Reproducing Incident Form Elements in a Custom Class
Hello again everyone,
I am trying to rollout a completely separate module in SCSM to record MACD (Move/Add/Change/Delete) requests. I decided to use the OOB incident module as my base class as it already contained many fields I require (I inherited the properties
and relationships) and created a new form assembly in Visual Studio to wire the properties to.
After created the form and labels, I imported the .dll into the Authoring Tool so I can just drag out each property from the MP explorer onto the form. Everything works except for the last few fields which are a bit more complex than a standard list or textbox.
I cannot seem to add the controls for the more complicated items like "Affected Services" or "Affected Items", when I try to drag them out to the form I get an error saying cardinality is not set to 1... I am guessing this is because
its trying to map a relationship between a workitem and a service instead of my custom class and a service...
So I went back into Visual Studio and added a ListView to the form, thinking I will have to wire the data bindings inside the form itself. However, I am stuck as I am not sure where "Services" are being written to, as I will need this location
to reference in my empty ListView. I have provided my code and commented where I believe I am missing logic. Thank you in advance for any help!
Note: "servicerelatestoworkitem" is not actually an object, my logic is conceptual and I still have not found which class/object the list of services is being written to.
C# Code containing button logic (an add button to add a service to the ListView, and a delete button to remove a service from the ListView.
private void add_services_button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
// Open list of Services here, allow user to pick a service, then add selected service to "servicerelatestoworkitem"
// AffectedServicesListView is populated from servicerelatestoworkitem
private void del_services_button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
// Test to see if item is being selected and display selected item to confirm ability to manipulate variable
try
var itemSelected = ListView.GetIsSelected(AffectedServicesListView);
MessageBox.Show(itemSelected.ToString());
catch (Exception ex)
MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
// Remove selected item from servicerelatestoworkitem and refresh AffectedServicesListView
XAML Code containing the list view and two buttons: (Note: The binding is most likely incorrect, I was just experimenting with it)
<ListView x:Name="AffectedServicesListView" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Height="95" Margin="10,414.6,0,0" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="521" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=AffectedServicesListView, Mode=Default, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}">

</Button.Background>
</Button>Cardinality is a property of relationships classes, not a property of specific relationships. each type of relationship has it's own cardinality values, but the engine only really recognizes "one" and "many". it makes sense to say that
the "affected user" relationship is many to one, because Each work item can have one and only one affected user, but each users may be the affected user of many work items. The Related work items relationship is a many to many, because each workitem
may be related to many other work items. it doesn't make sense to say this specific relationship between this IR and that user is "many to one", because each instance is only between one specific object and another specific objects. the cardinality
just controls how many of those specific relationships instances can exist for each type of relationship.
There are no out of the box controls for many to many relationships. the Instance Picker control is designed to support one to one and many to one relationships. you'd have to write your own controls for support many to one relationships. Consider Travis
Wright's SR Example for 2010, since most of this code should execute in 2012 and 2012r2 with only minor modifications.
You'd have to either find the control that defines it, like with the history tab, or recreate it using the
authoring tool or

BO XI 3.1 in Webi Rich Client, i get this when I use the default Audit Universe to run the Sample Auditing Report.
A database error occured. The database error text is: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Statement(s) Could not prepared..(WIS 10901)
In infoview webi i get this,
A Database error occured. The database error text is: [Microsoft][ODBC driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified. (WIS 10901)
We tried checking all the rights and we are trying this using the Administrator user. Also tried logon to Desinger, Import Auditing Universe and Verify the Parameters and then re exported. Still not workingHi Prasanth,
Thanks for your suggestions and I tried all that what I can do along with your suggestion, and still getting the same error, all the connection are working fine, but when I checked for Integrity, Parse Object and Cardinality I was getting some Object error and cardinality error, which am trying to resolve, so I think am having a wrong version of the Activity Universe.
Thanks for your suggestion.
Thanks and Regards

