Error msg "Capture requires a project to be open and a logging bin set"

Hi,
O.K. My project is open and when I create a bin, I still get this error message when I try to use "Log and Capture". I have already successfully logged and captured a previous video clip in this project several days ago but I can't do it now.
What is FCP asking me to do?

Can you capture in a new project?
If so- your problem project may be corrupt.
If not- you probably want to trash preferences.

Try downloading and reinstalling iTunes.

Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, restart the iPad and then try again. Use another USB port on your computer as well.

it is happening more and more often when I start Firefox, and it takes up to four times of restarting to stop getting the error msg's.

Error message says required index.xml file is missing and and will not open

I have the same issue when trying to open a saved Pages or Numbers document created or modified on my iPad Mini running iOS 7 from my older version of those apps on my iMac (running Snow Leopard and iWork '09). As a work around, export the document as an Excel or Word xlsx or docx file to iTunes on the iOS device, save it to the desktop, and then open and re-save in the older native format.

Best "Capture" workflow for projects mixing HDV tape and XDCAM footage

I'm trying to determine the best workflow for projects that combine XDCAM and HDV footage.
I'd obviously do the editing in a project designed for XDCAM, as that's the higher quality footage,
and render the HDV clips in the XDCAM timeline...ending up with an XDCAM end product.
I'd use SONY'S XDCAM TRANSFER to get the clips into FCP.
My question concerns capturing the HDV footage in this scenario. I've never been able to get
the Log and Capture feature for HDV footage to work, unless I've created an HDV project and am capturing into that HDV project.
So, generally, I create an HDV project, open the log and capture utility which is now set to capture HDV, and then capture the footage. I then close that project and create a new project, designed for XDCAM footage. I use XDCAM Transfer to get the XDCAM footage into the project, and I import
the previously captured HDV footage into that browser and start editing, rendering the HDV in the XDCAM timeline.
My question...do I really have to open, what is essentially a "fake" HDV project just to capture that HDV footage? You don't seem to have the option of capturing HDV footage (out of a camera or HDV tape deck) directly into an XDCAM project. If I try to change the capture or audio video settings of the XDCAM project to HDV, you get messages saying you can't do it.
Is there something I'm missing or a more streamlined way of doing this?

No need to jump through these hoops. Just set yourself up with a universal Easy Setup that will handle both. Choose your regular XDCAM HD Easy Setup then open the Audio / Video Settings window and change the Capture Preset to "HDV" and the Device Control Preset to "HDV Firewire" ... then click the "Create Easy Setup" button and save it for recall whenever needed.
Regarding the overall workflow, I'd seriously question the idea of creating XDCAM HD masters. No real benefit to that unless you need to export to XDCAM HD. Much better would be export your final master as Apple ProRes 422.

Error msg " Acct requires CO obj assignment " ?

I am working on SRM 5.5. , Extended classic scenario ( self-driven procurement) .
I am facing a problem , while creating a SC ( in account assignment) .
If i create a shopping cart, for a particular material , it gives an error message saying 'ACCOUNT (ACCOUNT NO. ) REQUIRES AN ASSIGNMENT TO A CO OBJECT ) .
But , if i create a shopping cart, using another material , it does not give this error.
Can anyone, throw light as to why this is happening.
It is a little urgent.

Is it only related to the selected material? I'm not familiar with SRM 5.5 (we're on 4.0 with SRM server 5.0) but probably your problem is related to account determination. How is it customized in your system? In SRM server 5.0 you have to define the account types (CC, OR, ...) and in PPOMA_BBP (org.mgmt.) assign them to attribute KNT. The accounting types define the accounting fields like e.g. cost center or order number. One of those fields is the leading one. This one is mandatory during SC creation (see accounting in item details screen).
In customizing you also have to specify to which category id (of the product category) and source system and accounting type which G/L account is assigned to.
Because your materials are all assigned to a product category it is possible - depending on your customizing settings - that another accounting type requires additional or other accounting fields to be mandatory. Maybe this is the reason why for one material it works and for another not?

InDesign CS2 won't open: error msg states "Please install the MetaData plug-in and restart"

I'm unable to open my InDesign CS2 program, and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me. When I try to open it, I get an error message stating: "Cannot load Adobe InDesign CS2 because it requires MetaData. Please install the MetaData plug-in and restart Adobe InDesign."
It worked just fine last week - I have no idea what happened this week... (other than my 3-yr-old 'playing' with my computer...) I am able to open other CS2 programs like Illustrator and Photoshop. Any ideas for me??

Try trashing your preferences: Hold down Shift + Control + Option + Command immediately after launch. You'll get a dialog asking if you want to delete your preferences. If no dialog comes up you didn't do it fast enough.

