Error msg check cartridge

I own an OfficeJet 7410.  How do I clear the error "Remove and check color cartridge", when the print cartridge is OK?

Hi, There...... Did you happen to get an answer to your question about the message you were getting about a problem with the "left cartridge"?  I've had the same problem with the "right cartridge" and downloaded another driver.  I really think I screwed up somehow as I can't get incoming faxes to print.  It seems that the black cartridge (on the right) or something about the chamber where it goes that's the problem.
I have an HP Officejet 4215 all-in-one as well and am using Mac OS X 10.4.11.
I'll keep looking although I really don't know where to go now.
Thanks - Jeanie

    Hi,
As it is refurring to a yellow/black part its most likely the printhead that needs to be replaced and not the cartridge.

  • Remove and check cartridge on right error message on 7410 all in one

I recently changed the black ink cartridge in my 7410 all in one printer. After changing cartridge it gave me an error message of " Remove and check cartridge on right". I have tried removing and reinstalling , cleaning connection points with clean damp cloth (water) and still cannot get error message to go away.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I know this is an older thread but being it is a top Google result associated with the "Remove and check cartridge on right" error it justifies adding a helpful suggestion for other.  Our findings have been HP Printers are very biased against refilled \ recycled cartridges.  I own a total of (5)x HP 7310 and HP 7410 printers in my IT Consulting office.  These are feature rich MFP’s with an abundant supply of ink available at generously economical prices.  On the face of it, it sounds like a good reason to keep a bevy of last gen printers around. EXCEPT the printers work great with the $30-$50 brand new HP brand 96 cartridges from Office Depot or Staples.  Unfortunately if you try and buy some recycled cartridges off ebay the Printers detect the recycled\refilled cartridges as a previously depleted HP cartridge that may not be genuine and the units suddenly turn on you.  Miraculously the "Remove and check cartridge on right" only manifests itself with non-HP brand cartridges or cartridges that have been refilled.  (We have even tried to re-fill out own refreshly depleted cartridges with like results.)  Think of it as an HP service reminder conveying you forgot to pay HP their $30-$50 profit on your ink this go round.  Remember you need HP Branded ink cartridges (HP = Homogeneously Proprietary).  It’s like an intention flaw written into the firmware.  Best guess (purely on conjecture) is there is a check in the firmware/drivers for if the cartridges has been previously installed, previously depleted, max install count, and expiration date validation.  If it encounters a condition it doesn’t like you get this nondescript error.

The above post is filled with conjecture and speculation, but is not based on fact.  The Officejet7410 is not programmed to reject refilled/reman cartridges.  It will check cartridges electrically for various things and will reject cartridges that fail.  Typical failures would include a cracked printhead (caused by rough treatment - dropping the cartridge even a few inches for example), or open electrical connections caused by   debris on the cartridge contacts.  Cleaning the cartridge contacts as shown in the document here may resolve the issue in case of poor electrical contacts.
A cartridge that has been previously used in a different printer will likely be marked as empty, but the printer will happily print with a cartridge detected as empty.
The reality is that the quality of refill and reman cartridges are very variable, but generally poor.  The study here has a study conducted by a testing facility, here is another study.
My personal experience has been similar.  I donated an HP all-in-one to my son's high school years ago.  Sometime later I got a call from the teacher complaining that it was not printing properly.  I went and took a look and found they had put in a renam color cartridge that was not printing one of the colors*. They tried another cartridge, which also had a problem and then finally the third cartridge worked.  I asked why they used renam cartridges and he said they bought these because they were cheaper.  I asked if they were 1/3 the cost....
*The color missing had nothing to do with the printer - blotting the bad cartridge on a damp tissue gave only two of the three colors that would normally be present.

  • What is a pen problem.error msg reads as follows:print cartridges missing or not detected

error msg reads as followsrint cartridges missing or not detected

HP developers refer to the ink cartridge as a "pen".
Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system?  Cleaning the cartrdige contacts as shown in this document may resolve the issue.

  • A/c doc not created and error msg "Business Area Miss-Match Check input"

    Hi,
After creation of new Plant and Business area create a invoice , But my accounting document does't created and error msg show "Business Area Miss-Match Please Check Your Input". plz suggest me.
    Regards,
    Sohail

    Dear Sohail Rahman,
Looks like the Business area has not been properly assigned.
Business area can be created for three combinations:
    1. Business area by sales area
    2. Business area by plant and division
    3. Business area by plant and item division
In your case, check whether the business area is maintained for the combination of plant/division and plant/item division.
    Hope this helps

  • Error message: "Remove and check cartridge"--what should I do? (officejet 6110xi all-in-one)

I got a printer (as above) in a yard sale.  When I first turned it on, it had an error message: "Remove and check cartridge".  I pulled out and looked at the cartridge, nothing seemed wrong (except perhaps the mildly inexplicable twist tie). Then I tried cleaning the contacts, did a hard restart, and looked for damage to the flex (there was none I could see), as suggested here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/Need-help/m-p/71/highlight/true#M8
    Still no love.

