error downloading digital editions have 10.6 says i need 10.7, help!

It sounds like Adobe Digital Editions might require Mac OS X 10.7 now (just based on a search of other people having this problem). I do not currently have a Mac OS X 10.6 machine available to me to test this with though.
Is it possible for you to upgrade from 10.6 to 10.7?

What DVDs are this ?
If it is OSX Snow Leopard Installation DVD then yes this disc contains the BootCamp Drivers version 3.x and is needed after the installation of Windows to install the BootCamp Drivers.
With OSX Lion BootCamp is at version 4.x and the BootCamp Drivers have to be downloaded during use of the BootCamp Assistant in OSX.

You could install the portable Firefox version 3.6 to avoid a conflict with the newer version. If you can contact the person running the page itself, you could advise him that Firefox is now up to version 6, and version 7 will be available soon.

Reinstall iPhoto.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

Your MacBook Air is an Intel-based system. To download the current version (11.2.202.228), go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download it from there.
If there is still a Flash issue, you can try the Google Chrome browser, which has the current Flash built into it, to see if it works any differently with the videos. It's available from https://www.google.com/chrome

Go to iTunes.com, then click on Download iTunes on the top right area, then on the next screen make sure it states iTunes 11.1 on the left side and email is not necessary then click on download now in the blue button. Issue should be resolved

Hey Edgar, how exactly did you do the updates? Are you running iTunes 11.2.2? And you iPod 5 is still running iOS 6.1.2 as your tag shows? or are you running iOS 7.1.1? More info would be helpful. This could well be the notorious Mac Defender - which is an annoying program that tricks you into thinking that your Mac is infected with a virus, when the only infection is Mac Defender itself.
When surfing the web never EVER click on a link that says "Free anti-virus scan" or "Scan now" - they are nearly always scams which will end up infecting your computer. Although Macs are resistant to viruses, they're not resistant to user stupidity.
If you Google "Mac defender" then you'll find plenty of sites with instructions on how to remove this minor nuisance. Take this as a warning that you need to be more careful in your surfing habits.

If it's updates through the Office auto-updater that are having problems, that's probably an issue you'll need to take up on Microsoft's support site. If you're having problems installing Office from scratch and it's saying it can't find Installer, you may need to repair your hard drive. More help will probably be obtained if you post in the Mac OS X 10.6 forum; this forum, where you originally posted, is for help with the Communities themselves.
