Error on Downloads to SD card fail Centro Blazer = attachmentD or *.php

Question

I just got a Palm Centro, when using Blazer to download files they often end up as a *.php file even if they started as a *.zip or *.exe.  In addition, when I try to download attachments from my webmail, even though it says its downloading *.zip what it is putting on the card is "attachmentD".  If you then try to download a 2nd file, it says the file already exists do you wish to overwrite it. 
All downloads are to the SD card due to size constraints and the fact that unsupported formats, eg zip, will only download to the card.  Any help?  Thanks.

Actually on my various computers I can download any file, and not have it corrupted, even if the computer cannot read or use it. prc, pdf, psd, raw, etc all stay the same. I've had Linux files on my PC and vice versa.  It says save to? and I say yes and there it is stored, uncorrupted, on my storage device until I can transfer it to an electronic device (not necessarily a computer even) that can then use the data.  When the Centro says save to? and I say yes, there it is, corrupted and unusable even thought Centro says File type not supported do you want to save to card?  What is the purpose of that prompt if what it means is File type not supported and you can't have it?
All I ask now is, if the Centro cannot store data on the storage card unless it is specifically supported by the Centro why does it ask if I want to store the file?  Why not a simple statement like:  The Centro cannot download the files because it is not supported by the device.  Better yet, why does it say in my Now You Know Centro  book, published by Palm books, on page 20, under the heading Email attachments, and I quote: "Your Centro smartphone opens any file attachments that match the file types in the table to the right.  You can even download file types that can't be opened (for example a Photoshop file) and then sync them to your PC, or transfer via Bluetooth (page 22).  You can also use a card reader to transfer the file. (emphasis added by me).
 So please, which is correct your first post that I cannot download the email attachments without corruption or the book published by Palm?  And if the book is correct what is wrong with my Centro, how do I fix it or should I just return it?
