Error - no response from the server

Attempting to upload my first file (18,888 KB) to the acrobat.com server with this consistent error message:
"Error: Acrobat did not get a response from the server. Try again later or contact your system administrator." When I cancel the message after a retry, the following message appears: "The following files were not uploaded due to an unknown error."
Support yesterday indicated to restart my machine - same result. A bit desperate to get this up and running since I like the whole concept of sharing and presenting technical information. Help!

Very hard to diagnose these problems, particularly as you can connect using a 3rd party program.

it was not just email it was all internet via safari but all apps including the bank account app. the laptop and pc access the same email servers which work perfectly so it is difficult to blame the servers.
by the way it has now started to work properly at lasst after a whole day of trying to resolve this year.

Hi,
I have a G4 imac and powerbook both running 10.3.9. They are both conected to a network created by my airport express, they both get internet and I can print to the printer attached to the imac from the powerbook.
I have file sharing turned on on both computers and apple talk enabled for airport on both computers but when I click on the powerbooks icon in the network tab in finder it comes back with "Connection failed. No response from the server. Please try again."
I tried again and again and...
Also I can connect to the imac from the powerbook fine.
Anybody got any sugestions.

Try following these instructions, which I have copied from another discussion:
The first step is: on each computer, go into System Preferences, then Sharing, and turn on "Personal File Sharing". On that page, you'll see, at the top, the computer's name (which you can change), and at the bottom, the IP number (eg 10.0.1.2), which you may need as an alternative.
Then, on each computer, go to Finder, then click on Network. You may straightaway see the other computer appear - you can click on it, click "Connect", and then either log in as a user (it has to be a user that's been set up on that machine), or a guest.
As a guest, you can access all Public folders on the computer.
As a user, you can access that user's Home folder
As an admin user, you can access the whole hard drive.
So, if you have different user accounts set up on the computers, it's best to use Guest access and then put the files you're sharing in your user's Public folder.
Now, if that computer doesn't immediately appear, go to the Finder, click cmd-K (to open the Connect to Server dialogue), and type in
afp://ip-address-of-other-computer
eg afp://10.0.1.2
You'll then get the same login dialogue as above.

ERROR - No Response from application server

i'm hitting this error in my application server, i search and read some posts in this forum regarding the same subject, but, the only answer i got is "shutdown app server and start again"
It's very important that i understand and correct what is origin of this error , so i decided to create a new post.
My environment.
Oracle Application Server 9.0.4 (10g) under windows 2003.

some thoughts ...This error is not happening consistently, it triggers near the end of month ,naturally the amount of requests in the end of month is higher .. am i hitting som e limit ?

Slow Response from the server

It seems that after 1 - 1:30 hrs after the server start the response from app server
(weblogic 5.1 here) is very very slow. This remains as it is until we stop and
restart the server..But again after the same period of time the problem continues
and the server tends to respond slowly.Where could be the problem? If you can
let us know the underlying problem, it would be great.

the heap usage reach 100% and the drop off suddenly. If this is the
case, consider increasing your heap, if that isnt an option.. Try
checking your code to make sure everything that is called is
destroyed.
That may help... If not it could be JDBC,other connectivity, or code.
But try that 1st and let me know.

One socket and two ports, not getting response from the server

Hi everyone,
I am working on device which communicate through Tcp sockets, It has an IP address and one port for listening and another for sending the response.
Problem is that I am able to create a connection to Device ip+port, and i am trying to listen on the same port while the device is sending the response on other port. My problem is that i can't create another socket using this port and therefore not getting the response from the device.
Can you people tell me how to handle such socket communication in java ?

Problem is that I am able to create a connection to Device ip+port, and i am trying to listen on the same port while the device is sending the response on other port.I would try just reading from the same socket you are sending on. I suggest you have misunderstood how the device works.

Proxy error - Invalid response from upstream server

We are using Oracle Application Express Listener for requests between a Web browser and Oracle Application Express engine.
Tomcat and Java version on the web server (Windows 2008):
TomCat v 6.0
Java version "1.6.0_25"
Application Express version - 4.0.2.00.07
Access to APEX site happens via Reverse Proxy.
One of the reports is giving following error message from past few days and there are no log entries in Tomcat server.
Proxy Error+
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /appname/f.
Reason: Error reading from remote server
What could be possible reasons for this proxy error? Please help with the possible solutions to this problem.
I have tried restarting Tomcat service, used different browsers, cleared browser cache but for no avail. Error is only on one particular report page.

Have you tried to access the page directly via tomcat without the reverse proxy? This way you can determine if the problem arises at the reverse proxy or tomcat.
You say it happens only on 1 specific report page, this makes me think there is something with that page and not with the reverse proxy or tomcat. Arises the error when you access the page directly or via a menu option? Maybe the menu link is not correct otherwise i suggest that you take a good look at that page.

