Error on iManager
Dear all,
I got an error message on iManager. After login, everything is ok, but when I edit an object, on a kerberos tab, I got this message:
"Authentication Failed. One possible cause could be that the SSL certificate is not properly Installed."
I tried to re-install new OES SP3 but get same problem.
Any help would be much appreciate!

Thansk,
I've discovered the same problem just a few seconds ago.

Error using iManager Setup DNS
I'm trying to setup DNS on our server using iManager. Under Small Business
Setup, Setup DNS and am getting this error
The DNS server object (host , domain fs1) failed to initialize. Error:
eDirectory Interaction Failure
Can't find anything in the KB. Can anybody help me?
Thanks,
KimAnders,
I apologies. I did see that TID and when I went to follow the Fix section,
everything was already setup. After you pointed it out again I re-read it
and noticed that I did not follow the Additionally paragraph under the
steps. Once I did that everything seems OK. Sorry about that. Guess I
need to try and start getting more sleep so I pay attention. :-)
Thanks for helping.

Install iprint with imanager 2.6
hello @all
I installed a oes linux sp2 and updated imanager immediately to 2.6.
Yast now complains, that there is no imanager present, when I try to
install iprint. Answering "yes" to the installation-question just
brings the error "another imanager version has been detected
blahblahblah"...
Is there any workaround for that?
[email protected]think i got a solution:
yast obviously is not needed (as long as all required rpms are
installed) to "activate" iprint, but i had to modify
"/etc/opt/novell/iprint/httpd/conf/iprint_ssl.conf": changed
"localhost" to the fully qualified hostname of my iprint server (see
TID 10098616).
after that i could create a driverstore and an iprint-manager in
imanager 2.6 without any problems.

Hello!
I have Novell Netware 6.5 Small Business with 2 serverlicenses.
First I installed the first server (the one that has the NDS)
PRIMARY_SERVER.
Then I installed the second server (loging in to exsisting NDS)
SECONDARY_SERVER.
Both servers are under the same tree and context.
Then my new SYS-drive on the PRIMARY_SERVER died. I can still see the NDS
from the SECONDARY_SERVER - i presume.
When I get the replasement drive to the PRIMARY_SERVER, how are I going
to install it so that it gets the NDS from the SECONDARY_SERVER and so
the SECONDARY_SERVER logs in correctly to the new promary server.
I don't have any backup of the PRIMARY_SERVER or the NDS due to that the
SYS-drive where only 2 weeks old and the system where not fully installed
yet.
How can I reinstall the PRIMARY_SERVER without loosing the NDS?
Must I reinstall both servers and create a new NDS from scratch again?
Any suggestions?
For the new installation I will run scsi-raid insted of a single U320-
drive.
Thanks
Viktor KarppinenHello again!
Now I've got my new drives...
I folowed the manual and it worked fine. I set the new server back to
master after the installation.
But I canot get my iManager to work at all. I can only login to Remote
Manager.
I get the folowing error:
Novell iManager does not respond on 192.168.0.10.
Unable to find iManager in this eDirectory container.
Would you like to continue searching for iManager?
[Yes] [No]
When I press Yes, I get folowing:
..MYTREE.

..MYORG.MYTREE.
..Apps.MYORG.MYTREE.
..Extend.MYORG.MYTREE.

..uddiserver.uddi.MYTREE.
..uddidata.uddi.MYTREE.
..tmodels.uddidata.uddi.MYTREE.
Any idea what can be wrong?
I updated to the latest service pack with no effect (nw65sp6).
Also the service om port 80 is not working, I get folowing:

I was adding access rules to my border manager 3.9 server and when I apply
the last change I receive an error in imanager that says that i need to
execute fillattr manually.
I don't see the rules!!.
When I try to execute fillattr I allways receive in teh logger screen the
same message
MBAccess Main: failed to migrate Proxy configuration.
Failed. Migration Did not complete successfully.
I don't know how i could resolve this, I transcript the sentence i wrote
in the console
fillattr border cn=admin,o=estudio xxxxxx cn=border,o=bmanager,o=estudio
o=estudio
server name = Border
Server in in a ou called bmanager that is a child of my O that is estudio.
Could someone help me?enzos,

Cluster load/unload scripts - insufficient memory
So I'm trying to add the unload script as per the GroupWise docs for NCS (well the little that there are)
It seems there's a finite list of how much you can have in the script?
Like 16 lines or so?
If I put the entire thing in, I get an "insufficient memory" error in iManager 2.7.3 FTF4
So as it stands right now, I'm unable to put the full unload lines in the scriptYes. You can put them at /opt/novell/ncs/bin if you don't have a better place for them.

