Error occurred saving JDF Submission Manager Setup

I am trying to create a JDF Profile using Acrobat X Pro. When trying to create a submission profile, I keep getting an error.
     "An error occurred saving .../Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/AdobePDF/JDFProdDef/ProductionSites/ProdSite.jdf"
A similar error message occurs when trying to save a media profile.
Any help would be appreciated.

You should not be able to write there, I think. Does it offer a choice of where to save?

  • Error occurred saving the cache

    I'm creating an AIR application using the Model Driven Development tools and hoping to make use of the offline cache. The generated value objects and services are working well when connected but I have been unable to get the cache working.
    Currently I am generating custom offline adaptors for each of my Model entities and assigning them to the offlineAdapter property of each data service as follows:
      _terminalService.serviceControl.autoCommit=false;
      _terminalService.serviceControl.autoConnect=true;
      _terminalService.serviceControl.fallBackToLocalFill=true;
      _terminalService.serviceControl.autoSaveCache=true;
      _terminalService.serviceControl.autoMerge=true;
      _terminalService.serviceControl.autoSyncEnabled=true;
      _terminalService.serviceControl.encryptLocalCache=false;
      _terminalService.serviceControl.offlineAdapter=new TerminalOfflineAdapter();
      _terminalService.serviceControl.cacheID="ss-sclient-39";
    When I run my application it works as anticipated but I am seeing the following error in the console log:

    Does anyone know what's going on here?
    Thanks!

    Ah, thanks! That certainly solves the LSO issue - I've changed to linking with airfds.swc and I'm now seeing lots of healthy looking SQLDBCache output in the logs when I run the application with a connection. Unfortunately if I then stop the server and run the application again I'm still seeing a problem. The app does load some data from the cache (I have several services) but then stops with the following error before it can load everything:
    7/27/2010 15:43:46.929 [DEBUG] mx.data.SQLDBCache SQLDBCache - getCollection(_common.Customer_ic) creating new collection

    In both connected and disconnected operation there is no user input, so the sequence of queries should be identical. Each service I use is configured identically except that they each use their own automatically-generated OfflineAdaptor. Any suggestions?
    Many thanks

  • "An error occured saving the ActiveX control"

    I pulled up an old LabVIEW program today
    that I used to work on under Win-NT.
    Now I use Win-XP.
    We're talking about LabVIEW 5.1.1 on this program.
    The program suddenly throws
    "An error occured saving the ActiveX control"
    when I try to save the program.
    Never saw this under NT.
    Anybody knows what this is about ?
    Martin

    Thanks for posting but we need more information.
    Do you have activeX controls in the VI? Are you using 3d graphs? Does the VI run on XP? What version of LabVIEW do you have?

  • "an error occurred saving the activex control"

    I'm trying to compile an executable in Labview 5.1. When I run the build app, it gets about half way done then pops up the error:
    "an error occurred saving the activex control"
    After clearing the error message, it proceeds to go through the motions of compling the app, but no exe is generated.
    The design mode progam run operates fine, and it saves fine as well in design mode.
    Thanks!

    wawatts,
    Though Brian and I got a broken arrow because we didn't have the necessary ActiveX component installed, I imagine you get no errors on the development system because you do have the component.
    This problem would be much harder to pin down on your side given the lack of development-environment errors and the sprawling design of the main VI. One possible troubleshooting approach would be the LabVIEW Find functionality (Edit >> Find). ActiveX functionality typically involves the use of Property Nodes and Invoke Nodes, so if you search for any Invoke Nodes (Select Object, then Functions >> Communication >> ActiveX >> Invoke Node) in the scope of your main VI and its subVIs, you could perhaps have turned up some hits that take you to the subVI that has the control that is presumably causing the problem.
    Unfortunately, I fear that finding the problem area doesn't solve the problem. It seems to me that either the LabVIEW app builder or the ActiveX component is doing something unexpected or nonstandard that is leading to the error message.
    I'm going to stick to my "upgrade the software as much as possible" guns:
    1. Install the LabVIEW 5.1.1 patch I linked to above, if it isn't already installed. There were fixes to the development environment and changes to the app builder that might resolve your problem. This is a free patch.
    2. Consider upgrading the ActiveX control. I think that the latest version is called IntuiLink for 54600-series Oscilloscopes, Version 3.1, and it's available here on the Agilent site.
    It was easy to do a simple test using your Xezgetsetup.vi on my system (LabVIEW 7.1.1, XP) with the updated ActiveX control. First, I installed the Agilent software. Then, I right-clicked inside the ActiveX control on the front panel of Xezgetsetup.vi, chose Insert ActiveX Object, and selected Agilent 54600 Scope Control from the list. Then I had to go to the block diagram and relink a few of the property and invoke nodes by just left-clicking on broken nodes and re-selecting the items that your code was already displaying. That fixed the VI so that it would run again.
    Then I built that VI into an EXE and got no errors.
    Perhaps all this proves is that you would have clear sailing if you upgraded to LabVIEW 7.1 and got the most recent Agilent ActiveX control--and maybe this is a good reason to bite the bullet and do that upgrade now--but it's certainly possible that you can do the same thing in 5.1 and solve your problem. Worth a shot.
    Hope that helps,
    John