Is it dependency or constraint
I have a custom Exception class. I am using it in my other client classes.
Is this relationship is association / dependancy / constraint. .
I also want to know what is meant by Constraint ?>>
http://faramir.rug.ac.be/courses/soot1/dungeon/uml.html
Yes, they make the same error wrt cardinality and
associations. Specifically, a constraint on the
cardinality of an association would constrain how many
links of that association type may occur, whereas a
constraint on the cardinality of an association
end will constrain how many object references
that end may be linked to. It is important that these
concepts are not confused.
If you are interested in using UML, you should take
time to read the UML specifications, available at
omg.org, the standards body responsible for UML.
They are quite verbose compared to a single page crib
sheet, but part of having a standard, universal
language for modelling OO concepts is using the
terminology correctly.
PeteAs per
http://www.holub.com/goodies/uml/index.html
Constraint A constrained relationship requires some rule to be applied. (e.g. {ordered}) Often combined with aggregation, composition, etc.
http://www.ajug.org/info/tech/uml/uml.html also has a good explanation
This is what the UML spec says at
http://www.omg.org/docs/formal/03-03-10.pdf
"A constraint is a semantic relationship among model elements that specifies conditions
and propositions that must be maintained as true; otherwise, the system described by
the model is invalid (with consequences that are outside the scope of UML). Certain
kinds of constraints (such as an association xor constraint) are predefined in UML,
others may be user-defined. A user-defined constraint is described in words in a given
language, whose syntax and interpretation is a tool responsibility. A constraint
represents semantic information attached to a model element, not just to a view of it."
There is also a figure depicting an example.
It further states
"For two graphical symbols (such as two classes or two associations), the constraint is
shown as a dashed arrow from one element to the other element labeled by the
constraint string (in braces). The direction of the arrow is relevant information within
the constraint. The client (tail of the arrow) is mapped to the first position and the
supplier (head of the arrow) is mapped to the second position in the constraint."
So in response to the OP's question
Is this relationship is association / dependancy / constraint. .
It is a dependancy as constraint in itself is not a relationship but on a relationship. -
Error while initiating Wily agent on SMD node of cardinality
Hi
I am not sure if I have to put this question here but anyways:
I have deployed wily agent thru JSPM and when tried to initiate it on SMD i get this error:
500 Internal Server Error
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: Node(WilyAdmin.EMS): must not bind an empty collection to a Node of cardinality 1..1 or 1..n
Please suggest what can I doHi Bill,
I'm facing the same issue, did you resolve it?? If yes, how did you??
Best regards and thanks,
María Margarita Monteverde -
Hi,
I am new to web dynpro and was using a tutorial on:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c09fec07-0dab-2a10-dbbe-c9a26bdff03e
to learn about select options in web dynpro. However when I execute the application in the browser, I get the following error message.
The following error text was processed in the system IDS : Number of Elements of the Collection of Node SELECTION.1.RANGE Violates the Cardinality.
I have tried various combinations of cardinality (both for the cardinality property and the selection property) for the range node in the view, but nothing seems to work.
Please help.
MickHi Mick,
Do the following.
1. Instead of taking nodes seperately in component and view context and map them, use drag-and drop method to map the nodes i.e. drag-anddrop the component node to your view context.
2. check the cardinality 0..N.
Regards,
Anirban -
hi
Number of Elements of the Collection of Node COMPONENTCONTROLLER.1.LECI_EVENT Violates the Cardinalinty
can you clarify me this error
Thanks & Regards
DeepikaHello deepika,
That means you are adding more context elements to the context node than the specified number of elements by cardinality.
Check the cardinality property of the context node LECI_EVENT in your component controller.
Suppose if you had mentioned it as 0..1 and you are trying to add 2 elements to that node, you will get that exception.
Hope this helps!

Error in selection of cardinality
Dear Techies,
I have a few gliches in understanding Cardinality.
I have a input field and a submit button on my view. So i decided to use a node under which an attribute is binded to the input field in the view. The user may enter or may not enter the value in input field. So i have decided to use cardinality 0..1. But when i execute the application this gives me a dump.
Context binding of property value cannot be resolved. Node main1.<nodename> does not contain any elements.
This is solved if i change the cardinality to 1..1 or 1..n. Please elaborate why am i getting a dump. If we are not supposed to use cardinality of 0..1, then why does such cardinality option is given though its complelty logical to have 0 or 1 instances for the node at runtime.
Please help me in understanding the flow, here.
Regards
Imran.Hi Imran,
CARDINALITY tells the min. and max. numbers of elements a node may contain.
Theare are 4 properties for this.
0:1 - The node contains zero or one element.
1:1 - The node contains only one element.
0:n - The node contains n elements
1:n - The node contains one or n elements.
In webdynpro the context node act as an Internal table. To control the number of elements in the context node, the cardinality properties are used. If you want to store only one element, use 1:1, the same way with others.
actualy cardinality is nothing but it is selection of value as well as instatiation of node..
4 type of cardinality are there....
0:1----it behaves as not instatiated but may be created upto 1 element...
1:1-beahaves as it is instatiated but will create upto 1 element.
0:n--as it is not intatiated and will create upto nth element
1:n--as it is instatiated but will create upto nth element..
Actualy it is used in Value node at time of creation of any collection of data...it is one of the property of value node in contetx...before doing any thng of node..you have to set cardinality value as above....
Is it clear., pls revert for further clarification.