Ok, so recently created printers are throwing and error in iManager 2.7.7 or 2.6 -
Exception reading printer control Close
Error Request (CLIENT_ERROR) - bad status code (0x406)
IPP Error: 0x406
I've updated in iprint.npm if applicable. The printers have no spaces in their names. I've deleted the work directory off the imanager server and restarted Tomcat. I've recreated the server certificates and ran the Cool Solutions Certificate Re-creation Script for OES1, OES2 and OES 11 so they now validate, I've restarted the iprint daemons. I am at a loss, is there something I missed that you can point me to?
The last option I'm seeing involves doing a "database" repair but I'd like to avoid that if possible.
Any advice is appreciated - this is on OES2 32-bit with SLES 10 SP4/OES 2 .0.3 (SP3) fully patched.
I could really use some ideas if you have a second everyone. Thank you so much.

Better is to duplicate the issue and then run the iprint gathering tool
to generate an iprint info txt file.
Normally this errors are due to problems connecting to the ldap server
specified on the iprint_ssl.cong file -

Error Extending eDirectory Schema for Radius in iManager
I am working on integrating eDirectory with FreeRADIUS on our OES 11 SP2 servers. I have been following all the steps in the "Integrating Novell eDirectory with FreeRADIUS" guide located here: https://www.netiq.com/documentation/edir_radius/. I did not have any problems installing FreeRADIUS or modifying its config files for LDAP authentication.
I am now stuck trying to extend the eDirectory schema for radius. In iManager, I go to Roles and Tasks --> radius --> Extend Schema, and I keep getting the following error: "RADIUS plugin encountered an error. Click the Details button for more information." When I click "details" it shows the following:

Can anyone give me an idea of what is going on here? Everything I've been able to dig up so far has dealt with schema conflict errors and ssl/tls connection issues. I don't think that is what's going on here. I am getting the same error on multiple servers with eDirectory and iManager installed. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Seems like there is a know bug for this issue, I suggest you to open a SR if you can?

IManager error editing Role Based Entitilements
Hi,
A while back we had to re-create our Organisational CA and server certificates. (Don't ask why...) Everything seemed to go well except for one issue I've been having since.
We have OES2 SP3 (eDir 8.8 SP6) running on SLES 10 SP3.
iManager version is 2.7.4
Identity Manager Version is 3.6.1
When I try to edit a role based entitlement I get the error:
"Unable to obtain an LDAP context. Possible causes: the LDAP server is not running, or the LDAP server is for a tree other than the one iManager was originally set up for, and SSL has not been set up between the iManager server and the LDAP server. Either start the LDAP server, or set up SSL by importing a trusted certificate. "
I have tried deleting the iMKS file and importing the certificate manually as detailed here:
https://www.novell.com/documentation...a/bx8g5g8.html
There are plenty of other pages showing the same method of resolving this issue but none have worked.
Any ideas?

IManager Error: NDS Error -610
We ugraded from BM3.8sp5 to BM3.9SP2 last night. We tested it the last week in our test environment. In de testfase everything went well.
This morning I installed the bm39_iman27 plugins into iManager 2.7.3. There were no errors during installation.
Under Roles and tasks-Bordermanager there are only 4 items (Access Rules, Legacy Filter Configuration, Proxy Services and VPN Services). In the test there were a few more items
(Access Rules, Easy Filter Configuration, Filter Maintenance, Legacy Filter Configuration, List All Firewall Policies, Proxy Services, VPN Services).
While opening for example Proxy Services in production, there are a lot of lines on the logger screen with count and a number. At last there is the Error: NDS Error -610
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Are you trying to use iManager to manage filter exceptions? The missing items are related to
filtering. I just use FILTCFG to manage filters instead of iManager.
Have you checked the Roles and Tasks in the iManager config menu? You might have to update RBS.

