Error Moving Sidecar JPEGS
Hi,
I am new to lightroom but have watched this:
http://tv.adobe.com/watch/getting-started-with-adobe-photoshop-lightroom-3/be-organized/
http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-evangelists-julieanne-kost/moving-files-in-lightroom-and-t he-finder/
I have just taken 3 months worth of photos on a Canon 5D MKii and being new to DSLRs I selected it to record the files in .CR2 and JPEGs. In the main everything copied across fine (from an external harddrive) using the import function. However a few JPEGs didn't and now when I try to move them, using the various techniques: dran 'n drop, select>click folder> Move selected files to folder; Dragging them across in Finder then restarting LR - it didn;t see that they moved??
The error I get is: Files couldn't be moved to the selected destination. (27)
I want to move a lot more files that are loose in the root drive to a more structured folder setup but I am nervous because I don't want this error to keep coming up so I guess what I am asking is:
What is the best method to move my .cr2 and their sidecars?
Thanks in advance,
Pete
did you check if the files that can't be moved aren't already (same filename)
in the new directory?
BTW for lightroom the best way is to move files using LR. That way the database LR uses keeps up to date. If you use finder you will not see them back in LR unless you use the "synchronize folder" command. Right click on the folder and use the popup menu.

Getting JPEG Library Error for Corrupt JPEG Data using CS5
After recently upgrading to CS5 I am getting JPEG Library Errors for corrupt JPEG data. I have my old PC still in use that uses CS4 and does not generate these errors when accessing the same site. Could someone please assist me in how to get rid of these errors using CS5? I can't find help out there anywhere for this!
Thanks in advance! You could use Photoshop's Image Processor to open all of your jpegs in a given folder, make a slight tweek and resave them in the hopes of cleaning out any errors that DW is hitting. It's worth a shot maybe.
1. In PS go to File > Scripts > Image Processor
2. For Step 1, browse to a folder in your site with jpeg issues
3. For Step 2, choose save in same location
4. For Step 3, choose Save as JPEG and check Convert File to sRGB
5. Click Run
This will create a sub folder called JPEG with the images resaved there. You can drag them into the parent folder to replace the originals.
If you haven't already, make sure to report the bug here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
At least the right people will be made aware of it then and if it's common enough to trip whatever quantity/user reports system they use, it would get included for repair.
I honestly don't think it's a "bug" per se, since the forum isn't absolutely flooded with the problem. -
What does this error message mean? I have made hundreds of MOVEs without incident. Now I generate the error message " ERROR MOVING MEDIA." All I am attempting to do is MOVE certain selected files from one folder to another another. The target folder does have other PSE-managed files. I have gigabytes of RAM free on the C: drive and on the target drive. Win XP Pro, PSE 6,
Adobe employees do read these forums, but I don't know who, how often, and how seriously (other than the episodes with broken Help and the photo downloader). Sometimes you'll see someone whose name appears in the program credits posting.
You can file a bug/suggestion report at:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=72
They claim to read every submission, but since there's usually no feedback to the submitters, it's hard to know how effective submissions really are. The "feedback" forms most companies have seem to go into the bit bucket.
If you need a work-around solution (e.g. help installing), you can open a case with customer support at:
https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/support/index.cfm?event=membership&returnURL=%2Fcfusion%2Fsu pport%2Findex%2Ecfm%3Fevent%3Dportal&loc=en_us
I filed a number of detailed bug reports there (including the Move bug), but support's feedback consists of giving you a tracking number and confirming it's a bug -- they're not empowered to do anything else. (And surprisingly, they ask you to resubmit the bug report through the submission form above -- pretty shocking that a company's customer support doesn't have a mechanism to directly submit bug reports to their developers.) But at least you're getting an acknowledgment! -
Possible to view/compare sidecar Jpeg?
I shoot RAW+Jpeg because my camerea does very well with colors in the Jpeg. I would like to be able to view the Jpeg within Lightroom and ideally compare it side-by-side with the RAW I am developing. I know I can keep the files separate when importing but I do like having them linked in general.
Is there anyway to view a sidecar Jpeg in Lightroom? If not, I would love to see more work done to allow better management of sidecar Jpegs.AFAIK, there is no way to view a sidecar JPEG within LR. You'd have to import it seperately. Here is the place to put in feature requests, if you care that much about it.

