THis is the error message on ALL blogs I write on or view. My FireFox cannot find my google friends. the message says GOOGLE and then the words above, OOPS. Firefox could not find........
HELP I have NO idea what to do. This is from how MY COMPUTER view blogs through Firefox for the past three weeks.
A few other thoughts:
(1) If you access Google in IE and click the padlock icon in the address bar to view the certificate, what do you find in the "Issued by" section as the issue? I have attached the info from Firefox for comparison; I don't have a modern version of IE on this PC.
(2) Do recall changing any encryption-related settings, either through the Options dialog or using the about:config preferences editor?
You could check for non-default settings as follows:
(A) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(B) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''ssl''' and pause while the list is filtered
If any of the preferences whose names start with network. or security. have been customized, they likely will be bolded and show "user set". Could you post those by right-click copying the preferences and then right-click pasting into a reply?

When I click on an Icon on my desktop to take me to a site (such as Google) I get a message that it could not find the location. Then it goes ahead and opens a Firefox window with the site anyway as if the message never happened. Then when I close the window I see that the message is still there. I have to close it separately. Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

About a month ago I could no longer connect to the internet on our PC. Every time I clicked on the Firefox icon the Netscape sign-on window would pop up. I would try to close it but it would pop up over and over again. If I tried to close it a dozen or so times eventually Firefox would open up but it would never connect. Just today I moved my Netscape file to the recycle bin. No longer does the Netscape sign-on window pop up but following Network Connection error message pops up: "Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection".. This error window behaves the same way the Netscape sign-on window used to behave. Every time I click to close it it pops open again. After numerous clicks Firefox opens up but it never connects.
Do you have this error message on a Mac computer or on a Windows computer?
I've only seen this error mentioned on a Windows computer.

Error when deleting file: Could not find this item. This is no longer located in ...
We are setting up a new Windows 2012 server. Users access this server using a 'terminal services'. We have mapped some folders from a legacy server (different domain). Using group policy preferences, we map this folder as a drive for a user.
When user wants to delete some files, he get's the error: 'Could not find this item ..' The error is displayed to the user and it looks like the file can't be deleted. But when I press the F5 (refresh) button, the file is gone. My problem is very similar

When I create 'txt' (or 'pdf', 'zip') file, i can delete it without the error. When I create 'xlsx', 'docx', 'pptx', 'bmp', 'jpg', I get the error.
Does somebody have an idea, how can I fix the cause of this problem? (I can't tell to users to hit the F5 button everytime when they face this issue)

Error Msg: "internet connect" "could not find a pppoe server"

I'm a mac newbie and am having problems with my new MacBook that I just bought and setup yesterday. When the setup asst is asking questions when I first started the computer, I mistakenly chose connect via pppoe. Then, when the setup asst ended, I realized my mistake (b/c I am using a dsl connection that I plug in through my ethernet port), went into system preferences--network-- and chose ethernet, using DHCP. Now I am able to connect to the internet and get my mail, but I keep getting a pop-up window called "Internet Connect" that says "Could not find a PPPOE server". In Network Preferences, where you setup the DHCP, click configure again and select Create PPPoE service, and remove/undo whatever you entered in those dialog boxes. Then re-select DHCP.
Leave the default name, PPPoE but just remove everything else.
If there are any check boxes to connect via PPPoE, be sure they are unchecked.
If that does not help, then in your user library/preferences directory, drag the following file to the desktop and reboot
com.apple.internetconnect.plist
That should take care of it.

Error in executing mappings "could not find program unit being called"
I am trying to deploy a mapping from the control center in Oracle WareHouse Builder usign Oracle 11g . Here is what i exactly do , first I generate the mapping it goes okay with an insignificant warning .. After that I right click the mapping and click start (for exection to begin).. Eventually I get the error

Since Motion 2 can't find "shader normal", it endlessly writes this error to a log file and in the process SLOWS the program down considerably.
I'm using a dual 2.5 G5, Motion 2, ATI 9800 Pro video card, 4GB RAM.
It seems like this might be a video card problem since that's what the error log may refer to (could not find normal shader).
Has anyone else encountered this issue, or know of a fix?

2.5 G5 Mac OS X (10.3.9)Haven't seen it before but you'd have to give us some additional information. Most, not all, Motion errors are caused by bad media files or the user attempting to perform an illegal operation like dividing by zero.
But yea, these look like OpenGL or GPU errors. Try dropping by the mfr's site to see if there are new drivers, a reset application or a user forum?

I have Firefox 3.6.16, I upgraded to Firefox 4 but there were many conflicts with Kaspersky so went back to 3.6.16 which is fine but I cannot get Google nor Yahoo toolbars to load. I have tried several times and the same thing happens. I have another computer that I did the same thing with but both toolbars loaded on it.

Why do I get "Oops! Firefox could not find..." a lot only with Firefox not other browsers ?
All too often, I continue to clink on links and firefox can not connect to those link the first time and sometimes the second time, but eventually it does. How can I prevent this annoyance or should I just switch to a different browser that doesn't have that problem?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.
