Error occuring when trying to download movie from apple tv

When ever I rent a movie from apple tv an error occurs when I go to downlaod it. The error just says that the movie cant download right now, try again later. Even after numerous attempts the movie still wont download. This had been happening for months and I've just been watching movies from netflix. I'm being charged for movies I can't even watch! How can I fix this problem?

First, what is your internet speed? www.speedtest.net
iTunes HD content requires 6mbps (SD would be 3mbps)
Netflix uses variable bit-rate so it simply degrades on slower connections
iTunes content waits to play until enough has buffered for playback without interupption

    Have 55GB available, but get error message when trying to download movie to add storage

    Go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage. Let all of the apps load in the window. You can see how much storage you have used and how much you have left. You will need about twice the size of the download of free storage in order to be able to download the movie. Also, the iOS will not let you use every bit of available storage on the device.
    You can delete content in there if needed, but if you sync with iTunes it's a good idea to transfer purchased into iTunes and backup your iPad before you delete content. If you use iCloud only, backup with iCloud before you delete any content.

  • 8008 Error when trying to download movies from iTunes

    I've searched Google and the discussion boards but no one seems to have a fix for the 8008 error when trying to download movies in iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes, my Mac Mini is up to date with all of it's patches, I've tried deleting the movie in the download folder and redownload the movie but I still get nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix?
    Thanks,

    Morning pettis360,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    For troubleshooting on this, take a look at this article:
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
    These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
    If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
    Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
  ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
    After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
    Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
    Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
    Enter your account name and password.
    Hope this helps,
    Mario

    Downloading error occurred when trying to watch a movie bought on apple tv

    Dear Zita,
    I error is related tot he message which you get "No more handles".
    This definitelly means that there is a bug and old files are not closed , thus the number of handles on OS level is exceeded.
    The exact way to debug the "handles" leak is with applying SAP JVM Profiler, using the I/O Analysis feature.

  • Please help! error message when trying to download pictures from iphone5 to macbook pro

    Hello everyone,
    lately I have been having some issues when trying to download pictures from my iphone to my iphoto library. Whenever I try to do so this message pops up "The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format." Would anyone happen to know why this is happening? I was always able to transfer my pictures from my phone to my laptop before, so I don't know why this is happening now.
    Thank you very much to whomever might be able to solve this problem for me!!

    "The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format."
    if you look at the error message - is the filename mentioned? What kind of file is it? A JPEG? A video?
    Can you import the files from your iPhone with Image Capture?

  • Why do I get a message that an unknown error occurred when trying to download a NYTimes cross-word using AcrossLIte, which happens only on Firefox 4?

    With Firefox 3, I had no trouble downloading cross-word puzzles from the NY Times website, using the app. Across Lite. After installing Firefox 4, each attempt to download a puzzle evoked the message that the file could not be opened "because an unknown error occurred" The puzzles can still be downloaded through Safari and Camino, so the problem is probably with Firefox 4.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

    Just tried to pick up geodefense swarm from the app store. It says error 8012 under the status column in downloads and it tells me to go to the store menu and hit check for downloads. I have tried this and other various methods to restart the download with no luck. I've also tried closing iTunes and reopening. Help and input would be very much appreciated

  • Error message when trying to download cp5_reviewerapp from Adobe or when installing locally

    Has anyone had any issues installing the Adobe Captivate cp5_reviewerapp from Adobe?  I've tried three times from Adobe and I saved it on my desktop twice.  Either time, I get "Installer:  An Error has occurred.  Installing or uninstalling this application on your system is not allowed by your adminstrator.  Please contact your administrator" .  I've made myself admin on the machines but no matter how it's done, cp5_reviewerapp cannot be installed.  I reimaged a machine to see if a fresh image would work but it still errored out.  Any help would be great appreciated.

    Here is an update and more information:  I actually have two MBP's.  One is a mid-2009 model and one is a new, mid-2012.  I transferred files from the mid-2009 to the mid-2012, but I use both computers frequently.  This problem only occurs on the mid-2009 and not on the mid-2012.  I have authorized both computers.

  • Error occured when trying to pass object from Jsp to Applet

    I am trying to pass a serialized object(ie, object class implements java.io.Serializable...so that is not a problem) from a Jsp to an Applet.

    </applet>
    <%! ObjectOutputStream outputToApplet=null;

    BufferedReader inTest=null;
    %> <% Student student=new Student();
    Vector students=new Vector();
    students.addElement(student);
    outputToApplet=new ObjectOutputStream(response.getOutputStream());
    outputToApplet.writeObject(students);
    out.println(student);
    outputToApplet.flush();
    outputToApplet.close();
    %> <html> <head> <title>My Page</title> </head> <body> </body> </html>
    My Applet Applet_RMI.java is:-

    import java.net.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import com.itlinfosys.syslab.mfasys.scm.Student;

    }catch(MalformedURLException e){ System.out.println(e);
    catch(IOException e){
    System.out.println(e);
    catch(ClassNotFoundException e){ System.out.println(e);
    I am using netscape-4.73 on weblogic server. On server when I try to view Jsp page it gives netscape.security.AppletSecurity Exception.
    When I am trying to call this Jsp from IE-5 on my client machine, I am getting error:-"java.io.StreamCorruptedException: InputStream does not contain a serialized" Pl help me out.

