also, next time, please give your product version numbers and types with detail. 10g and 10.1 is not sufficient to recognize your product in the really broad range of creatures under 10g.

Installing Application Server 10g R1
Hi Experts,
whil installing application server 10g R1, I am facing below warning
=============================================
checking operating system certification+
OUI-11101: Mandatory attribute 'value' missing from glibc
=============================================
I check and glibc is available,
Please advice.
RegardsI'm not familiar with OAS certifications with regard to Business Intelligence Published but let's assume that you need to install 10.1.2.3.
First of all you need to ensure that your system meets the requirements listed in Table 1 from the certification document in my previous post. Once you have done this, you may want to use My Oracle Support document [url https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=329361.1]329361.1 for further patching info for 10.1.2.3.
Thanks,

Installing Application Server 10g 2 on Unbreakable linux
Hello all,
I wish to install Application Server 10g 2 on Oracle Unbreakable Linux EL5. Could someone please let me know if there are installation instructions for the App Server on EL5?
Also, when I go to [http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101202.html] to download release 2 for Linux x86, the tooltip has the file named as "as_linux_x86_portal_wireless_101202_disk1.cpio". Does anyone know if this is actually the App Server???
Last, but not least, I downloaded disk 1(I'm assuming it's the correct software) and tried to "unzip" it in /home/oracle to run the Universal Installer and Oracle Unbreakable Linux doesn't recognize the file extension .cpio. So my last question then would be is Oracle Unbreakable Linux even a suitable version of Linux to install the App Server on? Because it seems strange that the software Oracle has on its website can't even be opened on their own flavor of Linux.
Any help answering my questions will be appreciated.
-Thank You,
David WrbelisHi,
I did just a while ago.
If you got a joice, use Unbreakable Linux 4 (RHEL4), 10g2 on Unbreakable Linux version 5 is not officially supported by Oracle!
At least my Server was complaining about the system. After extracting the .cpio you can either use
./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs
or go to redhat-release file (I'm not sure in the moment, I believe its /etc/redhat-release) and set it to version 4 instead of 5 until installation is done.
You will get an error during installation, when it appears rename libXtst.so.6.0.0 to libXtst.so.6.0 and press retry, the installation will finish successfully.
You might get an error that opmn could not start. Start it manually, the error won't appear, you can ignore it (press continue).
Your config wizards should ALL be successful!
About the file you downloaded, I was using a different one, since I only needed Forms and Reports service, you might want to have the full Server, so there are more than one correct downloads for 10g2. You need to look carefully what features you need or load full version (which would be several cds I believe).

Downloading and installing Application Server 10g R3
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to download Oracle Application Server 10g R3 and when I open the Oracle link to choose the download option I notice that there's many options to choose. Where I have my Oracle database installed the operative system that I'm using is Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition 32 bit, so which option should I choose to download the Application Server? The one that says: Oracle SOA Suite 10g (10.1.3.5.1) for WebLogic Server (10.3.1) or Oracle SOA Suite 10g (10.1.3.x)?
After having the right application to install, where am I suppost to install Application Server 10g R3? In the same server where I have my Oracle database or should I use another server for this purpose?
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks in advance!!hi,

Why OracleAS 10.1.3.x version doesn't have OracleAS Infrastructure components?Because not all OAS releases were complete software versions. By complete software versions, I mean they were not a software version where each component (like Identity Management, Portal, BI, SOA Suite, etc.) would have an updated version.
OAS Release 2 (10.1.2.x.x) was a complete release but OAS Release 3 (10.1.3) was not. After release 2, Oracle Fusion Middleware OFM 11g is now a complete release.
OracleAS Identity Mgmt (10.1.4) was the updated version of OAS Id Mgmt after OAS 10.1.2 and before OFM 11g. -

