Given that thousands (millions?) of others don't have this issue, I would say it is not the upgrade version that is the cause of your issue.
Please try this. With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!
If not, what is your OS level please?
Article ID: KB23393 How to check the model number and version of the operating system on a BlackBerry smartphone
Please note carefully...I want to know your OS version, not your Software Release version. If your OS is old, then you might want to look into updating it. You also might want to look at a complete device WIPE to see if that fixes things. Otherwise, contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
Good luck!

  • Help - Blackberry Error - An Error has occured and Blackberry World will be closed - Tried EVERYTHING!

Whenever I try to launch Blackberry World, I get the message "An error has occurred and Blackberry World will be closed.  Try waiting a few minutes and reopening Blackberry World."  I have read all of the post and unless I have missed something - nothing is working.
    I have a Blackberry Z10 - STK100-1
    Software - 10.2.1.2977
    I have tried -
launching BBW with just using Wifi
launching BBW with just using Data
launching BBW with Wifi and Data
Hard resets (after changing the above settings)
    Soft resets
    Battery pulls
Tried to access BBW through "games" .. the three dots, ...
Opening BBW online and trying to access my blackberry through the online program.
AND I have just wiped my blackberry to start over, and it is still not working!!!!!  The restore of my data was done using the "quick backup" so it shouldn't be due to a conflict with another program.
Can you please help - I am getting ready to tear my hair out!

Jennie1997,        For those using BlackBerry OS 10.2.1, BlackBerry Virtual Expert is built in and can be opened by opening the Help application followed by tapping Testing along the bottom toolbar.

What else might cause this behavior, and how can I resolve it?
Outdated permissions on the files from your old computer. Right-click, Properties --> Security --> Advanced, disable Inherit settings from parent folders, chose to copy. After that, delete outdated security keys and assign current ones. You may even need to go so fart as to Take Ownership of some files to correctly restore the new system's default security settings.

    Regards,

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
It very likely is...if you did not use the Device Switch Wizard and/or did not involve your carrier in the process, it is entirely possible that your services have not been properly migrated to your replacement BB.
KB05421 What is the Switch Device Wizard
Give that a try and see if it helps your situation.

In the public KB databases, I find no references using the codes you have noted. If you provide instead the exact and complete content of the error message presented, along with the steps you conduct to reach that point, then we might be able to help a little bit more. Or, you can search the public KBs for yourself:

The similar problem occurs with my BBM, when I am trying to login directly from my mobile data, and it wont, but when I login via edge modem by wifi, it does let me to enter and contact. I have tried the payment option as well, but it does the same. It doesnt let me complete, gives an error.
Anyway, regarding my mobiles software version is the latest one by 03 may 2014. I have done everything, removed.battery, didnt use and so on. But still cannot enter to BlackBerry world or bbm.
    Please help.me.
I even reccomended the same.phone.to.my friend and he bought it. And today when I also.wanted.to enter from his phone, it gaves absolutely the same.problem.
    I look.forward to.hear.

    Thank you for the clarifications.
FYI -- there is no prompted log in or log out of BBID...it is an "always on" sort of thing, deeply tied into the device to enable various services, including BBWorld and BBM.
If not, then you likely should contact your mobile service provider for formal support. For BBM, from what you describe it is over their network that things do not function. For BBWorld, nothing functions. If these steps do not work to resolve it, then you will need formal support, possibly from BB themselves -- the only way to obtain that is via escalation from your carrier.
One last thought...when you talk to your carrier, ask them to dig deeply and ensure that there is no BIS account tied to your BB10 device. BB10 does not use BIS, and there are reports that on some carriers even having a BIS account with your carrier will actually block functionality on a BB10 device.
    Good luck!