    You should probably change your implementation to use a servlet rather than JSP. There may be extra stuff being put in by the JSP. Besides, servlets run faster. Here is some code that may help.
    From the Servlet:
      public void doPost(
          HttpServletRequest               httpServletRequest,
          HttpServletResponse              httpServletResponse )
          throws ServletException, IOException {
        ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(new GZIPInputStream(httpServletRequest.getInputStream()));
        requestObject = in.readObject() ;
        ObjectOutputStream out = new ObjectOutputStream(new GZIPOutputStream(httpServletResponse.getOutputStream()));
        out.writeObject(responseObject);
        out.close();
      } //end doPost()And from the Applet:
      public Object doServletCall(
          Object                           sendObject ) {
        try {
          HttpURLConnection con = (HttpURLConnection)servlet.openConnection() ;
          con.setRequestMethod("POST");
          con.setDoInput(true);
          con.setDoOutput(true);
          con.setUseCaches(false);
          con.setRequestProperty("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
          ObjectOutputStream out = new ObjectOutputStream(new GZIPOutputStream(con.getOutputStream()));
          out.writeObject(sendObject);
          out.flush();
          out.close();
          ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(new GZIPInputStream(con.getInputStream()));
          Object returnObject = in.readObject() ;
          in.close();
          return returnObject ;
        } catch (IOException e) {
          e.printStackTrace();
        } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
          e.printStackTrace();
        } //end try
        return null ;
      } //end doServletCall()Of course you can remove the ZIP and send object if you don't need them

  • Unknown error occurred when trying to buy music from iTunes

    Whenever I try to buy a song or album from iTunes it says an unknown error has occurred (-405054) and can't be completed.

    I had this problem just recently.
    I discovered that the problem was located here: ROOT / Users / Shared  -- if you open that and the "adi" folder has a little red minus symbol in its corner, your permissions have somehow been lost. (If you can't see your root directory, open Finder Preferences and, under sidebar, check "Hard disks." That will make your root drive visible.)
    If the "adi" folder has the red minus symbol, right-click the folder and select GET INFO.
    Sharing & Permissions is probably set to "System: Read & Write | wheel: Read Only | everyone: No Access"
    If so, your user account has no permissions, and that means iTunes can't use the folder properly.
    To fix this, first unlock the folder using the padlock icon in the bottom-right corner of "get info." You will have to supply your admin password to do this.
    Then click the little + sign in the bottom left corner to add a user, and select your user ID from the list of choices. Give yourself Read & Write permissions. (Alternatively, you could change the permissions of "everyone" to Read & Write; others have done that, but I was leery of doing it).
    Re-lock the folder when you're done.
    Hopefully that will solve it.

  • Error message when trying to download book from library

    When I try to download an ebook from the library, I receive this message, " Adobe cannot open (name of book) because it either is not a suppported file type or file has been damaged. I spoke to an Adobe tech and he said it was a problem from book supplier ( the library ) not Adobe. He suggested I try another library system. I did but I still received the same message. I have downloaded Digital Editions several times and deleted it and reinstalled it but to no avail? Any suggestions?

    You're now putting some context around your issue, and that helps.
    There's some information missing.  You haven't said what kind of Nook you
    have: not all versions of the Nook work with Digital Editions (DE).  Also,
    you haven't said whether you've ever been successful in transferring an
    ebook to your Nook. I'll deal with these issues first.  Please don't feel
    that I'm insulting your intelligence or anything with my commentary.  It
    always helps to go over the basics - we all miss something now and then.
    There are a couple of things I can suggest.  Certain older model Nooks work
    with DE.  The newest models, however don't.  You can look up your Nook on
    the list of supported devices
    HERE<http://blogs.adobe.com/digitalpublishing/supported-devices>.
    IF your Nook isn't on the list, DE won't be able to transfer ebooks to it.
    Assuming your Nook is on the list, you have to register it with Barnes &
    Noble.  When you do this, use your Adobe ID.  That makes the use of DE
    simpler.
    It sounds like you've been able to find a source for your ebooks that's not
    B&N, and you've been able to hook up with them.  The difference between
    OPEN and SAVE when downloading is what DE does with the ebook.  If you
    choose OPEN, the ebook's opened in Reading mode on your computer.  If you
    choose SAVE, DE puts the ebook into your Library - which is where you want
    it to be most of the time.
    Connecting the Nook should follow a process also.  When you connect the
    Nook, make sure that your computer recognizes it and gives it a drive
    letter.  You can check this also on the Nook's screen, where it should tell
    you it's connected.
    Once connected, then start DE.  If all is well, DE will display the name of
    the Nook on the Bookshelf side of the Library view panel.  That's the left
    hand side (usually in the middle of the page).  If it does, then you can
    drag and drop titles from the Library onto the Nook.
    When you're done with the transfer, you can close DE, but leave the Nook
    connected until its screen tells you it has finished processing new
    content.  When it has, you can use your computer's utility programs
    (Windows Explorer, for example - NOT Internet Explorer) to eject the drive
    letter, or, for a Windows computer, the icon on the extreme right hand side
    of the START bar that says 'Safely Remove Hardware' when you hover your
    cursor over it.
    Once removed, you 'should' have the ebook on the Nook, and be able to open
    it.
    If you've done all this and it's worked, but you still get the messages,
    then there is something wrong with the ebook file.  I've discovered the
    hard way that some libraries are better than others.  In one case, the
    technical gurus put the wrong format extension on an ebook, and we thought
    it was an .epub, but it wasn't.  So, if you're still getting the message,
    you probably need to contact the library and discuss the issue, as I said
    before.
