Error message "Your system is low on memory"

I just installed Dreamweaver 8.0.2 and I occasionly the error
message "Your system is low on memory" appears. I only use
Dreamweaver for editing php and simple htm files. I have 2 gig of
RAM and Windows Task Manager says I have 1 gig free. This question
has been asked twice before in this forum over the past 2 years and
there has been no work around given. I have XP service pack 2 and
it has automatic updates turned on. Any suggestions?

Windows used to not do well with a lot of RAM, but I haven't
looked
into that for a couple of years.

  • Satellite C850 shows error message "Your Computer is low on Memory"

    Hi,
I recently bought a Satellite C850, windows 8 and with 4G RAM laptop. But I always have the above error message even I just browse the internet. If I ignore this message and keep using, my computer will close the program I am using, for e.g. Excel.
    Can someone kindly help?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
From my experience such error message should not appear on notebooks which are equipped with 4GB RAM. Usually this should be good enough.
However, try to extend the size of virtual memory.
    - Go to Control Panel (Windows button + C -> Settings -> Control panel)
    - System icon -> Advanced system settings. (on the left)
    - On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
    - Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, click Change.
    - Clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives check box.
    - Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change.
    - Click Custom size, type a new size in megabytes in the Initial size (MB) or Maximum size (MB) box, click Set, and then click OK.

Help! my windows PC with Vista will not dowload itunes 10.7.  It gives me an error message: Your system has not been modified.I
I have tried unistalling the current version I had which was 10.6.3, defragging and running a security scan. Now, the highest version I can get is 10.4.1. for some reason I cannot dowload itunes 10.5 or higher as it gives me the same message which is what I need to connect and update my iphone.  Anyone facing the same issue or can point me in the right direction?

You may get better information on that error message by reposting in the iPhone forums:

It's also possible that newer iPhone updates want an OS higher than Tiger. Post the specs of your computer and we can see if an OS upgrade is possible. There are a large number of G4 variants with different capabilities, so giving us something more than  just "G4" will get you help faster.

Do you really mean MB (megabytes) or GB (gigabytes) ?
Even if its GB, the free space may be enough, depending on your files size, especially with videos or raw files.
When you start the backup process, it first shows you the total size of the catalog.

  • Your system is low on disk space

I have a Dell running Windows 7. The system and programs is on a 200 GB solid state drive with about 50 GB free which is my C drive. The photos and videos are on a 2 TB hard drive with 1 TB free which is my D drive. I am trying to do a routine backup to an external 2 TB drive which has 1.5 TB free but I get the message "your system is low on disk space and Elements Organiser cannot perform this operation".
I have backed up before when the catalogue was about 100 GB but it is now about 180 GB. I created a test catalogue with just a few photos in and that backed up without a problem.
Can anyone help? Is PSE trying to create a large temporary file on the C drive so that is the problem? If so, what is the solution?

I was able to do an incremental backup.  Having done that I had another try at a full backup and it worked!
I tried everything every other possibility suggested by forums without success and it seems to be an issue others have so it's worth a try for them. It clearly was nothing to do with system resources so that was a waste of very many hours.

  • "Your system is low on disk space" during Backup

Whenever I try and perform a backup, PSE 8 errors with "Your system is low on disk space, and Elements Organizer cannot perform this operation.  Try removing some fiels to free up disk space."
The problem is that I have five disks on this system (brand new Dell i7-920 with 8GB RAM, btw), with the *smallest* amount of free space being 280GB.  I get the problem on all disks.  My system disk (c:) has 689GB of free space.
I had this problem on my old computer, which also had plenty of free space on the traget external backup disk, but only had about 30GB free on the system disk, so I assumed it was a lack of working space on the system disk for buffering, queuing, whatever...
My catalog is about 30,000 items, totalling about 175GB (according to PSE at the beginning of the backup process).
    Any ideas??

Yes, I am still facing the same issue, but have long since come up with another backup scheme, and no longer require a resolution.
Also, I only want PSE to update photos and only photos - no video, audio or anything else.  I don't believe the built in backup function allows for that.
    Thanks anyway.

Hhow much goal and free hard disk space is available? Sounds like you need to move some things off of that hard drive.

I am not 100% sure this is the issue, but I saw a different thread about the ATI Radeon HD 2600 not being OpenCL compatible for another program and that a newer compatible graphics card would be required to solve the problem.  I am getting the same message with my 2007 iMac 24".

  • The window couldn't be opened because your computer is low on memory. Please close some windows and try again.

