Error occurred while printing does NOT happen in internet explorer; reset firefox instructions do not seem to be of use for yahoo edition 1.21version

This happens EVERY time I try to print using mozilla for yahoo. The "help" instructions" refer to something that doesn 't even appear on the screen when i follow them! I shouldn't have to open up the page in internet explorer just to print the web page!

Hi midlandcomputersweet,
I understand that printing is frustrating. When you describe hitting a help link that leads to a blank screen can you please provide a screenshot of where that link is, we should fix that! [[How do I create a screenshot of my problem?]]

An Unknown error occurred while printing
No changes made to the system. 2 other HP printers hooked up to computer just fine, no issues, but the printers were not working due to age, etc.
I just bought this printer last night, and cannot believe the issues I am having trying to hook it up, and getting it running. I have been doing everything suggested to me, and things still keep happening that I cannot print yet!!
"An Unknown error occurred while printing" is the message I am getting when trying to print an invoice. I have uninstalled the printer, and reinstalled it, and at that time it showed everything to be working.....CD downloaded good, and the USB cable was connected correctly. I have run a HP Diagnostic, and all of it showed green check marks by everything. I have done HP updates, have done window updates, and I have NEVER had this kind of an issue with hooking up a HP Printer. Is it because it is for wireless also, and I do not have that hooked up at this time? Do I need to return/exchange this one for another HP Printer? I am really confused, need to get these invoices printed for customers, and what am I suppose to do? I really don't have time to sit around too long, and wait for solutions to this issue.

    Hi ShopGirlKL,

  • 1018"an unknown error occurred while printing"

    HP1018
    Windows 7 64-bit
Print test works ok, prints from OpenOffice and some other applications.
However, from Adobe Reader X 10.1.6 nothing happens after clicking on the print dialog button. I have also tried "Print as Image," and there is no response from that either.
Firefox 18.02 returned "Printer Error: An unknown error occurred while printing."
I have also updated the driver to "lj1018_1020_1022-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe" which installed identifying itself as a "1020 Series".
That install appeared to install correctly, and the above applications which _could_ print before can still print ok, but the same problem occurs with Adobe Reader X 10.1.6, with not repsonse after successfully using print dialog, both regular and "print as image", and same error, "Printer Error: An unknown error occurred while printing," is returned from Firefox 19.0

It sounds like there's a compatibility problem.  You might try a different reader.  Here's a link to a PDF reader that is similar to Adobe.  Click Here  You might try another browser such as Chrome.

  • FF 5.0.1 on OS X 10.6.8: An unknown error occurred while printing.

Two iMacs. Both new. Both running 10.6.8. Both have same software installed. Both have same printers installed. An HP laserjet and a Xerox Phaser 3635MFC.
FF will not print to Xerox on one it does on the other. Erased hard drive and reinstalled OS X on problem Mac. Same problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled printers. Performed the about:config printer preference reset on all printer preferences.
After clicking Print on print dialog box, it closes and then drop down from FF title bar displays: Printer Error An Unknown error occurred while printing.
Here are relevant log entries from Console:

You are seeing the message because the new AirPort Extreme has some specific System Requirements:
    http://www.apple.com/airport-extreme/specs/
    Setup and Administration
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
AirPort Utility 5.6.1 in Snow Leopard may or may not work correctly with the new Extreme for all functions. As long as things are working OK for now, you can probably leave them "as is" and wait for another Mavericks update to fix some issues before you "upgrade".
If you have an iPhone or iPad, you could use that to administer any settings changes on the new Extreme.

  • I cannot print, get error 'An unknown error occurred while printing."

I can see that hundreds of other people also have this problem and I can't understand why Mozilla don't fix it.
When I go to print an email or a receipt, whether by printer or by PDF, I *sometimes* get the error, 'An unknown error occurred while printing.'
It is very frustrating as the problem is intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... even with the same page being printed. Incidentally, that page can be printed in both Chrome and Internet Explorer without a problem.
I have tried other "solutions" in similar, now closed, threads. However, 'reset' is not working for me. Closing Firefox and reopening doesn't work either. I have the latest version of Firefox: 14.0.1 and have Windows x64. There is enough available space in the cache...
I'm just at my wits end with this.

With the latest updates FF 19 BETA and Acrobat X. The new one with the black PDF screen), I'm having difficulty too printing to Adobe PDF. System Win 7 x 64.
Printing to physical printers not an issue.
No errors, but (Not Responding either in FF or Acrobat.) Printing to the PDF printer directly sometimes works. Using the work-around fast enough, it seems to always work.
    I found a work-around:
    Goto Print Preview
    Select Print
    Type in your file name
IMMEDIATELY press OK and Minimize Firefox.
All of the progress boxes/windows are getting confused otherwise. With FF opened as a normal page, there are too many different progress boxes.
Acrobat has one, the windows print driver has one, FF seems to have one and they all can't be on top.
They will if FF is minimized.
Incidentally if FF is killed, the "Creating Adobe PDF" shows its face from being hidden.
    I did reset Firefox.
This is seriously messed up now. It used to work fine until the last round of updates from M$, Adobe and FF.

  • An error occurred while printing

Printer works fine for Open Office documents that I make off line.  Will not print anything from on line.  Worked fine for years.  I receive this message:  Printer Error - An error occurred while printing.
My drivers are up to date.

    Hi,
I think I'm in the right place now.  This is all I have listed and none mention printer or HP.
    Thanks for your assistance!
I couldn't post the list, says invalid html.

