(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that.

A message pops upp everytime I try to download an app saying: The downloaded files appears to be damaged. Click cancel, wait a few minutes and try again. I've tried doing as the messages says a cupple times, it's not working.

Error 0x80092013 everytime i try to get on itunes store

Like the title says everytime i try to acces itunes store on itunes the error 0x80092013 appear. I tried alot of solution but nothing have worked so far.

Okay, I just found a solution that worked for me. You have to change the DNS settings of your router. It may be a provider issue.
I took these:
IPv4
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
IPv6 (if used)
2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844
How you change them depends on your router model and/or provider. If you need an explaination google "DNS Server YOUR PROVIDER ROUTER MODEL".

I get an error -43 everytime I try to update to iOS 5...

I have been trying for a year to update from iOS 4.3.5 to 5.0 and every single time i get a error- 43 during backup and get a pop yp thsat tells me I will lose all if I hit OK..

I still received the error after pausing my anti virus and turning off Windows firewall... So ran another back up and when I received the error again, I just hit OK and it basically removed everything and restored with iOS 5.1.1... so bottom line is, no work around, just go with it (making sure you have a clean backup). I have the latest iTunes, but it seems to get stuck on the back up stage; its not that it can't back up as it happens every time I connect, but when I click upgrade to ios 6, then it suddenly takes a long time and eventually just doesn't go anywhere. even left it running overnight but didn't happen. Just doesn't take the next step of uploading the operating system. help would be greatly appreciated, have been trying to do this for two days now

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