  • An error occurred saving the images to the chosen file location

    I am trying to save the scans from my HP Officejet 6500.  I receive the following error message:
    An error occurred saving the images to the chosen file location.
    I have Win 7.
    I can scan and save if I choose to use the picture option but I can't use the feeder with the picture option.  It is only good if I have 1 page.

    I received this exact same message:
    an error occurred saving the images to the chosen file location.
    8,[(8,106,0)]
    I have not had the time to verify this, but I suspect the security settings on any other location you specify are not the same as those of the default.  i.e. C:\Users\%Username%\Documents\My Scans
    When I used the default location and base name the software provided, it worked.
    My guess is Microsoft and/or HP may have changed the security permissions for something in the path folders and the Scanning Software is therefore not permitted to write into the location you entered.

    You are using DB12 as EM repository which is not certified. From the log, ORA-65096: invalid common user or role name , some people have reported similar issue while using DB12 as their repository.
    If this  not the case then log an SR with oracle support and upload the logs:

  • JDF Media Manager Error

    I created a JDF/xml file in Acrobat Pro 9. Within the dialog called Media Manager > Media, within which it is possible to specify a number of parameters including the Thickness I am getting an error that says: "An error occurred saving /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/JDFProdDef/Media Items/Media.jdf" when I try to input a value. How do I fix this, this is a personal computer so I do not understand what the problem is.

    You should not be able to write there, I think. Does it offer a choice of where to save?

  • An error occurs opening a specific image

    Yesterday I was working on a flyer (.psd format) for a client of mine. The first time I saved it I had no problem, while the second time I tried to do the same this error occurred "It's impossible to save the image. A software error occurs".
    Then I managed to save it just deleting the last passages i've done after the first time I saved it, then I closed the image and did the modifications again.
    After I've finished my work I saved it (.psd format) without problems and closed the .psd file.
    Since this morning I'm not able anymore to open it as this error keep on occurring "It's impossible to open the image. A software error occurs".
    I can view it thru the preview program, but  it's impossible to open it in Photoshop.
    Any suggestion?
    I work with an Imac and the operating system is OS X 10.8.5 (12F45), CPU 3,2 GHz Intel Core i5, RAM 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1024 MB
    My Photoshop CS6 version is: 13.0.5
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    Please delete the book and download it again as book was not correctly downloaded or saved on machine.
    Thanks

    I cannot get past this error. I am running Sharepoint Foundation 2010 with Sp1. This is on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Server +Sp1.
    Any ideas?

    I finally figured this out, The issue was that I had put in the Self Service Portal Computer Name and Service account into the Service Manager SQL as SysAdmin, once I removed it flew through just fine.

    I have seen similar threads that suggest this is a known issue with this version of Acrobat but I would like conformation from Adobe that this is a known issue and whether it is fixed in a newer version?
    Adobe Acrobat version 10.1.13
    SharePoint 2010

    Hi quodd,,
    We are sorry for the issue being faced by you. I need some information from you so that I take further steps:
    1. Which Adobe product are you using Acrobat or Adobe reader- what is the complete version?
    2. How are you opening and saving the PDF, the exact workflow?
         Are you doing it from within Adobe Reader/Acrobat application or opening it from browser, doing changes and saving it using browser itself.
    3. Can you try to save a PDF to library with Custom template and managed metadata columns using browser directly.
    4. Please verify that columns name do not contain spaces or some other special characters.
       Can you try to save PDF to library with Custom template and just a single managed metadata column  with a simple name
    Thanks,
    Nikhil Gupta

  • Error occured while saving the user account information

    I'm trying to install LiveCycle ES 2 with PDF Generator on a Windows 2008 server wtih SQL Server 2005.  When I run the configuration manager I get an error in the step where you add the administrator user credentials for generator.  The error I'm receiving is ALC-PDG-080-032-Error occured while saving the user account information.  Has anyone seen this issue before?  Any ideas on what the problem may be?