  • An unknown error occured while printing (from Firefox)

When I try to print from web page I get a dialogue box "An unknown error occurred while printing". The printer works on websites when I use Internet Explorer. Also, if I copy the web page and paste it into a WordPerfect document, I can print a copy. This issue just started 2 or 3 weeks ago; I have not encountered this problem prior to this week. Please advise.

    @sklein65
I thank you for your reply. My problem occurred when trying to print to the XPS printer, I found, that, if I disabled the UAC, the problem went away. You may want to give this a try. You can access you UAC by entering 'UAC' in the Window's Search Box. I had an additional problem with my 'Pinned' websites becoming unusable, I traced this down to Firefox version 24 (beta channel). I reverted back to v23.0 and I never had the problem, again. Note, that, all versions of v23.0 worked, the problem occurred when v24 was installed. I disabled all auto updating in Firefox.

  • After installing Firefox 4 I get this- An ununknown error occured while printing It's never done this before in older versions.

I keep getting the following message when I try to print something from my yahoo email.
'''An unknown error occurred while printing.''''

  • I cannot print from Firefox, keep getting "an unknown error occurred while printing."

Whenever I attempt to print something from Firefox (email, receipt, and so on), printing fails and I get the message "an unknown error occurred while printing." Printing from Internet Explorer works without any problem.

I came across the same problem today, also using a 2600N. Window updated the drivers through a Windows update yesterday, so I suspect that's what caused the problem since it was working fine before.
I tried the reset in about:config and that didn't do jack, but I was able to solve it by removing the printer with device manager and then disconnecting it from my PC, plugging it back in, and letting Windows reconfigure it automatically. It works now.
    Good luck

  • A network error occurred while accessing this document on the internet

    Dear all,
I am now facing a very unusual problem that, when I try to open a pdf file from internet, it says: "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?". Here's my situation:
    Browser: IE8 (or Chrome 35.0.1916.153)
    Adobe Reader: 11.0.0
    OS: Win7
1.Directly open from IE. Says: "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?"
2.Try to download(Save AS). In IE, says: "The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"; In Chrome, nothing happened, but still can't download.
3.Try to disable the "PDF Reader Addon" in IE8. First the browser needs to download the PDF file, but failed, see point 2.
1.I can open the same PDF file from another network, that is, out of my company.
2.I can open another PDF file in the network of my company, but the pdf is created by another scanner
3.All PDFs from both scanner can be opened locally.
So, here's the possible problem, the network settings, and(or) the PDF. Does anyone ever meet this situation, please help?
    Thank very much.
    Li

    Rave,
    IE: 8 & 9
    Adobe Acrobat Pro/Acrobat Reader 10.x & 11.x
    Chrome: work fine
So the answer is to manually enable and disable websites based on whether the pdfs open within the browser.  That doesn't seem like a great long-term solution to have have our users to manually enable / disable browser integration.  We have web applications that work better with browser integration turned on.  Is this something that Adobe will fix or is it an IIS/IE issue.
It appears the Adobe removed the #1 config option that you lised in the new 11.x versions of both products.  The manage Add-ons does not disable the browser integration on the new Adobe versions.

  • Error : "A network error occurred  while accessing this document on the internet"

When i try to open un large pdf file (120 Mo with many picture inside), an error appears : "A network error occurred  while accessing this document on the internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it" .  But if i try to "save as" the pdf on my disk, it's work.
I also try to change the option to open the pdf directly in the Adobe reader and it's work.  But if i retry to open the pdf in the browser, the error reappears.
The file is located on a secure server (https) with a user and password.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
    Thanks!

Thanks for providing the information. Could you also let me know which browser is being used to access the PDF?
I try with Internet Explorer 6 and 8.
    Ankit_Jain wrote:
Also, do smaller sized PDFs open successfully at your end?
    Yes it does
I also tested with French and English versions. Acrobat Professional X seems to react the same way but Adobe Reader 9 works!

  • When downlading a particular webpage the print does not seem to fit. I am sure there must be a simple solution to this but not for me!!

Print does not seem to fit in any downlaoded webpage - please help

I'm not sure what you mean by downloaded.
    * Is the problem with Firefox displaying the page on the screen, and part of the text is off the right side of the screen? If everything is gigantic, your Firefox icon might be set up to start in a low resolution. If only the page content is too big, it could be an issue with Zoom.
    * Is the problem with printing the web page, either to paper or PDF? If you use Print Preview and adjust the scaling setting (e.g., change Shrink to fit to something like 90%), perhaps you can get it to work. There are some sites that do not Shrink to fit.

  • After reopening Firefox does not remember which desktop was used for each window. Can you help, please.

I'm using two displays and several desktops on my Mac (OS X 10.9.4).
When I need to restart Firefox, it remembers to open windows from last session in correct display, but does not remember which desktop was used for each window. So when the application starts, it opens all windows on a desktop which is currently active instead of reopening them on desktops used during the last session. How to fix the issue?

    Hi Nerva,
Thank you for your question, there is a add on I have been recommended to custom set up of opening windows in new monitors. It's called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/monitor-master/ Monitor Master].
However, in regards to the session remembering which monitor the window was open in, in the profile folder there is a file that stores window positions and dimensions. It is called localstore.rdf.
Please stay tuned for more investigation, as there are definitely bugs on file for similar issues. Pinpointing it is the hard part.

I am trying to set up internet sharing from my macbook air but there does not seem to be an option for this because the air is connected to the internet via wifi connection. Is it possible to still share this?

It depends upon how the other machines are connecting to your MBA:
If the the other machines are also using wi-fi, they can connect directly to the wireless access point (router) without going through your MBA
If the other machines are connecting to the MBA using ethernet you can share your wi-fi connection to them