Get error msg: A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time.

I got this message after trying to copy my profile folder over to a new computer
This worked for me:
make sure hidden files can be seen
go to (user)/Library/Application Support/Firefox
find profiles.ini
open it with textedit and make sure the default profile is the same folder you have under Firefox/Profiles

Receiving error msg in user's mailbox for both Outbound and Inbound IDocs

Hi,
Whenever specific IDoc (Inbound/Outbound) gets failed then the user/org unit assigned in its partner profile should get those error messages in their inbox.
To achieve this for Inbound Idoc I have performed following set of steps:-
1. Created an object and attached it under IDOCAPPL using 'SWO1' and I have set that object type as 'To imported'.
2. I have assigned that object type to event 'ERRORINPUTOCCURRED' and standard tasks '00008068' (Inbound processing error), '00008074'
(Inbound Syntax error), '20000051' (IDoc Application Inbound error), '300000207' (Error during Inbound processing of SYSTAT01) using transaction 'SWETYPV'.
3. I have created an organisation unit with two positions and different jobs where each job has been assigned to specific tasks. User has also been assigned to specific jobs.
4. At the end of this I have assigned this org. unit to IDoc's partner profile.
But this process does not seem to be working we are not receiving any mail in agent's inbox. If someone has done similar kind of thing in past, please let me know the correct step for both Outbound and Inboud IDoc.

Hi,
Try this for inbound IDOC
Go to transaction WE42
Give the process code that you gave in the partner profile (WE20)
Select that row and press the details button (F2).
Next to the "Identification" field there will be push button which has the tool tip "ALE table"
Press that button
In the resulting screen..
In the IDOC section..
Give the following..
object type - "new business object that you created"
Start event - INPUTERROROCCURRED
End event - INPUTFINISHED

Hi experts,
I have observed strange behaviour of SAP B1 8.81 PL 07 in following way.
On one client PC when I preview standard SAP CR Balance Sheet it asks for SQL user Id and password.
Where as on the same PC, when I select Vertical option to preview Balance sheet, it works fine. This happens on few PC only, On server it shows both balance sheet option correctly.

I would suggest you to please Make a new connection of CR with OLE DB SQL Server and then reimport it.......
And then try to take a preview.....

Ok, we have to keep in mind the request processing lifecycle here. Your
submitAction() method is called after conversion and validation have
already occurred. Therefore, you can never queue an error from an
action handler. Here's why.
When your submitAction() is called, you queue a message into the faces
context. Whatever you return from submitAction(), it's ultimately going
to cause a requestDispatcher.forward() or
httpServletRespones.sendRedirect(). Both of these cause a new
FacesContext instance to be created, obliterating your carefully queued
message.
The best practice I've seen used is to handle the validation as close to
the component in which the validation error occured as possible. I
recommend creating a custom validator method binding, that does the
trick. This is really easy to do. Just add a method to your bean:

Then, in your inputText, you say:

ERROR MSG 1607 / WINDOWS XP INSTALLATION

I JUST PURCHASED THE NANO ON MONDAY. I'VE SPENT OVER 8 HOURS TRYING TO INSTALL THE SOFTWARE AND KEEP GETTING ERROR MSG 1607. I FOLLOWED THE TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS AND TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET THIS SOFTWARE INSTALLED...NO LUCK. IT'S GOING BACK TO APPLE ON FRIDAY IF I CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT?!?! THANKS FOR ANY ASSISTANCE!! HD

Thanks for the new insight. I followed the instructions on the link you provided, but guess what?? I did everything it said to do...and when I was on the final step (start>run>msiexe/regserver) it said the file is not found??? OK...I'm really losing my patience because I've thoroughly read and applied all the options given for error 1607 in the discussions on apple's web page and on installshield's webpage. Now what? What does is mean if it says that file isn't found?

Missing Required Parameter 'from' for event 'open' -- InDesign CS3 Error

Now that I've upgraded to OS 10.6, and I'm getting this weird error message (Missing Required Parameter 'from' for event 'open') when I open CERTAIN InDesign files by double-clicking on the icon. Other files open okay. Everything SEEMS to open okay when I open CS3 and go to FILE and OPEN.
Anyone else having this problem? Any advice?

I was having this problem too and then noticed that the files that would not open had special characters in the name, # or % for example.
I changed the name to exclude these characters and they all opened just fine.
If that doesn't work, it may be, if you use it, Suitcase Fusion. Extensis says that if your computer name is too long or also has special characters in it that it could be a problem in OSX 10.5 and later. Go into System Preferences/Sharing and edit your name to within 20 simple characters.
