Error msg during startup

During startup I get this error msg: Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (X86)Adobe\Reader9.0\Reader\Reader_SL.exe. I was running Adobe10 so I uninstalled that and installed Adobe9 and over that I installed Adobe10. It didn't work, the error msg is still there during startup. Thanks for any help.

Your approach was correct; upgrading from Reader 9 to 10 should have completely uninstalled Reader 9.
Unfortunately it did not; possible fix:
uninstall Reader 10
install Reader 9
uninstall Reader 9
install Reader 10
However, there is still no guarantee that manually uninstalling Reader 9 will remove that startup item.
What I would do: manually remove that item from the startup list. There are quite a number of tools that can help you with that: msconfig, CCleaner, Startup Inspector, Autoruns, ...

Device driver error msg at startup-get white screen w/audio during playback

PE10 has been working fine until today.
Upon startup I get an error message saying my display driver is incompatible.
I checked the driver in Windows 7-it says the driver is up to date and working fine.
When playing back a video clip I'm editing in PE10, I get a white screen in the playback area with the correct audio. When I pause the playback, the video image appears. Play = white playback screen.
I have
-checked the display driver
-rolled my computer back to an earlier restore point
-uninstalled and reinstalled PE10
-turned off my firewall
Any other suggestions to try?

I have created a new conditon ZZ01, applied to the pricing procedure, tested it in sandpit and it works. But after transport it toour QA client, the error msg
No text is defined for language EN usage A appl. V cond. type (T586T)
Message no. V1201
Diagnosis
There is no entry for condition type with the specificed characteristics in text table T685T
Anyone know what could cause this error and how to fix it?
I have tried to update the condition description and transport it again, but it doesnt fixed the error.

Xcelsius Engage 2008 - Error msg during install

Would someone please help! I am trying to install Xcelsius Engage 2008 and recieve the following error msg's:
1. Office XP application: Excel, Word, Outlook or PowerPoint must be pre-installed. Higher versions work fine. (Clicked "OK")
2. Installation ended prematurely because of an error. (Clicked "OK")
My OS is XP Professional, and am running Office XP on my machine. Why is this occurring?

I have tried this on 2 machines - one with Office 2003 and Office 2007. The install aborts on office 2003 (I uninstalled and reinstalled office 2003). I tried two different downloads of xcelsius 2008 (we have license for xcelsius 2008 enterprise) - one from this forum and other from service marketplace software downloads area for BOBJ. Same error.
Documentation says office 2003 and 2007 are supported. Frustrating -- the sap notes search does not even recognize excelsius key word (now that knowledge base is gone) - asks me if i misspelled..
any other clues?

Solution who encounter 'Setup does not detect Sound Blaster .....' error msg during installat

For those who encounter 'Setup does not detect sound blaster audio in the system' error upon installing from the installation CD. You can try the steps below that work for me. It seems Windows have lock on to the sound card with an incorrect ID thus the installation CD are not able to correctly identify the card. Be sure to do a backup copy of the registry first incase something goes wrong since we are editing the registry.
. Go to Start-Run and type in 'regedit' to start the registry editor application.
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\P CI.
3. You should see listing with 'VEN....'. Expand them by clicking on the + icon and then see if it's listed as unknown or Creative related stuff. Keep note of them.
4. Right click on those 'VEN......' listing that you have noted earlier and select full permission. Ensure that full control are selected. Now delete all those listed as unknown or Creative related stuff.
5. Exit registry editor and reboot. Try using the installation CD again.

I only have this problem when i try to install <A href="]Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe[/url] ... That driver pack also says that the drivers from cd are the newest ... :S !

ECC5 installation: Error msg during Post Processing Oracle DataBase

Hello Gurus:
I had installed Java and Oracle DB on C: drive which installed successfully.
I was installing SAP on D: drive. This msg came up.It happened after five hours of final installation when it goes stage by stage in the final run.
Switched to User:trbadm
Working directory changed to C:\ProgramFiles\sapinst_instdir\ECC_50_ABAP_NUC\DB
Installation had to be aborted.
Can you kindly provide a fix for it what can be possibly wrong?

Firefox install causes error messages during startup and freezes during running

I installed firefox 20 on Windows 7 and when I reboot I see several messages telling me that I am missing dll files. I have verified that all the dll files are in the install folder. I was able to run firefox without running firebug and just putting up with the annoyance in clicking ok ont he messages at the start. However when I installed firebug and tried to start I have not been able to use the browser since.

Is this already appearing during the boot process or only after starting Firefox?
You can use the MSConfig program or the Autoruns utility to see which software and services are getting started.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Error Msg during Restore to Factory Setting

I was performing a restore to factory settings on my imac, OSX 10.6.8. About 15-20mins into a restore it errors out saying could not complete b/c of the disc. I tried a 2nd time and it errored out again. Removed the disc, and now when I power up it gets to the grey screen and then shuts down. Please help.

Was there a reason why you are reinstalling OS 10.6.8?
See if Disk Utility on the 10.6 DVD can repair the Hard drive.
To do this: Insert the Install Disk 1 into the drive and then select Restart; when you hear the chime hold down C key until the apple logo appears.
This will take you to the installation software, but you do not want to install.
Select your language, then go up to the top menu bar where it says Utilities and navigate to the Disk Utility application.
Select your hard drive on the left, then go to the First Aid pane where you can click on Repair Disk.
If it finds errors, repeat the process until it reports no errors, otherwise note down the error.
After these repairs, quit the Installer, and restart again, same process, when you hear the chime hold down C key until the apple logo appears. Then do the Installation.
This is all predicated on the Hard drive being rectified. That is not guaranteed but let's hope you can fix the Hard drive.

Error msg at startup tells me to reinstall iTunes

Hi, iTunes has been working fine on Windows 7. However I wanted to burn a CD and found my Laptop DVD writer does not work . I added an external DVD writer and created the CD just using whatever was already installed in Windows, I did not add any other software to my knowledge. Now I get this message when I start iTunes: The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes, So I followed the Apple support instructions for removing iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Support, Bonjour & Apple Application Support as per (Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8) I then reinstalled 11.3.0.54. But I still get the same message on startup. iTunes then works OK but this message is annoying. Any ideas anybody ?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. (Similar to the link provided above.) Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Error msg on startup?

When opening QT 6.5.2 with win 98 i get...QTstreaming authoring failed to load because version of Qtstreaming and QT authoring do not match. I click ok, get it again, click ok and then the player opens. How can I fix this???

Doug, welcome to these discussions.
QuickTime uses "components". Some are not installed until you happen upon content that requires them.
I think you can fix the error message by using the QuickTime Control Panel.
Look for the "Updates" and check the box for QuickTime. It should check your version against the available updates and allow you to install what may be needed.

CUDA error msg on startup after updating?

I updated my CUDA Driver to 4.2.7 (Quadro 4000) and AE CS6 to 11.0.1 yesterday. Everything worked fine all day long.
However when I launch AE today, I'm getting this message. Any ideas why?

I am getting the exact same error message.
And when I check in the preferences I can't pick GPU. It worked fine with 11.0.0, but with 11.0.1 it does not work.
I even upgrade my CUDA past 4.2.7 to 4.2.10 which didn't show up in the control panel, but can be downloaded from NVIDIA's web site, but that didn't help.
And I have tried trashing both the Adobe After Effects 11.0 MC Prefs file and Adobe After Effects 11.0-x64 Prefs, and then tried the entire 11.0 folder in After Effects Preferences, but the problems continues to occur.
