Error messages trying to install Itunes

I have a windows XP Home edition computer with more than the necessary requirements. I am also listed as the adminstrator of the computer.
I get multiple error messges. error 1406..Cannot verify you have sufficient access to that key.
error...1402 could not access Hkeylocalmachine\software\classes\.cdda\open with Prodlds
And error 1603..fatal error during installation.
It sounds like I am not listed as the administrator, but when I check, I am. HELP! My poor son wants some songs on his new nano, and I can't get into the darn music store! Anyone have any suggestions?
thanks, frustrated

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components
If applicable, disconnect any iPod or iOS device and close Microsoft Outlook.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later).
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (see note 1 below)
    iCloud (if present)
MobileMe (if present) (see note 2 below)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot your computer. Delete any of the following folders where they can be found: (see note 3 below)
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files\iPod
    C:\Program Files\iTunes
    also on 64-bit systems:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Download the iTunes setup file and run it to install. Use an account with administrative rights. This can usually be achieved by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Run as... or Run as Administrator. In some cases a combination of Shift or Ctrl keys may be required for the option to show, or it may not be necessary.
If you deleted iCloud and reinstalling iTunes doesn't automatically reinstall it visit iCloud Control Panel.

  • Error message trying to load iTunes

I started getting this error message trying to load iTunes a few days ago:
"error writing to file: C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\es.lproj\iPhone Help.chm. Verify that you have access to that directory."
Anyone know how to fix this?

Sorry about the delay. (Bad cold and some connection problems too.)
Hmmm. The first version of it is probably being thrown by the iTunes Setup Assistant (which involves an installer routine).
The second set of circumstances is a bit more familiar (especially if it's accompanied by a 2330 error message number).
Often it's file damage or (disk damage near a file) that causes those messages. So let's try running a Chkdsk over the C drive:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, does it stop giving you that message when you try to launch or upgrade?

  • TS3212 I get a side-by-side error when trying to install iTunes to Windows 7 64-bit???

When trying to install iTunes to Windows 7 64-bit, I get a side-by-side error. Has anyone else seen this problem and were you able to resolve installing iTunes? If so, how did you resolve it?

    Hi
    Hope you are fine there!
recommend that you attempt to resolve this issue by uninstalling iTunes and QuickTime, and then reinstalling the latest version of each. To do this, first ensure that you are logged in to an Administrator user account on your computer, then follow the instructions in the appropriate article:
