Gets error message "Attempting to copy to the disk "Ipod" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to". It will put on about 15-30 songs before displaying this message, and can fully sync but it takes forever because i have to press "ok" than "sync" every 15-30 songs. already tried to send it back for a warranty replacement but they said there is nothing wrong. i tried everything, restored, zeroed out ipod disk, reloaded itunes, and all over again about 10 times
Ran into the same error message while attempting to synch an iTunes purchased movie to my son's 5th Gen Video iPod from my G5 Tower (OSX 10.4.11). Here's what worked:
Restored his iPod to factory settings. Noticed that this included having the iPod enabled for disk use (this box was not checked previously -- when we were getting the error message). Reselected which playlists and videos to synch, applied the synch settings, then waited (with crossed fingers and a few prayers to boot!). It worked. No error messages.
Note: the iPod synch cable is plugged directly into one of the USB2 ports on the back of the G5 tower -- not into one on the 3rd party PCI expansion cards I installed to add more USB2 & Firewire ports (not sure if this is relevant, but it seems so based on your discussion thread here). Hope this helps.

I am having trouble getting my iphone hooked onto my wifi. It has always been hooked up to my wifi, but since yesterday it has been doing this. Yesterday i turned my phone off and on and that seems to work...but today, nothing works. I've reset my network and everything...Please help me.
Tozo, it sounds like your setup may be missing DNS server numbers. Try the following:
*Reset/Change DNS Settings*
Launch Airport Utility.
Select Airport device on left.
Click "Manual Setup".
Select "Internet" from the toolbar above.
What's listed for "DNS Server(s):"? Try putting in these servers from OpenDNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Click "Update".
Next, on all Macs affected, launch System Prefs --> Network Prefs.
Select the service you usually connect with on the left (Airport or Ethernet).
Then click, "Advanced...".
Click the "DNS" tab.
What's listed for "DNS Server(s):"? Usually "10.0.1.1" will be listed first in gray. This refers back to the settings in the Airport Utility.
Nevertheless, it doesn't hurt to add the DNS servers noted above here as well.
Click "OK" then click "Apply".
Finally, reboot your Mac.
Now see if you have internet access all around.

You may want to make sure you're installing the right version of itunes. If you have a 64bit system, you will need to make sure to download and install the 64bit version of iTunes.

I tried to update Iphone 3gs to ios 5 with Itunes. first try,It did sync,posted my name under devices(iphone). Tried to restore,keep recieving error message 14. I ran the diagnostic and it kept saying under Port, it does'nt not find Iphone. Tried EVERYTHING! From uninstalling, youtube, google, DFU and downloading some of the so called help links and files. It also keep saying my phone is in restored mode and on the phone it shows a usb plug pointing to itunes and a cd. Trying to fix problem from home and not be charge a fee just to talk to Apple representative. Please help !!!

Apple does not support downgrading, so that is probably why you are getting error 3194. As you have to hack the phone to downgrade all bets are off now. As some of the help links and files direct you to jailbreak your phone if you followed any of those you now have bigger problems. -

New Iphone just WON'T sync - I've tried everything!! Please help
I bought a new Iphone yesterday and for some reason the lady synced it at the store (I had no idea what she was doing at that point - she told me she was 'unbricking it'). Anyway when I came home my own itunes wasn't recognising the Iphone (despite repeated attempts). So after reading up on the iphone a little bit i resetted it by deleting all data and settings. I believe I had some kind of virus attack. I got everything cleaned up. (I HOPE) In the process of cleaning the virus, I unintalled Firefox because it wouldn't open. Kept getting the error message that Firefox was already open and I had to close out of the sessions or restart the computer. After restarting the computer several times and not being able to find any open sessions in task manager, I uninstalled. When trying to reinstall, I get the error message "can not find archive file." I've tried downloading Firefox from cnet as well as the Mozilla site to no avail. Please help. I'm getting tired of using Chrome already!

ANNOYING ERROR MESSAGE IN SYSTEM PREFERENCES!!! PLEASE HELP...
When I open System Preferences and click on the Network Settings icon, I get an error message that says "Your network settings have been changed by another application." It just gives the option to click "OK," but after I click "OK" it just keeps popping up. I end up having to Force Quit System Preferences. I've tried looking for the application that changed the settings, but I can't seem to figure out which one. I haven't installed any new programs in forever. This thing just seemed to pop up out of nowhere.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as this is annoying as ****...Yes, it'd be the latest Security update and your use of a PPP setup I think...

Error message when adding video to premiere pro, please help!

Every time I try and add a video to premiere pro I get an error message "There was an error decompressing audio or video." I made the video in After effects and it plays just fine but I wanted to add sound to it in premiere pro. The file is mpeg movie, I can get more info if needed, just let me know. I am not very experienced at all in adobe but i'm learning so if someone could please help, that'd be awesome? P.S i'm using a MACYou're welcome.

I don't believe the 10.4.4 Update had anything to do with this. I also have a .Mac account and I didn't experience any problems sending with any of my accounts and different SMTP servers after installing the Update.
Something to try.
Go to the SMTP server settings for the .Mac SMTP server and in the Server Port field, enter 587 in place of 25 and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
Test if this resolves the problem.
Having the SSL warning message is odd if Use SSL is not selected for the SMTP server and if using 587 as the server port doesn't resolve the problem, this may be a Mail.app preference file problem which is the file that stores all account settings. -
I've installed/uninstalled itunes many times I have the apple application support installed after that I got this--> "The procedure entry point AVCFPlayerAppliesMediaSelectionCritariaAutomaticallyKey could not be located in the dynamic link library AVFoundationCF.dll." That one can be produced if you have an older version of Apple Application Support on the PC than is required by iTunes version 11.1.4.62. (The required version of Apple Application Support is included in the standard iTunes installers, but for some reason it hasn't been updating properly for some folks.)
Let's try updating your Apple Application Support to version 3.0 by doing a standalone Apple Application Support install.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, can you launch iTunes without the error now?
