Error on MPEG2s
While this error occurs when I try to burn a DVD it does have to do with importing an asset. Because Encore doesn't accept my DIVX files I must change the screen size and convert to an MPEG2 in another app. I can import them into Encore just fine. I can set up the menu(s), links, etc., but when I try to create a DVD I receive the message:
Error at 1:12:12 (or any time). Data rate of this file is to high. Replace with lower rate.
How do I fix this? Are there other apps I can use to change my AVIs into something readable by Encore? I am relatively new to this and any help would be appreciated.
Warm Regards,
Fallon
For these kind of jobs I am using
ProCoder
. There is a considerably less expensive version,
ProCoder Express
, which may be sufficient for your needs.
For a freeware/shareware solution I would suggest to check the "TOOLS" section of
VideoHelp.com
If you want to try with the Cucusoft converter some more, a setting that probably needs to be changed is the one for the
maximum bit rate, or if it is encoding the MPEG-2 in CBR mode (Constant Bit Rate) simply the bit rate. Try lowering it to 7Mb/s (or 7000Kb/s).

I am trying to use some of my presets using MPEG2 format and it is giving me this error: [/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/ame602_mac/main/app/frontend/prj/mac/../../src/Command.cpp-251 9]. I try the system presets that use MPEG2 and I get the same error. I notice if I try to make a new preset, I do not even have the option to choose MPEG2. I only get MPEG4 or MPEG4 (Legacy). I am using AME 7.0.2; if anyone has an idea on why I can't use MPEG2 please let me know.
Thanks,
MikeHi mboory,
Please mention the exact version of Media Encoder CS6 that you are using and also the version of operating system. Please check the below link as well.

Updated to 7.6.2 w/new ipod classic and now mpeg 2 will not play
HI, I just purchased a new ipd classic and was forced to update itunes and quicktime. I have quicktime pro 7 and use Mpeg streamclip daily for various purposes.
After the updates I tried to open an mpeg2 file in streamclip like I always do to encode and I keep getting the error-2048 mpeg2 component needs to be updated.
So I went to apple.com/store/account/downloadable software purchases and my previous purchases of Pro and mpeg 2 were there and I re-downloaded the mpeg 2 and then ran it and restarted.
And I get the same error message. WHen I go on quicktime and click check for update software it tells me quicktime is up to date!
I am pulling my hair out here and need to encode stuff with streamclip, so Any and all help is really appreciated!
ToddWhy not report this as a bug to the Norton folks?
Why is Norton still silently blocking iTunes without telling the user, during an iTunes upgrade?
Norton's been doing this for years....the way it should work, is if Norton sees a new program getting installed, it should ask the PC user whether the new program is trusted/safe & should be allowed. -
Error code -2048 while opening a MPEG2 file
Probably a straigth forward question.
I have captured some HI8 video in various MPEG formats using a Pinnacle Movie Studio Box with Windows. I can import MPEG1 file to my new IMAC G5 however while trying to open a MPEG2 file (which open with RealPlayer on Windows) I get the Quick Time "error -2048 : the file is not a movie file".
Do I need to install QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component?Don't waste your time! I installed the MPEG-2 Component and now Quicktime will "play" the movie but freezes after the first frame. The audio plays; the video just sits there.
This forum is full of people with the same issue, which Apple has not addressed.
It freezes despite having the Pro version, and the latest system and Quicktime.
If you find a solution, let us all know!
The MPEG-2 Playback Component is required.
To further edit the files (and retain the audio)
you'll need additional software.
MPEG Streamclip (free) can convert your MPEG-2 file
to DV Stream that can then be edited in iMovie (and
any other DV editing software). -
Sharing video using MPEG2 comes up with no permission error, what do i do?
When I go to share my video using the MPEG2 setting, and I keeps throwing a permission error. Changing the file output location, running as admin, changing codec settings, making a new project all have not worked.
I also cannot burn to a disc as it throws a transcoding error, but I'm not sure if that's related to the first issue.
I am using Premiere Elements 10.
ThanksChristopher
Thanks for the reply.
You have 2 known Premiere Elements 10 issues that need clearing out of the way to see what, if anything, is behind them.
1. There is a serious problem with Premiere Elements 10 run on a computer that uses a NVIDIA GeForce card.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE10: NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
The answer has been and is to roll back the driver version to about May 2013 (no typing error). In your case, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and the NVIDIA GeForce GT-545
As you see, the oldest driver version is July 1, 2013. That driver version may not be old enough. But worth a try if no where to go.
2. Please install QuickTime latest version on your computer with Premiere Elements.
Once both are ruled out, then back to the present....
1. You say
Every instance of using the MPEG2 codec it has always asked for activation instead of saving the code I put in.
Here is the error message I am getting:
Interesting, since I might expect to see an error message specific to MPEG2 Activation there instead of Error compiling movie.
You report that export to file MPEG2 and burn to DVD disc result in this error. What happens with burn to Folder (4.7 GB)? Same thing?
If none of the above, two possibilities
a. Uninstall, free ccleaner run through, reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
b. Create a new user account with administrative privileges and install and try to run Premiere Elements 10 from there.
Please review and consider.
Thank you.