My backend is only for admin, so they are the only ones who can access the
upload pages. My concern is an images folder on the site being 777. Can't
anyone from the outside plant a file in that folder if they just know where
to find it using an ftp program? ? -
I often get an error message when moving a folder across a network within Lightroom 3. A number of files remain in their original location in the catalogue but have actually been copied when I look in the Finder. Attempts to move these remaining files just results in another error saying the files already exist. Anyone know what is happening?

Error: moving average price negative while doing MIRO
Hi Experts,
I am doing MIRo for PO where its giving me error while posting the Invoice that:
Moving average price for material is negative: XSEPSNPW045CX 1044
The MAP maintained in material master is 39,979.71 and in the invoice and GRN is 69,049.58.
Can any please help me to resolve this.
what would be the implications if the price difference is too high b/w MAP in Invoice amount.
and
what happen when we paintain the amount in mr21.
Regards,
Sonali.Hi,
Pls check your price in MMR (MAP price) and then check the IR price of material ....
Example:
MMR MAP Price = 5.00 EUR
If IR price = 30 .00 Eur
IN YOUR CASE:
The MAP maintained in material master is 39,979.71
and in the invoice and GRN is 69,049.58.
So MAP PRice defined in the MMR is lesser than the IR price...
so the MAP will get negative...
Hope it helps...

Error moving .me to iCloud
Since hours I receive the following message from Apple's iCloud webiste:
"Move Error
We encountered a problem while moving your mail. You can try to move your account to iCloud again in a few hours.
You can continue to use MobileMe"
What kind of problem do you have with my account?! ...no information at all is given!
This is disgusting, ridiculous and not appropriate to the heritage of Steve Jobs.
Why, please, do you Apple guys, **** out an iClous prodcut, which is obviously not capable doing its job right from the start.
By such awful mistakes you start to turn long time Apple users into Windows-Lovers!!! Do you really want that!
Move, and get a propper job done!!!!When I transfered my account from me.com to icloud.com i got error, but all data was transfered. now some hours later I can´t read my emailes (error sais that i have to make @me.com email address), and all my contacts from addressbook are missing (I only use iPad2 and icloud (ex mobileme, what worked better), i have lost more than 200 contacts, what were synced to me.com and now lost from there also.
is it some opurtunity to get contacts back? -
Error Moving Tables in Framemaker 10
I keep getting the following error when moving tables to a different page in framemaker:
Internal error 10004, 8134312, 8140430, 8137451
The error happens any time I move a table that has an excel link in it to another page in a framemaker document with lots of text. For example, framemaker shuts down whenever I move a table that displays at the bottom of page 2 to display at the top of page 3.Version 10.0.0.388
I move the tables using keyboard shortcuts. I highlight the upside down "T" and copy and paste to a different section of the text.
I have done it with the excel files both on my system and on a network. It doesn't seem to matter.
Sometimes I have saved the file first before doing the move, sometime I have not.
I just select the table and maybe a blank space or two.
The error usually occurs when adding paragraphs in front of the table as well. The only way I can move tables is by deleting the link to excel, then moving and re-pasting the link. -
Error playing Motion JPEG 2000 video
I just cannot get to play a video file that was encoded to Motion JPEG 2000 lossless format - when opening "an unknown error ocurred". Does Quicktime support this specific format, is there a difference between the free application and Quicktime Pro?
The file itself is ok since I can play it using ffmpeg's command utility ffplay.exeI don't use that, but a quick Google shows there is a specific codec to install... maybe several versions, such as paid or free?