  • Photosmart 2710: Error Message and check cartridge on right.

I have the Photosmart 2710 all-in-one but I continue to get the following error message:  Remove and check cartridge on right.
I have remove the black cartridge and check everything. I have cleaned the connectors but still I continue to get this error.

Start by following the troubleshooting steps shown here.  If cleaning the cartridge and printer contacts does not resolve the issue then check the spring as shown in this page.  If the spring is dislodged (1) you will need to have the printer serviced.  If the spring is dislodged but has not damaged the flex circuitry (2) then some have reported success epoxying the spring back in position.

  • Error message: "remove and check cartridge on right." photosmart 2610

I installed two brand new HP cartridges (color and black) in my Photosmart 2610 all-in-one about 1 month ago and they were working fine but now I get an error message asking me to "remove and check cartridge on right." When I check the cartridge (black), it looks fine but the error message won't go away and the printer won't print. Suggestions?

I had the same problem, I have tried resetting with #6 or #3, cleaning.
    What worked for me:
1 - While printer is on, go to the "Mfg Commands"
(on my printer I had to press "*" and "#", others would need to press both left and right arrows, etc.)
2 - You will get the following message "Enter special key combo", then enter "123".
3 - Press the right arrow until you find "Special Reports", click OK
4 - Press the right arrow until you find "Print Cartridges", click OK
What was my surprise when at number 3, it started printing !
And then, everything came back to normal !
    Super cool !
Hope this works for you !

    Hi
If the cartridge isn't empty and you've tried the usual troubleshooting (which includes cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and in the printer) then it's probably best to contact Phone Support for a possible replacement.
You can check if the cartridge is still within warranty by checking the warranty ends date here

  • "Remove and check cartridge" error message

My Dell Latitude died.  It was hooked up to my hp psc 2110 all in one printer.
After completing the set-up basics on new laptop, I downloaded the drivers for the printer successfully.  A test was successful.
Next day, I tried to print.  The printer told my laptop that the ink was low.  Installed new cartridge; hit enter to align.  It went all the way through alignment, but would not print.  Instead it posted the scrolling message “Remove and check cartridge”.
I removed and reinserted the cartridge and nothing changed.  Same message.
Expensively (I really needed to print), I inserted a new cartridge.  The printer started to align the cartridge.  At the second bar it froze.  I watched the two unchanging bars for twenty minutes.
Since then (in this order) I have:
Turned off the printer for ten minutes and turned it back on.  It started scrolling (?) “Remove and check
              cartridge”
Uninstalled then downloaded the drivers and tried all again.
Left everything off for forty-eight hours.
The troubleshooter from the computer couldn’t identify the problem, but said the toner was fine.
I could not print a self-test report because no matter what button I push nothing changes.
Opening and closing the top section (in order to replace cartridge) makes the cartridge move, but does
                   nothing to the message.

The three little green lights (best, normal, fast) flash together.
It still only scrolls “Remove and check cartridge”.
I have not hit it.       I am out of ideas.           I cannot afford a new printer.

  • My HP2575 give's "Ink Cartridge Problem - Remove and check cartridge on right"-error

    Hello,
I have a HP photosmart 2575 all-in-one. For just a couple of month's I use my black 339 cartridge and suddenly it give the error "Ink Cartridge Problem - Remove and check cartridge on right", with means the black cartridge. I always use original HP cartridges and have never filled them by myself or other people. Because the expire date is just a couple of weeks late, HP won't support me.  For now I put a new cartridge in the printer, with works fine. How can I solve this problem with my cartridge? It has enough ink for many prints to make, so I don't like to throw that away. I hope you can help me with tis matter.
    Thanks a lot.

Several users are reporting a server problem with Software Update. Why not wait and try again later today or tomorrow to see if the problem is resolved.
If the problem is on your computer then give this a try:
    Fix for Software Update
See Troubleshooting Automatic Software Update in Mac OS X.
    Delete the following files:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
/Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.xxx.plist where "xxx" is a number.
    /Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/ (delete entire folder)