Getting Export Controller Error When Exporting MPEG2 to High boardband & up
I just got QuickTime Pro and MPEG 2 Playback for Windows. I am getting an Export Controller Error When Exporting MPEG2 to High boardband or to the default settings. The file I am exporting is around 60 MB and when it gets to about 15%, the program errors. However, the program works for Medium and low Board band. If anybody has a solution for my problem, I would love to know.
Thanks! Not sure if this is going to work, but it worked for me. After exporting the movie and I got the error, I noticed that the process "exportController" was still running, so I stopped it from the task manager and am not sure but apperantly that was the problem because once I did that the file open up fine in other players like Winamp. Also after stopping the process the following exports I did seemed to be exported fine without any errors !... worth a shot.

VLC mpeg2 dvb errors after libdvbpsi upgrade
VLC plays back mpeg2 from either dvb-t or mpeg2 files as a garbabled mess since libdvbpsi upgrade.
This is also stopping me-tv from playing dvb-t video as it uses the vlc lib
Issue cured for now by downgrading (1.1.0-1 downto 0.2.2-1)
I'm using a fully up to date x64 system in the UK

Compressor v4.1.3: can't create mpeg2 movie: Error: This Is Null
Using Compressor 4.1.3 and FCPX 10.1.4, I attempt to use compressor to create a MPEG2 movie using the "MPEG2 Program Stream, 15mpbs" option. I was successful once, the first time. But I had a problem with that video in that the audio would play but the video would freeze. So any attempt since then fails with the following error:
Failed 3x Host: [macbook]: Error: this is null.
I don't change any of the video default options. Just using all of the default options presented to me. And it fails.
Seems like a bug in compressor since I'm not changing any options.
Any idea what the problem might be, or how I can create MPEG2 movies using compressor?
Thanks, JimWWhat are your computer specs? Have you made system changes? Did you repair permissions?