Error moving mailboxes - MigrationTransientException hr=0x80004005
We have an odd issue when trying to move mailboxes to Databases with Exchange 2013 Build 847.32 on all servers affected.
We have 2013 successfully deployed within the UK (3 servers, with a DAG) we are looking to deploy an additional 2 servers in the US across an MPLS WAN. The US has it's own DAG in the US and its own MAPI network (this MAPI network is tested routable to the
UK) DAG own replication network not routable, and simply a cross over...
The Migration Arbitration mailbox is located within the UK DAG, it exists as do the other Arbitration mailboxes and everything works fine moving mailboxes across DBs in the UK...
As soon as I try and move a mailbox in the US between the two server (or even on the same server within the US) it comes up with the following error after about 20mins: Worth stressing that all migration within the UK DAG work perfectly fine...
Error: MigrationTransientException: Failed to communicate with the mailbox database. --> Failed to communicate with the mailbox database. --> MapiExceptionMdbOffline: Unable to make connection to the server. (hr=0x80004005,

I assume this is looking for the Migration Arbitration mailbox in the UK, across the WAN and is failing but all other features seem to work fine... In fact if I try to migrate using the Shell on a US server, it works fine so this seems to be limited
to the Console...
WAN connectivity is fine, I have done a TCP any any on the ASAs to make sure there is full communication and everything else works fine...
Any ideas as to why it seems to be failing to see the Arbitration mailbox? I t is also worth mentioning I have re-run the ADPREP /Alldomains to ensure there is no corruption within the Arbitration mailboxes...
I have probably missed something very simple somewhere but for the life of me can't think where...
Any help gratefully received...Hi,
In your case, the issue should be related to ECP virtual directory in American Exchange server. I recommend you recreate ECP virtual directory and check the result.

Error moving email from Junk-Mail to Inbox
The message could not be moved to the mailbox "INBOX"
The IMAP command "APPEND" (to INBOX) failed with server error: APPEND failed: Unknown flag: JunkRecorded.
The message appears to move to my inbox anyways, but the error is rather annoying. Anyone have any clues?
Screenshot of the error message:

Not user error: moving to trash moves to start of import/event
I found another thread here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5523843 describing the issue as well, and that user had it "suddenly start working". Well, that's because it's an inconsistent problem, but it DOES happen, very often.
The problem: when reviewing images (for example in 'first double click' mode, where one image at a time is displayed), hit command-delete to send image to trash. Image is sent to trash, but the first image in the current "set" (be it either an event if editing one event, or an entire import, if working on 'last import' set), is then loaded instead of the image following the one you've deleted/moved to trash.
This is incredibly frustrating!! And yes, I've seen it work "correctly" as well, but that's maybe 5% of the time and difficult to reproduce. It seems maybe the difference is that if you directly double-click on an image, and then move THAT one to the trash, it moves properly, but that if you do some other sequence (not sure what), it doesn't. I can't reliably reproduce it, but it absolutely happens and is super frustrating.
Apple engineers, please dig a bit. Is there a case where it wraps to the first image in the 'working set' after move-to-trash because it's lost order state or something? Please fix!One more bit of info to help track down the bug: it seems to happen especially in edit mode. You know, with the thumbnail strip along the top? It pretty much ALWAYS happens in that navigation mode.

Import error moving from iPad to iPhoto
Somewhat puzzled by the inability to import photos from my iPad to iPhoto.
Here's what happened:
1. Used camera connector to transfer high-def JPG format files from a Nikon D50 onto the iPad (no problem, and the *iPad displays the pictures* perfectly).
2. Attach iPad to Mac and start iPhoto.
3. iPad is shown as attached and import window is displayed, correctly showing 176 photos to be imported but *no images are displayed*, only the dotted outline boxes.
4. Attempt 'Import All...' and an *import error is shown listing all 176 JPG files* as not imported.
5. Start Image Capture utility and attempt 'Import All', same error is reported.
6. Attempt selecting just one photo and importing just selected item (fails in both iPhoto and Image Capture with the same import error).
It looks like the iPad can read the JPG files but for some reason the Mac cannot.
Setup details:
iPhoto '08 v7.1.5
Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.2
iPad running iOS v3.2
Image Capture v6.0.1
Any ideas?
Regards,
MarkUpdated to OS X 10.6.4 and everything seems to work correctly.
