Error messages when I log on to Firefox.

I get these same two error messages ( below) when I use my FIREFOX. What is the problem? How canI fix it? Thank you.
ERORR MESSAGES:
1. --stanticate interface component!
2. Message
TypeError_EMBARQ_INST_.DTFox is defined

This can happen if you have an incorrect user agent string (identifies the version of Firefox). Some add-ons modify the user agent string causing it to show an old version of Firefox even if you have the latest version installed.
Your user agent string is "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080702 Firefox/2.0.0.16 Mnenhy/0.7.5.666"
It is reporting that you have Firefox 2.0.0.16, but the user agent string may have been locked by the "Mnenhy" add-on
Try resetting the user agent string to see if it resolves the problem. For details of how to do that see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Websites+or+add-ons+incorrectly+report+incompatible+browser

  • I keep getting an error message when I log onto Firefox and I can't figure out how to fix it, can you help?

    Every time I log onto Firefox I get the following message:
    "Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features."
    I would like to fix whatever is causing this error message to appear, but I haven't found my, "application's profile directory" so that I can check for "read/write restrictions". My hard drive is 640GB with 554GB free space remaining.
    I am running Windows 7 - 64 and am using Avast Internet Security 2013.

  • Error message when downloading a file in Firefox 3.0.1

    Hello everyone, hope you can help. I'm thinking maybe this is a permissions issue?
    When I try to download a file in Firefox 3 I get the following error message:
    "/Users/xxxx/Desktop/iPhoto_714.dmg could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred.
    Try saving to disk first and then opening the file."
    Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

    I wonder if my question somewhat relates to the others here... I recently upgraded from Office 2004 to Office 2007. When i removed 2004, Firefox was still associating any .doc or .docx file with 2004. So, i get the following message when i try to download files:
    document.docx could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences.
    Same thing with Adobe Acrobat - it's opening version 8, which i don't have a license for and i want it to open with version 7.
    I've tried several things, but have not come up with a solution. Can anyone help?

  • How do I resolve the "Mozilla cannot find runtime" error message when I try to start Firefox?

    Mozilla Firefox updated to version 36.0. When I click on the Firefox icon to open it I receive the message: "Mozilla cannot find runtime" I receive the same message if I try to open Firefox by selecting "firefox.exe" from within the Program Files. I subsequently uninstall Mozilla Firefox and reinstall it. It will open and run normally right after the re-installation. Then if I close the program and try to re-open it again, I get the same "Mozilla cannot find runtime" error message.
    The only way I can get Firefox to open is if I uninstall and re-install it every time I want to open it after the initial re-installation.

    <blockquote>
    Hi Adriel,
    The "Mozilla cannot find runtime" problem has returned. It occurs in two situations:
    1. When Firefox tries to download updates using "updater.exe" (version 36.0.0.5531), which causes my "Norton Internet Security" program to notify me with the message: "Auto-Protect has removed security risk Suspicious.Cloud.9.B" This message is shown every time "updater.exe" activates.
    </blockquote>
    I also have experienced this during several upgrades, not just the latest. (I am using Windows XP and Norton Security Suite.) Norton identifies c:\program files\mozilla firefox\updated\xul.dll with the Suspicious.Cloud.9.B virus and removes the file. I can set the Norton installation to accept xul.dll but it would make more sense for a Mozilla expert to contact Norton and work out a permanent solution, for all who are facing this problem.

    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • I often get an error message when I try to open Firefox 8.0.1 that it's already running...it isn't...and the only way I can open it is to restart my computer. Is there a way to fix that problem or to download an older version that doesn't do that?

    I tried downloaded the browser again from IE, but that hasn't helped the problem.

    [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]] has steps that you can try. It sounds like you may have something that is hanging your browser on exit (probably an extension or a locked profile) and the steps on that page should help clear it up.
