Error Message You must install macromedia contribute version 2.0
I am trying to use the functionality from Dreamweaver to
connect to Contribute and Administer the web sites. I keep getting
the error "You must install Macromedia Contribute version 2.0 or
later to administer a site. Would you like to install Contribute
now?"
I am running Contribute CS3 and Dreamweaver 8. Is there a
patch for this issue?
Yes, that could very well be the problem. All sorts of issues
rise when the administrator has a lower version of Contribute. When
a site is administered in CS3 you cannot administer the site in a
lower version at all. Upgrading yourself would be the best policy I
think. I always upgrade when the newer version arrives to avoid
these issues and set the compatibility settings to
Transitional.

OS X 10.4.10 Error Message - "you must restart this computer ..."
Hello. I've started up my Powerbook G4 twice and have received a message stating "You must restart this computer..." with instructions to hold down start button to do so. I've had this unit for nearly 5 years with no issues. Am not running any external equipment. I've read that it may be a "Kernal Panic". What is this? I was instructed by a particular posting to record the "panic log". Could someone instruct me further as to my best possible solution? Here are the specifics on my unit and the text from the "panic log"

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You are, indeed, having a kernel panic (your computer, that is )
From the panic log you posted my guess is that your Airport card is the culprit. I suggest that you remove the Airport Express card and then try starting up again. If all goes well, clean off the contacts of the Airport card and replace it and see what happens. If the KPs return, you will need to replace the Airport card with a new one.
Please do post back with further questions or with an update.
Cheers

I'm trying to silently upgrade my environment to FF 7. I've gotten the silent install working great, it puts in my Proxy Server info, reassigns the home page and all that. But, the last version we pushed out was FF 3.5. If a user had that on their PC and they run the FF7 install, they get weird messages when clicking on the icon.
XULRunner: Error: Platform version '7.0' is not compatible with minVersion >= 1.9.1 maxVersion <=1.9.1
Another message they get is:
AutoConfigAlert:
Netscape.cfg/AutoConfig failed. Error: pref failed: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) [nsIPrefBranch.setBoolPref]" nsresult: "0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED)" location: "JS frame :: prefcalls.js :: pref :: line 70" data: no]
This is on Windows XPDo you have other virtualization or security software that might protect .ini and possibly other files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) and prevent Firefox from updating them properly?
You need to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Trying to download an application for work, Tried on the IE 8, 10 & 11 with no add ons and in the compatibility mode and it will not work. I continue to get the error message: You must have IE 5.5 or higher to use the Contact Center
Manager Admin. I do have the credentials and the admin over me to try and neither one of us can do this. I have a windows 7 computer and I didn't have this problem with my other one, but since Feb or March we have had major issues with IE.
We need help as others are having this same issue.

Hi,
Did you mean that this problem occurs when downloading an application from a website? Would you please provide a screenshot for your problem?

I want to de-install mac-excel test version and get the error message: 'You have not the privileges to de-install. Please login with the Mac-OS account you have installed mac-excel originally'. I don't know this account anymore. Possibly it does not exist anymore. anybody out there who can help ?
Hi, I may suggest to activate the root account and try the uninstall process from that account. To do so, you have to:
Go to System Preferences a open up the Users pane;
On the left side of the pane, you shuold see Login Options;
Enabled editing option clicking on the lock (it will ask your password);
Once the pane is enabled, you should see something like Server Account Network (sorry my OS is in italian, so I don't exactly know the right translation), and right next to it a button;
Click on that button, and a new pane shows up. Click on Open Directory Utility, and on the upper bar of OS X click on Edit;
Select Enable Root Account (you can set a password, or not);
Done that, you should log out and when the login window show up, type on the user field "root" and the password you choose;
Theorically, from this account you will be able to unistall the application.
After completing your task, I reccomend you to disable the root account, just by loggin in your personal account and repeating the steps I described before. Hope it helps -
Why am I having trouble running Adobe Flash Player 11 on my 2011 Macbook Air? I've downloaded and installed it repeatedly; yet when I try to open certain images online or play certain Youtube segments, I get the message, "You must have Adobe Flash 11..." My computer tells me it is installed and running.
If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
1. If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
2. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
3. Triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
4. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
5. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
6. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
7. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
Close the window. Then select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane. -
I am trying to install Firefox 4 on my Mac OS 10.5.8 and I get the error message "You cannot open the application "Firefox" because it is not supported on this architecture" Help!
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com -
I had Itunes on my PC (Windows Vista, 64-bit) and it worked fine with my Ipod. I purchased an Ipod nano, and it was not recognized by Itunes and I was instructed to un-install and re-install. After un-installing Itunes, I am unable to reinstall. I receive the following error message: microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32".version="8.050727.6195".publickeytoken="1fc8b3b 9a1e18e3b".processorarchitecture="x86". HRESULT: 0x80070424.
I am also having trouble with Windows Updates, and receive the same error message: 80070424. Perhaps the 2 issues are related?
If anyone is able to help resolve the issue so I can successfully install Itunes, I would greatly appreciate it!I ran the sfc /scannow command, and yes the response was: Windows Resource Protection could not start with the repair service.
A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time? -
Trying to install windows 7 and getting error message Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Boot Camp Assistant creates a Windows partition in FAT32 to make the Windows XP installation easier.
The problem is that Windows Vista, 7 and 8 require a NTFS partition, so the Windows installer gives this error. The only thing you have to do is to choose the BOOTCAMP partition in the installer and go to “Drive options (advanced)” > Format. Finally, install it -

I have a typing software that I bought a while ago. I had installed it on an old pc but I just bought a macbook and I'd like to install it onto the new macbook, as I no longer use the old pc. When I open the installer, I get the error message: " You can't open the application "%@" because it may be damage or incomplete"
Does anybody know if this is fixable or if I need to just buy a new disk?

I cannot utilize my Adobe documents - I get this error message - “You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.”
Thank you! My solution was different. I had turned off services in MSCONFIG and did not turn them back on. After I turned services back on, Acrobat started working again without the nag error and impedance to use the program. I appreciate your input! Adobe customer service/tech support was dismally disappointing.

Large images may appear as black blocks. I've used 9GAG as an example because it happens quite often on 9GAG (so it was easy to find an example), but it happens on some other websites too. The images are displayed correctly in other browsers.