Issues while install Application server
Hi all,
I am trying to install application server for the first time. while installing I am getting the error in the REGISTER with Internet directory screen,
It has two fields to enter
1. HOST : I assume machine name in which the S/w is getting installed
2. PORT : Please tell me the port number which I have to enter here?
Ther version I am trying to intall is,
APPLICATION SERVER 10g (10.1.2.0.2)
One more doubt,
Is Oracle map viewer is available with APPLICATION SERVER 10g (10.1.2.0.2)??
Please help
-Thanks & Cheers
AntonyThe Application Server can be installed one of three ways
1) J2EE and WebCache
2) Portal and Wireless
3) BI and Forms
Option 1) J2EE and WebCache is just that, only the Oracle Container for Java (OC4J) J2EE server and a WebCache/WebServer
Option 2) includes option 1 plus adds Oracle's Portal product with an optional Wireless enviorment (for displaying on things like phones, pda's, etc).
Option 3) includes option 1 & 2 plus adds Discoverer (BI) and Oracle Forms
Options 2 and 3 require an Infrastructure server be installed prior to the Application Server install. This is the Oracle Internet Directory server (OID). This can be installed on the same machine, but I recommend a seperate host if this is going to be a production box. Same host installs will work fine for learning/classroom.
The OID server is installed from the same install as Application Server. It was one of the options early in the install. All of the documentation ships with the install media (both download & CD/DVD) Look in your install & find the doc directory. Launch the doc.htm in a web browser. The Install Guide goes through all of this in detail. -
Installing Application Server 10g R2 on Windows Server 2008
Hi all,
I want install Oracle Application Server 10g R2 on Windows Server 2008 ( 64 bit).
It always prompt error "ORA-12560: TNS Adapter error", when I try to install Oracle Application Server Infrastructure 10g.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
MKBHBasically use for internal web server only. I'm not sure can I use Oracle weblogic 11g instead of OracleAS 10g R2. I'll use some of the components like Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE(OC4J), Reports Services, Forms Services, Metadata Repository for Oracle Application Server Middle-Tier and etc.

SQL Server 2012 installed
Tried:

One post suggested "aspnet_regii - enable -i" but my OS doesn't have aspnet_regii on it (not sure what that implies)
One post suggested ServerManagerCmd.exe needed to be installed which sounds true as shown below (but where do I find this exe?)
There are some errors in the log file, I only included the portions where the errors are listed. The initial lines are at the top of the log file, then I skipped to the section where the other errors were. I can include the whole log if
it becomes necessary.

The 2nd set of errors seems more serious. I don't see ServerManagerCmd.exe on my PC that's listed in the error
I don't understand the last error which I'm supposing triggered the listed error even though there are other errors in the log.
Many of the existing posts don't match the configuration I'm using, and the ones that do match didn't seem to provide a usable answer. Any help is appreciated. Do these problems exist using Sever 2012 Standard? I will try that, but would
like to resolve the issue here with R2.
Thanks.
Best Regards,
AlanServerManagerCMD.exe is a deprecated utility and (as far as I know) is only found on Server 2008 versions, so I'm surprised it's needed for the preinstaller. Are you trying to install SharePoint 2010?
Running this page through Google Translate should give you an clearer idea on getting this installed.

Installing Application Server 10g (10.1.3) on Windows Server 2008 Document
Basically, I need to find out if 10.1.3 application server Enterprise Edition can be installed on Windows Server 2008 with a 64-bit operating system. A yes or no is helpful, but I would like to have a link to the documentation. I'm assisting on an install and have been asked to find this info.
I've done some searching, but haven't yet been able to find anything on 2008. I found this ( [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/win.1013/install/reqs.htm#sthref62] ), which is from this ( [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/getstart.htm] ), but the documentation found there only mentions as high as Windows Server 2003. Our DBA would like to see it say Windows Server 2008 64-bit, not just Windows Server 2003 and up (before we make an order on hardware).
Does anyone have a link that specifically says windows server 2008 / 64-bit is possible?
Thanks in advance!Since Windows 2008 was released after the 10.1.3 release, the Installation Guide does not include Windows 2008. In this case, the Certification should be checked before proceeding.

Help please - error message while installing mobi usb card modem
Hello,
I keep getting an error message while trying to install a mobi usb card modem onto my g4. The message is "error encountered while running the installationcheck tool".
I've never seen this message before, can't find any info about it. I'd really appreciate any help, we don't have any mac support where I live (and mobi have no idea).
Thanks!Yzmina,
Make sure your USB card is compatible with the Mac and also, connect a USB device to see if the card is working.
You don't say what kind of Mac you have, but didn't most G4s have an internal modem.
What software are you trying to install - Macs usually don't need third party software for USB cards.
A little more information will help people solve your problem.