OK, there's an issue with DS perhaps. The 610 error is illegal DS name. Could be some sort of problem
in iManager, or perhaps an issue in DS. Do you have a replica on the server? Have you run DSREPAIR on
the server? Do you have this error just when trying to select the proxy option, or do you get to the
server name search field prompt? Do you have a long server name for the BM server?
You can manage BM 3.9 from any iMan 2.7.x that has the plugins installed, including a Windows version
running on your PC. Or an iMan 2.7.x installed in another tree.

IManager error 500 managing cluster services
I have a new OES11 tree with an OES11 cluster. All servers in the tree are OES11. I have the cluster plug installed in iManager and was able to successfully set up and configure the cluster. However, time to time as I go back to check the cluster for some reason, I am getting an iManager 500 error. I am logging in as admin and have tried from 3 different servers running iManager with same result.
I found TID 7010295 and made the sysctl changes that it specifies, however, it did not solve the problem. If I reboot the cluster, I can then manage again, at least in the short term until whatever happens to knock it out service again.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Yes I agree that this has been long time issues. Here is something you can
try next time this happens so that you won't have to reboot. Do this atleast
on the server that is the Master_IP resource.
Just run at the prompt: rcsfcb restart
This hopefully will resolve it. I have had on occasion to have to run that
same command on all nodes in the cluster. It beats the heck out of
restarting the servers just to manage the cluster. -
"A system error occurred" in iManager 2.7.2...
Just built a new BM3.9.2 server using NW65SP8 into an existing tree. All
timesync and replica's all looking fine.
The server added fine as a VPN Server in iManager. However, further
to creating a C2S Profile (tried Default and new one) as soon as I click
OK to exit C2S config, I get:
System error
A system error occurred
Any ideas guys?
Tried rebooting and DSRepair etc
Cheers,

What version of iManager? (IManager framework version number in
installed plugins?)
If you have an old version of iManager, you may have problems
configuring the traffic rules or access rules on BM 3.9sp2. Try more
than one version of iManager (try other servers, try downloading a
Windows version on a PC), and make sure they are patched as far as they
want (need) to go, which is 2.7.3 and a bunch of updated plugins.

Can't add CIFS Share from iManager on OES
I recently install OES and have not been able to add a CIFS share from
iManager .
The error is:
Error: The given volume name could not be found on the specified server.
I've tried entering the path is various ways:
\vol1\share\
\vol1\share
vol1\share\
vol1\share
vol1:\share\
I've recreated the Pool and now have the volume name "VOLUME1" but still no
success.
Logger Screen reports:
GadgetManager......2796 Could not find resource file mapping for stylesheet:
NSSMgmt.xsl
GadgetManager......2796 Could not find resource file mapping for stylesheet:
NSSMgmt.xsl
Trying NCP protocol
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
MarcThe source of the CIFS issue is the cluster snapin.
The CIFS functionally is included in the cluster snapin for cluster
services version 1.6 (NetWare 6.0) and 1.7 (NetWare 6.5).
Unfortunately, with Cluster Services 1.8 (OES and NetWare 6.5 SP3),
Novell dropped the CIFS functionality from the cluster snapin. So when
you install an OES/NetWare server, or when you install SP3 to an
existing Server, you will loose the CIFS snapin.
Note that reinstalling SP3 will not bring you back the CIFS
functionality as it is actually the cause of the disappearence.
To get back the CIFS functionality, you have to get the NCS 1.7 cluster
snapins. The latest version of these snapins can be found in NW65SP2 in
the file NCS.ZIP. Unpack these file somewhere and use the files NCS.JAR
and NCSRES.JAR from this ZIP file to replace the corresponding files of
your ConsoleOne installation.

Error while adding eDirectory replica
Hi folks!
I want to add a replica of our whole eDirectory tree to a new server (OES11.2 SLES11.3).
So I wanted to do so via iManager. (Partitions and Replicas / Replica View / Add Replica)
Everthing looks normal. I see our other servers with added replicas and of course the server with the master image.
For addition information: I did that a lot of times without problems until now.
When I want to add a replica to the new server, i get the following error: (Error -636) The server is unreachable.
I checked the /etc/hosts file and the network settings on both servers.
Ndsrepair looks normal too. All servers are in sync and there are no connection errors. The replica depth of the new server is -1. I get that, because there is no replica on it yet.
But if i can connect from one server to another and there are no error messages, why does adding a replica not work?
Am I forgetting something here?
Every server in our environment runs OES11.2 except the master server which runs OES11.1
Thanks for your help!
