QuickTime Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.''It does not give me much more than that I have tried restoring the pc to an earlier date that did not work. I tried redownloading itunes and that did not work, any other thoughts?

iTunes can not work if Quicktime doesn't.
A common cause of Quicktime problems is the installation of incompatible codec packs.
Have you installed any of the following:
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter, Mpcstar, (possibly starcodec pack, 3ivx)
If so uninstall them, they are known to cause trouble.
Since things seem to be in a muddle, I suggest you remove all iTunes related programs using the method here:

Post back if any of the uninstalls do not work.
Download the iTunes installer and the version of Quicktime that does not include iTunes - this is not the default option

Now install Quicktime and restart your PC.
Check to see if Quicktime works.
If it does, try installing iTunes.

Sync error message with 5.1 and 10.6.1 itunes

I'm getting the "iphone could be synced because the sync session failed to start"
I have read the previous posts on this subject, which have been focussed on beta versions. This is a new problem I'm having.
I've updated to the latest iTunes offered to my MBP running 10.6.8. My itunes is 10.6.1 (7) and my iphone is 5.1 ith no updates avail.
I thought it may be due to not having enough free space on the iphone so I'm deleting many photos and voicemails, memos, etc, but deleting them is not working. I wanted to sync/back them up and then delete.
Any tips / solutions?

This procedure worked well for me. For this you have to remove the device backups from iTunes. Before you remove it, make sure you backup your "Backup's" folder: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ . [for windows -c:\users\\appdata\roaming\apple computer\mobilesync\backup]
    Connect your device and open iTunes
    Go to Preferences/Devices
    Delete all backups
    Click "OK"
    Restart iTunes and attempt another sync

I have requirement in which I need to display an error message in SRM Portal.The error message is maintained in the SAP SRM system and can be viewed through SE91.
We are using SRM 4.0 Version.
I need to display the below error message with a hyperlink to a particular site:
Profit Center of plant and CO do not match, CO belogs to plant XXXX (item link)"
Is it possible to have hyperlink with an error message.

It is no possible.
But you may add hyperlink into documentation for message (SE91 -> Goto -> Documentation -> Long text).
In this case hyperlink will be available after double click on error icon in left bottom corner.

HipServ for STORA by Netgear: when I start it there is an error message "The new JAVA plugin requires a Foxfire version 3 or later". the version of Foxfire I have installed is 4.0. I delete the error message and the HipServ program goes on and works perfectly. To whom should I direct my question, which is how to get rid of the error message? Bizzarely, if I shutdown and open QuickTime many times I can occasionally export a clip as another format (maybe one in 10 times). I have seen that other users have had a similar problem after clipping files in QuickTime but this seems to be a slightly different bug in that all I do is open the file and then try and export the file as is - either way, this is a very annoying bug

@Z_B-B, thank you for taking the time to respond to my cry for help. However, the link you supplied does not address the problem: I am not trying to export from Final Cut Pro to QuickTime, I am trying to export from QuickTime to the rest of the world (like people's iPhones and Ipads) in .m4v format (so I am not emailing my freinds such huge files).
If I were to spend hundreds of Dollars on a copy of Final Pro I could export directly from there and not have to bother with QuickTime, but I do not take enough video clips to justify the cost. I must say that I never had any of these problems before I decided to switch from Snow Leopard to Mountai Lion.

Are there photos in the Library? If not then just trash it and launch iphoto. It will make a new one.
If there are pics in it then Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Ensure that the volume is scrubbed on a regular basis. If the volumes in the RAID device are configured as RAID 0,

But I am not understand if the harddisk in RAID 1. Is that the harddisk with problem will write the data to a spare sector but the other mirrored
harddisk will not write to the spared block due to mirroring or they both write the data in the bad block to the spared block?
If the data in the bad block moved to the spare sector in both mirrored harddisks.
Is that the whole mirrored group will reuse the bad sector again after replacement?
If the Mirror is built up by Veritas not the Solaris Volume Manager. Is there any difference?

It appears that SCSI disk #178, in an external array, has a bad data block
and that the specific data block is #7564160. That data block
additionally translates into sector #7560064 of LUN#1.
Your computer system is finding it difficult to read whatever is in that part of the drive.
Repair that disk by marking the block as unusable,
or you can just replace the disk and rebuild the LUN.
I've never had to do that, personally.
That's what service contracts are for. The vendor does it for me.
It seems that it is time for you to open a service case with the array vendor.

I have the same problem. I'm using Mavericks OS and latest iMovie. Both downloaded last week. I save the movie into File (as directed) and QuickTime

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Error message in Quicktime

After saving a movie to the computer I can play it with media player without a problem, but if I try to open it in Quicktime I get an error
message 2048 couldn't open file because it is not a file that Quicktime understands. I have PE 11 on a Dell, Windows 7, Windows
quicktime 32 bit.

One thing to remember is that MPEG is but a wrapper, and can contain a lot of different CODEC's, just like AVI (fewer variables than AVI, but still a lot of them). It could well be that yours uses a CODEC, that is not installed on the system, or is one that QT Player just cannot use.
Usually, when QT Player encounters a wrapper, that it can play, but when the CODEC is just not installed, it will offer to take you to a page on Apple's Web site, where there are several CODEC's, and player enhancements - some free, but some for sale. OTOH, if it's a CODEC, that QT Player cannot play, it usually just yields a message to that effect. It will not usually throw an error message, such as you got.
Now, it appears that you used the MPEG-2 DVD wrapper & CODEC. Is that correct? That is about as "plain vanilla," as an MPEG-2 gets, and it would surprise me, that QT Player could not handle that. However, there are a couple of variables, that might cause an issue. By the DVD-specs., the Bit-Rate (total for both the Audio and Video Streams combined), cannot be over 10 MB/s. As the Audio Bit-Rate is not factored into many encoder's settings (it's really pretty small), most will choose about 8 MB/s, for the max. Bit-Rate for the Video, allowing some headroom for the Audio. Some DVD hardware players will choke if the Bit-Rate is much above 7.5 MB/s for the Video, though they are spec'ed. to handle that 10 MB/s total Bit-Rate.
As a test, I would choose MOV, with the Animation CODEC. This will be very, very close to Uncompressed, and WILL create a large file. However, that should be about as easy for QT Player to handle, as it gets. Remember, this is but a test. If QT Player pops up an error message with that file, then it is something with your installation of QT Player, or something on your computer, that is interferring with QT Player. Please report on that test. If your Timeline's Duration is long, maybe limit this test to just part of it, with the WAB (Work Area Bar), so it does not take too long to Export/Share that file for testing.

Have you recharge the battery for at least 2 hours, or just leave it connected for 4 hours?
(When you replaced the Hardisk, you should also replace the battery.)
Some other iPod SSD sites, says that you may have to format the CF in FAT32, as Mac dont read NTFS drive so if Windows is the 1st PC that your CF is connected, it may be formatted to NTFS.
You can try erasing the CF using Disk Utilty, so that Mac can recognise it. (but not Windows)