CS4 Installation Problem on Mac - Error 2
I have tried for several hours to make the new install of Adobe CS4 work. The Lightroom2 install worked fine. Background: I have a macbook pro, OS/X 10.5.7, enough avail disk space. I had a trial version of LR2 and full CS2. I have done the following: checked "repair permissions" - an OS/X utility that interfered with operating Capture NX a couple years ago, so I added that step. I have uninstalled every Adobe application, using Clean Script 3 and Clean Script 4. I have tried to install CS4 in a separate user account, which has since been deleted, and again both Clean Scripts have been run. I have restarted my computer and downloaded a fresh version of CS4. I have tired to install it as a Tial version instead of an upgrade, also. It NEARLY installs, but at the very end of the install bar, after Bridge and before finishing Photoshop installation, I get a big red X and an error and find it is Error 2. The Adobe support pdf's have not helped, including those referenced by their little support bot.
Have spent a couple hours with Adobe Support, also. No one knows what Error 2 means.
Also, the "support" person closed my case as though it had been resolved - said he would call me back in one hour and 2ours 45 minutes later had not called back. He CLOSED the case, wasting my time and lying to me.I have just committed the cardinal sin of allowing my daughter to install Adobe CS4 Web Premium on my new Mac Pro 2.26 8 Core.
I use this computer for pro music composition, and until I allowed my daughter to talk me into letting her use it for Adobe Web Premium (24" Apple screen, she has a PC laptop), it was strictly a no fly zone.
My worst fears were realized.
Neither she, nor I, can't get a clean install. Each attempt is greeted by a 'Successful but with Errors' or some such garbage. I have submitted a support requerst but have had no reply.
The new Mac died. Apple replaced it with a new computer under Applecare Warranty, and a new hard disk, but still the problem remains.
I've tried a new partition; nope.
I get the folling error codes:
Adobe CSI CS4
Error:
Error 2.
Adobe Device Central CS4
Error:

Adobe Drive CS4

Adobe Extension Manager CS4

Error 2.
I tried to download the Adobe Support Advisor, but it would not download. I have erased the registration, followed the instructions to the letter.
Nothing.
Adobe help in Australia were polite but did not resolve the problem. I called again and was greeted by a call centre somewhere in the Third World by someone who knew less about computers that they did about Adobe products. This poor person probably has a good job within his impoverished community, but undoubtedly paid a pittance (or why would Adobe set up a Call Centre in India), which make s it really hard to vent my frustrations without appearing racist.
I am attempting to take over the problem as there is no way a seventeen year old girl could negotiate this. I can't.
Has anybody any clues?
Appreciate any help. I can't access my daughter's email which the product is registered through at Adobe, as it is on her school computer which is connected through the school server, but my email is [email protected].
Appreciate any help. Or the contact details of a good hit-man.

<b>Hello,

Now I'm trying to build a view with an Interactive Form UIElement. I designed the form and now I'm trying to run the Web Dynpro Application. There are no Errors during the Deployments but when IE opens it shows following error message.
seems to be something wrong with the binding of the form to the context? but I dont know how to fix this problem...
any ideas?</b>

thanks for your answer.
there is one property calles cardinality (value is 0..n) and another one called selection (value is 0..1) but I cannot edit these values
In the meantime I found out that I forgot to do some of the post-installation-configuring. I fixed it and I hoped this would have solved my problem...but it didn't.

RunDataMacro error on SharePoint Access web DB
We have a web database created with Access 2010 based on some SharePoint lists to store
data. One of the forms in the database uses the RunDataMacro command to call a data
macro on one of the lists. It passes in some data via parameters to locate a record and
update some fields in the list.
This was working fine in SharePoint 2010, but since moving the DB to a SharePoint 2013
environment with SSL the macro no longer runs and an error is encountered. The
Application Log Table in the DB records a description of ‘Failed to start’
against the execution of the macro, with an error number of ‘-4002’.
We tried a new data macro which contained no actions, but this also failed to start. So it
appears to be the action of trying to call or run the macro rather than what
the macro is doing that is the issue.
Could this be something in the settings of SharePoint 2013 and/or the SSL?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.Hi,
In SharePoint 2013, we can use Access App to meet your requirement.
If you want to manually convert a web database to an Access app to take advantage of new functionality and features, you can do the following:
1. Import the data from the web database into a new Access app.
2. Re-create the user interface and business logic.
