Error (NSURLErrorDomain error -1102.)(102)

Trying to update to Itunes 11.1.0 I get this error (NSURLErrorDomain error -1102.)(102)
Not sure if its a problem on apples end with the large amount of people trying to update right now or what but I can't update. I'm in the US also.
Anyone know what the problem is?

Started getting this error today (01/14/2014) when trying to download updates from the App Store for my MBAir 11" mid 2013.  Error:  NSURLErrorDomain error -1100

That error may result from connecting to a cellular network via a phone or mobile broadband device. If that's what you're doing, try another network.

I am getting an error (NSURLErrorDomain error -1100)....any clues how to fix this?.......

I've been getting the same error from the App Store tonight:
Likely just a problem with the App Store. I wouldn't worry too much about it. The servers aren't completely down, it seems - I was able to update one app before getting the message. But the servers seem to be having some sort of trouble. Try again later in the day - I'm sure that it will be fixed at some point in the near future.

  • When trying to use software update, get error NSURLErrorDomain error -1100

I don't know if this is a result of anything I did.  It started happening after I installed the latest version of Garageband.  When I went into that app, and selected one of the instruments, it directed me to use software update to get all the data for the instruments.  That's when I first got the message box.  Later, I uninstalled Garageband, and still the update problem continues.  Obviously, when this problem first occurs, it will have been after installing *some* app, so I have no way of knowing whether Garageband is involved.   I don't think I can update any of my applications until this problem is fixed.
The full text of the message box:
    An error has occurred
    The operation couldn't be completed.
    (NSURLErrorDomain error -1100.)

    Try this:
    Fix for Software Update
See Troubleshooting Automatic Software Update in Mac OS X.
    Delete the following files:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
/Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.xxx.plist where "xxx" is a number.
    /Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/ (delete entire folder)

    Hi,
I am trying to update Safari to 6.0.2 Aperture to version 3.4.2 and when I click update I get this error:
What does this error mean?  How am I meant to fix this error?
I'm using Mountain Lion updated from Lion if that helps.

Hi, many people having this problem, it means file not found on server, my guess is the east coast USA storm has messed up a lot of Internet.
For Safari, try Mene1's solution here...

  • When I try to update Safari through the AppStore, an error (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012)(-1012) pops up. What do I do?

This is the first time that I've posted on the boards, so forgive me if I did not place this forum in the correct spot.
I got this error this morning when trying to do some updates through the Appstore, namely Safari. I've tried looking on Google for the error code, but have found no answers.
    Thanks for your time!

the installer has insuffisient privileges to modify this file: C:\ProgramData\{429CAD59=35B1-4DBC-BB6D-1DB24-6563521}\x86\DIFxAPI.dll.
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • AppStore Error "NSURLErrorDomain error -1100" – how to fix it

After searching around for a longer time how to fix this problem in Software-Update, I finally found out how to manage this:
    1. Delete PLISTs
       /Usesr/<my username>/Library/Prefereces/com.apple.appstore.plist
       /Usesr/<my username>/Library/Prefereces/com.apple.appstore.plist.lockfile
       /Usesr/<my username>/Library/Prefereces/com.apple.softwareupdate.plist
    2. In Terminal type or copy/paste:
    sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
    3. Restart
    Then:
    1. Open System Preferences - Network
    2. Highlight active connection
    3. Click Advanced.
    4. TCP/IP
    5. Renew DHCP Lease
Already fixed two machine this way ...

    sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
effectively kills Spotlight.  This may be done with less harm by adding certain parts of the hard drive to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Spotlight -> Privacy.   Mind you, if you stop Spotlight, all your search functions from Finder Find File, to Mail or Calendar/iCal or Addressbook searching will be disabled.   Sometimes reindexing Spotlight may resolve issues where this function is required to solve problems.   To reindex Spotlight, add and remove the drive/folder that is corrupted to the Privacy section of the Spotlight System Preference, and wait till the Spotlight menu no longer shows reindexing.  This may take a few hours.
Also sudo commands should be done carefully.   They effectively render your machine more vulnerable to accidental file deletion of important system files for a few minutes, sometimes till reboot.   I don't know what the default time length is on Mac OS X for this vulnerability, but everyone using it should be aware of that.  Better not to enable sudo if you have any sort of file sharing enabled, as that can also render your machine more vulnerable to outside file deletion.

  • Unable to update OSX NSURLErrorDomain error -1012

It's a lot of weeks that I'm trying to update my OSX installation.
I have a list of suggested software updates:
    - Safari 6.0.2
    - Canon software update 2.11
    - iTunes 11.1
But everytime I try to update, I receive the following error:
    NSURLErrorDomain error -1012
I am correctly able to update any single application, but cannot install "official" updates.
    Any idea?
    Thank you in advance,
    Simone

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

  • FIX:::  NSURLErrorDomain error -1012  [for Avast users]

If you've been unable to receive updates from the Mac App Store, and getting this particular error (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012), then you can do the following in order to enable your Web Shield again.
    1.  Open Avast Preferences
    2.  If Preferences is Locked, click the lock to Unlock
    3.  Under the Shields tab, select Advanced next to Web Shield
    4.  Under Exclusions tab, add the following two servers that will prevent Web Shield from denying MAS updates:
              swscan.apple.com     (https)
              swdist.apple.com       (https)
    Done!  Lock the Preferences again.
    Hope this helps

    Of course!
    Glad it worked  for you