When attempting to reply to or forward email, or to compose a new message in Outlook OWA I receive the following error message: "The window couldn’t be opened because your computer is low on memory.  Please close some windows and try again."  This
occurs even if the web application is the only window open.
My operating system is Windows 7.

    Hello,
According to the error message, it should be a Windows issue.
Try OWA and see if we can send/receive email properly. If OWA works fine, I suggest we post this question to Windows 7 Forum below:

  • When in firefox this comes up-your computer is low in memory. Save your files and close these programs.

The available RAM memory on our computer no problem. And we have over 50 gigs of hard drive memory. We have also cleared off history files and open programs. But when my wife plays games on facebook, farmville and the new one just out, a pop up says 'your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close these programs- Fire fox. Our internet security is fully functional and a complete diagnostic has revealed no malware, viruses, trojans, on our system.

  • Your system is low on disk space and elements organizer cannot  perform this operation

your system is low on disk space and elements organizer cannot  perform this operation is the error message i keep getting. i have emptied my recycle bin and got rid of some software that i don't use and im still getting the error. Any Suggestions?

As you might be aware, when you apply auto-fix, a new file (of almost equal size) is created on HDD. This issue might arise if you don't have sufficient hard disk space on the drive which contains the source image. Do you have enough storage space available on your HDD?

  • I get an error message saying "system overload, the audio engine was not able to process all the required data in time (10011)

i get an error message saying "system overload, the audio engine was not able to process all the required data in time (10011)

The thing is, that error message has been appearing when playing/recording a track that was running perfectly a few minutes ago and nothing has changed!
That can mean, that your project is too ambitious for your Mac. Are you using many complicated automations on that track?
4GB memory is not much, when doing audio processing. GarageBand will need all memory it can get, or will be forced to continually swap pages to your disk, to free RAM, and that can cause this error.
When this error occurs, it is best to restart the computer. This will free your RAM. Close all other applications that are competing for memory, i.e. other multimedia applications, and Safari.
Also, make sure, that you have plenty of free disk space. Don't let the free disk space drop below 20G.
Where is your project located? On an external drive or your internal drive? If it is on an external drive, connect this drive directly, not daisy-chained, or move the project to your internal drive.
I got up to eat, came back and tried to continue but GarageBand shuts down and displays that message every time I try to run the song. I've also recently run songs with several more tracks than this one and they worked perfectly. Any tips?
Are your other projects, that worked perfectly, still working?

  • Every time I install an update of itunes, I get an error message saying: "/System/Library/Extensions/WkClassicNotSeizeDriver.Kext" was not installed Correctly. Has any one had it? Can you help me?

Every time I install an update of itunes, I get an error message saying: "/System/Library/Extensions/WkClassicNotSeizeDriver.Kext" was not installed Correctly. Has any one had it? Can you help me?

Find out what that third party software the kext file belongs to and update or use the developers method to uninstall the third party software responsible for it.
    I suspect it's a iTunes extension perhaps?
You also can use the manual method of Finder > Go > Computer and opening your drive, then your  System/Library/Extensions folder and looking for the file and moving it out onto the desktop, you will need to be in Admin user and use your password, then reboot to clear the random access memory. However this method doesn't remove the parent program you still need to do that.
How to uninstall/install software on your Mac
The kext file wasn't loaded, so it's not running, but removing it from the Extensions folder or uninstalling what put it there will solve your notification problem as that's all it appears to be.

  • Your System is Out of Memory - Citrix platform & Primavera P6 ver. 7.0 SP1

We are having this issue with multiple project files with over 65000 activities, and when we try to calculate (F9) all of them together, we receive a message which says:
"Your system is out of memory, Please close other running applications and try this operation again".
This happens in the middle of calculation. First we want to make sure that our files are not corrupted due to this message.
We tried a workaround and reduced the number of activities in a single project file by breaking it down to more project files, and oppened all of them together to do do calculation, but still we have the same error message.
Our P6 database is Oracle and we connect remotely via Citrix 12.0.0.6410.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Each of our Citrix machines (we have 4 at the moment), have 4GB RAM allocated per user (64GB total for 15 users per server).
I should add that we had the same problem with P6 V7 prior to SP1. Also, the problem is not Database specific, schmaster's is Oracle, ours is MSSQL.
It really shouldn't cause a problem and would appear to be Citrix or Network dependant as I run P6 V7 SP1 on a standalone machine as well, and with exactly the same programmes (although with only 2GB RAM), it runs perfectly.
Also, through Citrix, it reports a much higher memory usage figure. After loading my 37 Programmes, it reports that it has used close to 3GB (very close to the theoretical limit for a 32 bit app) of the Physical RAM and 2GB of Virtual. On the standalone machine it is about half this.