    Going back some time, another user (do not recall Matrox on the system) had a similar issue. The workaround in that case was to use Save_As and just increment the file name. Now, I do not recall any real "fix," and for another user, the Save_As resulted in the same behavior, so it was not a universal workaround.
    Good luck, and please report your findings,
    Hunt

  • Error on timesheet submission "An error occurred while communicating with the server.

    Hello, we have many users who are encountering errors submitting timesheets following our migration to Project Server 2013 (SP1 April 2014 CU). The error is:
    An error occurred while communicating with the server. Check connectivity with your administrator to determine whether further action is necessary.
    This follows the specific timesheet, if I open a delegate session on my machine, I can reproduce the error. However, simply deleting and recreating the timesheet has resolved it for many users, at least until the next timesheet submission.
    Has anyone seen this sort of widespread behavior and have a solution beyond deleting and recreating the given timesheet?
    Thanks!

    Hello Joncantrell
    I just ran into issue and found a way to resolve, though it may not be the best.  I think it is a bug, but here is how I fixed it.
    1) Delegating as the user
    2) Deleted the timesheet
    3)  Going line by line, I check each task that had a status of "Not Submitted" and "Send Progress for Select Task".
    4) The error came up only for one task.
    5) Open that schedule, remove resource from task, saved and published.
    6) Deleted and recreated timesheet
    7) Submitted timesheet and processed normally.
    I hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • The iTunes Library cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-50)

    I updated iTunes from 7.2 to 7.3 using Software Update and all went well except for one thing, now when I launch iTunes it rebuilds the iTunes library each time I launch iTunes. The other thing is that once it rebuilds the library it displays a warning; "The iTunes Library cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-50).
    I downloaded the standalone updater to no avail. I have also repaired permissions using disk utility - no luck.
    Background info.
    A week ago or so, while I still had iTunes 7.2 I cleaned all my user and system caches, ran all the maintenance scripts and repaired permissions. I used MainMenu, a third party app that lives in the menubar, to perform these functions and faithfully followed all the instructions to restart once or twice depending on the routine and closing all my apps accordingly while doing these maintenance routines etc.
    I noticed one thing after this, my iTunes icon had turned into a generic app icon. Knowing iTunes 7.3 was a slated release this Friday I knew the icon issue would resolve itself after the update from 7.2.
    What can I do to fix this? Please help.

    I somehow got through the -50 error but a few days later podcasts when downloading, would crash iTunes 7.3 altogether.
    There was a post here somewhere and I apologise to the poster in advance but I am unable to relocate it.
    Here is the solution that was proposed and it seems to have worked for me.
    Read the following in its entirety before proceeding:
    1 The first thing I did was unsubscribe to all my podcasts by selecting them all and clicking unsubscribe at the bottom of the iTunes window.
    2 Quit iTunes
    3 Navigate to YourHomeFolder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Podcasts and move the Podcasts folder to your desktop or some other convenient location.
    4 Open iTunes and re-subscribe to all your podcasts.**
    5 Once all the podcasts finish downloading navigate to the Podcasts folder sitting on your desktop and move its' contents back to the folder you originally moved them out of. If you had setup the iTunes preferences to keep all your podcasts after they download be careful not to overwrite items as you move them back from the desktop/Podcasts folder to the new Podcasts folder.*
    **In my case, the list of podcasts in the iTunes window got kind of messy, I mean some podcasts displayed the GET button when even though they had already downloaded or I already had them on my system and other small things like that - this was the result of re-subscribing. You can select those that you don't want to GET and simply delete them.
    *You may have to move one podcast folder's contents at a time, again be careful not to overwrite. If you return things carefully you will have no problems.
    iTunes 7.3 has behaved perfectly ever since.
    I hope this helps. If my instructions are confusing please chime back.
    By the way, command (apple key) clicking any of the collapse triangles both in the finder and in iTunes will expand or collapse all items, this will come in handy as you define anything that might have gone funny after re-subscribing.