No response from the server after 31st Jan 2008

Hi,
Just now came across a strange problem. I am working on a
flex application which uses Flex 2 SDK and LCDS with Tomcat.
Everything was working fine till yesterday(31st Jan 2008).
But when I run my application today (1st Feb 2008), the
request goes to the server and infact the server processed the
request(seen from log files) but the response is not reaching the
client (either result or fault).
If I change my local system date to yesterday(31st Jan 2008)
or before and run the application, everything works fine.
I assume that this is due to licensing issue with LCDS, but I
m using express version which doesn't have any such restrictions.
I'm looking into the same.
In the mean while I would appreciate, If I could get any
clues or solutions for the above problem.

I figured out the problem.
It has nothing to do with any kind of licensing.
There was a date bug with Hibernate our application was using
and fixing that problem resolved this issue.

Hi, I am experiencing a publish upload problem from Muse.
Upload to publish starts and continues until I reach uploading images 1-431.
After a few moments the following error is dashboarded:

Server connections my side are fast and OK
Please advise.
Would I be correct that the receiving server at Business Catalyst is just busy? I notice it does start to continue uploading, however it does come up with similar errors further along the image count upload.

No response from Web Server

Hello,
I have installed Oracle9i application server Rel 2,9i Infrastructure & oracle 8i DB on Win 2000 server.The installation was successful.
When I access the browser with http://<hostname>:7777 it works fine, it shows HTTP server welcome page.
Now I am trying to access Portal home page using http://<hostname>:7779/pls/portal
It seems, it searches for the Web site for sometime & then gives the error "No response from Web Server"
What is the problem ?? Is there anything with the services ?? I can see two http servers(apps & infrastructure)in the program listing,is it related with these ??

Try run EM WebSite running in http://<hostname>:1810.
If you are familiarized with this service it should be easy to solve your problem.
Once you access EM WebSite, you'll see two farms(One for iasdb, and one for Portal). That are some symbols that tell you about the status of Portal. If You see an red arrow pointing down, then you need to access Portal farm to put some services "up".
Choose the link for Portal Farm.
This page shows the status of all Portal components.
For you to get response from your portal http server, there a few of these that must be working.
They are (by order):
1. OC4J_Portal;
2. Web Cache;
3. HTTP Server;
For you to start them, you must (for each one) click on it's radio button an choose start.
With this components "up" you should be able to access Portal.
Some of other components cannot be started by us, because it's radio button is disabled, but Single Sign-On:orasso:7777 must be "up", and
Portal:portal:7778 in my case is "down". The rest of OC4J components are needed for other utilities like deploying components.

I am using the Creative MediaSource Player as part of the software I got with my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 PCMCIA card. I cannot register to use the CDDB database. I get the error message "Response from CDDB server had bad syntax"?There are many posts here regarding CDDB problems, but none?mention that particular error message. In fact, I Googled it and only two sites came up. But I read all the proposed solutions here and in those two sites, and have tried the following:?. Deleted cddb.db2. Unregistered and reregistered the 4 files mentioned3. Updated to latest version of the software4. Disabled ZoneAlarm5. Tried another app - I CAN successfully access CDDB from Roxio Easy-CD Creator's CD player.6. Manually entered the proxy address that's in IE|Tools|Connections?Has anyone else received this error message? What does it mean? The problem is clearly with the Creative product. In the initial customer on that bug, it was not so much the client or what the client was doing, but the fact that it was connecting to the wrong backend IMAP server. If you are going thru the MMP, that should not happen. If you are going thru the webmail server (used by Convergence, UWC, and old webmail), it should not happen. Both of those (MMP and webmail) use the mailHost attribute to determine which backend to connect to. This specific 3rd party software was a different webmail service. It was supposed to be using the mailHost attribute, but it had a bug. So all connections were going to a default backend. And they have set up Distributed Shared Folders -- see:

The key to this bug is that the client has connected to one backend and that backend, for whatever reason, has proxied that connection to a different backend and the bug is in handling errors on that backend-to-backend connection.
We have also seen it happen while moving users. It could also happen if the user is accessing a shared folder owned by a user on a different backend.

Getting response from a server

im working on a simple smtp mail sender and i want to get responses to the commands that i post to the DataOutputStream. in all examples on java.sun.com and the net, there is a while block used for reading response from the server.

I add the codes in two parts of the web.config as below, you can find in by keywords “aspnet:MaxHttpCollectionKeys”
This issue can not reproduce on Chrome only occur on IE.
So, do you have some details suggestion for me to fix it?
