**ERROR: Messages in webi log files
Hi,
My log files seem to be littered with messages like:
***ERROR:C3_cdbDSLServer:(A) cdbDSLServer_LoadUniverseMetadata : CreateChildItem (false)....
or
**ERROR:C3_Dictionary:cdbDictionaryFolder::RegisterFolder failed for: "WE Calendar"....
or
**ERROR:C3_tbDimensionalSLDS:BOException: ...
or
**ERROR:IECore_kc3CoreEngineImpl:GetUniverseLOV failed.
etc.
These show up in the Webi server logs. We don't see these on the screen and I am having a hard time tracking any information about them down. Is it a *real* error? Should I be concerned??
thanks,
-missy
SAP Support said not to worry about the messages marked as ***ERROR as they 'soft errors'.
For the example of :
ERROR:C3_cdbDSLServer:(A) cdbDSLServer_LoadUniverseMetadata : CreateChildItem (false)...
This message was due to a report loading the objects and taking longer than the system is designed to wait, so it logs a message and continues on to completion. I paraphrased that a bit, but that was the primary description.
In contrast, if it was a hard error, the report would fail and a message of some sort would be displayed on screen.
If reports start failing or messages are displayed on screen, then I should be concerned and should open a new ticket.
So pretty much what you said Prabhith.
I can't say I get a warm and fuzzy feeling about this response, but nothing is failing on our end, so at the same time I am not going to push the issue. His response was prompt and he had seen it before, so I am less worreid, but I will still continue to keep an eye on it as usual.
thanks,
missy

Help on printing error messages to a log file

Hi,
I'm running CF 7.0.2. The app is using Flash forms.
I have this onError function in my Application.cfc.
<cffunction name="onError">
<cfargument name="Except" required="yes">
<cfargument name="EventName" type="string"
required="yes">
<cflog file="#This.Name#" type="error" text="Event Name:
#EventName#" time="yes">
<cflog file="#This.Name#" type="error" text="Messsage:
#except.message#" time="yes">
<cflocation url="errorPage.cfm" addtoken="no">
<cfabort>
</cffunction>
The app is working fine but my log file is full of errors:
Event Name: onRequestStart
Messsage: Event Handler Exception
Any idea what's wrong?
Is there any way to get more specific error message?
Thanks,
b.I have the same problem and it does not have to do with firefox. Do you have any idea how to fix it through?

How to Write Error messages to application.log file in OAS 10g.
Hi All i am in urgent need of writing log messages to Oracle Application Server10g application.log file.

BUT I dont know what you will get becauseyour harddrive gets mounted during init, and during init it dumps dmesg to a log file, i guess dmesg gets its logs from minilogd which also gets started during init. The only way of doing it would be to get the kernel to log its output to ram then flush it to disk at the relevant time. Ive no idea if you can do this or not.
I just boot normally from my hard disk, but all the messages between "INIT version 2.86 booting" and the output from /etc/issue (when login is started), is gone. It's not in /var/log/messages nor do I get it via dmsg.
All the kernel messages BEFORE "INIT version 2.86 booting" are logged okay. -
LDAP Authentication Error Message in web log
Hello,
I am using Iplanet 6.0 Enterprise.
I am trying to set up an acl on a particular directory on my web server, but I keep getting an error which I don't understand:
<b>
[11/Mar/2002:15:32:27] security ( 68):
[NSACL4380] couldn't determine dbtype from: user
[11/Mar/2002:15:32:27] security ( 68): for host 138.125.149.194 trying to GET /dnt/frameset.htm, acl-state reports: access of C:/iPlanet/Servers/docs/dnt/frameset.htm denied because evaluation of ACL uri=/dnt directive 2 failed
</b>
Here is the entry in my acl file:
<b>
acl "uri=/dnt";
authenticate (user,group) {
database = "ldap://home.directory.ray.com/ou=person,o=raytheon.com,c=US";
prompt = "Please login using your Corporate Directories login";
deny (all)
(user = "anyone");
allow (all)
(user = "all");
</b>
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-MikeTry changing your acl entry for "database". Instead of defining the ldap url in the "database" entry, specify the "database=default" and define the ldap url in the userdb/dbswitch.conf file. The following entries will need to be defined in the userdb/dbswitch.conf file:
directory default ldap://<url>:port/o%raytheon
default:binddn cn="Directory Manager"
default:encoded bindpw <encoded bindpw>
You can use the "Configure Directory Service" option in Admin Server GUI(using "Global' settings tab) of to create the entries in dbswitch.conf file.
Hope it helps. -

I understood that this has to do with the mts_dispatchers param in the init file, but I need to run it as a shared server rather than a delicated server.
Can anyone help?
nullHi,
As far as I am aware you should be able
to obtain a patch for bug 987647 from oracle.
to Stop the PMON error from appearing.
However they apparently do not see the recurring Load Indicator Message as a bug. It is simply reporting facts. The work around here is to user cron to automatically delete these messages from your log as they are harmless unless they fill your file system.
Cheers,
Rod

I have a problem with my iCal, when I use my caldav account, I can only see my own calendar on my MBA, on my co-workers MBP it works fine with both my account and his. My co-worker can't see other calendars than his own when he uses iCal on my laptop.
We can reproduce this problem on his computer by setting Location to Automatic rather than Amsterdam, then after deleting iCal's cache files, the caldav account and setting the Location back to Amsterdam solves the problem for him.
It does not solve the problem for me (or several other co-workers). We've been looking at this for a few weeks, and we can not find any clear pattern why certain machines have this problem and others don't.
All machines (both affected and unaffected) are running Mac OS 10.7.2 with iCal 5.0.1
I've spoken to Apple support over the phone (in the Netherlands), unfortunately, they couldn't help with this.
So far we've tried numerous location and language settings, but on affected machines nothing appears to solve the delegation problem (which we assume to be connected to the error messages iCal generates)
Starting iCal yeilds the following error messages in /var/log/system.log:

Dec 9 04:13:20 drs logger: Oracle Cluster Ready Services disabled by corrupt install
and database (oracle 10g) is running fine, but i cant figure out what could be the problem, can anyone just help me out on this.
JafarHi,
#h1:35:respawn:/etc/init.d/init.cssd run >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null
by commenting above line in initttab file would stop messaging, is this would have any adverse affect on the database. As its a production server, so i am really taking time to resolve it. Your suggestions are welcome. If there is no harm in commenting the above line then i would go forward to comment that line.
Thanks

ISA550 After upgrade 1.2.17 many error messages in the log
Hi,
After upgrade> 1.2.17 many error messages in the log
Hello,
after upgrading from 1.2.15> 1.2.17 have infinitely many errors in the log:
Err - System: sdsd: msgq_open: Error: mq_open () failed on msg queue / sdsd, errno = 2
Err - System: sdsd: open_control_msgq: Failed to open sdsd control message queue, errno = 2 (No such file or directory)
These errors occur repeatedly (300 times per minute). So I went back to the FW 1.2.15.
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks and regards