I just got the MPEG Streamclip and the MPEG2 Playback so I try to import the video from my homemade dvd to DV, I'm able to see the video on the streamclip but at the time of convertion it give tells me Error: import to dv failier
even if I try to transfer it to MPEG it gives me the error messege
Am I doing something wrong or did I skip a step?JLGPro,
Here's the easiest way. Double click the DVD icon on your desktop. Then Double click on the VIDEO_TS Folder. Switch to "list view" if you haven't already. You'll need to "import" all the .VOB files into iMovie - but here's the catch - you won't hear anything. The muxed sound won't play in iMovie. But don't worry.
Although I don't know what you want to do with importing your home made DVD into iMovie, that being said, the best way is to drag and drop one VOB file at a time right on a Clip Pane. It usually takes from 10-20 minutes for the file to load into iMovie - depends on the file's size. After that one file has loaded into iMovie's Clips Pane - Save. Then launch MPEG StreamClip. Drag and drop the identical VOB file from your DVD into MPEG StreamClip's window. It will ask you if you want to open all files or just one. Click "just one". Example: VTS011.VOB. (Don't worry about the IFO or the BUP files - ignore them.) Then you want to choose FILE, then click on "Demux to AIFF". Save it on your desktop. It will show up as either an audio iTunes aiff file or a QT aiff file - it doesn't matter which, your Mac will be able to play it. Example: VTS011.aiff.
[For organization's sake, create a new untitled folder on your desktop. You can store your audio files there one by one after you have dropped them in iMovie. Then when you're completely finished - trash the audio files. This way if you screw up along the way, you'll still have the audio files in the untitled folder instead of all over your desktop. You could set up the untitled folder from the start and demux aiff from MPEG StreamClip then save to the untitled folder if you want.]
ReLaunch iMovie, if you've closed it. Click on the video file in the Clips Pane to select it and copy. (Command+C) Click in the iMovie clip viewer and paste (Command+V) - Save. (Your video clip will be in the Clip viewer and the Clips Pane - again, if you mess up, you'll still have the original video clip in the Pane to use again.) Then switch to timeline viewer.
Slide iMovie window over and find the aiff sound file on your desktop. Drag it to the timeline's audio section. After it loads, Save and then make sure it is exactly lined up with the video. Save. Click audio to select it. Put Playhead at or near the beginning of the sound file. Then choose Advanced and click "Lock Audio at Playhead". Save. Play the video and make sure the sound is in sync. (Although you shouldn't have to - if needed - adjust the audio left or right until it is in sync.) Save. Move the aiff audio file on your desktop to the untitled folder.
Drag & Drop (or import) the next VOB file into the iMovie Clips Pane. Save. Example: VTS012.VOB.
Relaunch MPEG StreamClip if you've closed it, then drag and drop the next VOB file onto MPEG StreamClip's window. Example: VTS012.VOB. Repeat what you did with the first one: choose FILE then Demux to AIFF - save on desktop or untitled folder. Go back to iMovie and copy the next video clip in the Pane then paste it in the Clip Viewer. Save. (Now you have 2 clips side by side in the viewer) Switch to the video timeline viewer and drag & drop the VTS012.aiff sound file into the sound area in iMovie. Line up exactly with the video clip and Save. Play to check the sound is in sync. Adjust if necessary. Save. Click sound file to select, move playhead near or at the start of the audio file and choose Advanced then click on "Lock Audio Clip at Playhead". Move the aiff sound file on your desktop into the untitled folder. Then continue this procedure until all the VTS.VOB video and demuxed aiff audio files are in iMovie. Now you're entire DVD is in iMovie and ready to be edited. If that's what you want to do. Adjust the sound volume, add sounds or music. Delete parts of the video. Add transitions, titles, effects, etc.
NOTE: If you have a header - a Title File - then you will have to drag & drop that into iMovie's Clips Pane also, then copy and paste into the video clip viewer. You should do that first. If the header has sound, you'll have to drag and drop that Title VOB file into MPEG StreamClip's window and demux the sound to aiff also, then drag and drop it into iMovie. The header or Title file on the DVD is: VIDEO_TS.VOB.
Another way is to use MPEG StreamClip to import your entire DVD. Then you have to export sections (about 4 per hour) to DV. (Each will be a QT .dv file) Then drag and drop the DV file into iMovie's Clips Pane. Copy, then paste into the Clip viewer. Doing it this way, the sound will be okay in iMovie. But it's easy to screw up when exporting several DV files from MPEG StreamClip. The most common problem is that you miss a tiny fraction of the original DVD. And if you export by overlapping, so you don't leave out any video, you then have to edit each video clip in iMovie to delete the overlapped sessions. I find this method more time consuming and easier to mess up. But if you would rather do it this way, put in a reply and I will post step by step directions in another reply.
Good Luck and take care,
JAM
P.S. This is what the files look like inside your DVD VIDEO_TS Folder (or very similer to this) Except they all have an icon to the left of them. Remember, ignore the BUP and IFO files.

iMac G5 2.0 GHZ 1.5 RAM, 250 internal HD, 160 ext. HD Mac OS X (10.4.1) -
I still distribute most FCP projects via DVD. No matter which MPEG2 setting I use in Compressor 4 I get an error - even Apple's default DVD setting. Has anybody successfully output an FCP X project to compressor and then out on a DVD?
Anthony, thank you very much - this works, though I thought I had tried your process previously without success. I've tried so many things who knows. I've had zero luck going with the Send to Compressor or Export Using Compressor Settings under the Share menu. I'm also finding Compressor 4 to be a real dog on my system even though I have a brand new quad core machine with 8G of RAM. Prior to receiving your post I did come up with a different work process. Using Export Movie from FCP X and then loading the result in Compressor 3 works flawlessly. Thanks again!

Receiving "internal error" when trying to burn mp3 disc from playlist
I'm trying to burn an mp3 disc from a playlist that I've created. Unfortunately, I keep getting an error. I'm currently running iTunes 11.0.2 on my iMac which is currently running 10.8.3. I've done this many times before, and this is the first that I've had this problem. Here's the error I keep getting:
The attempt to burn a disc failed. An internal error occured.
If you want to retry the current failed burn, click on Retry. If you want to go to the next disc burn, click on Next. Otherwise click on Cancel.
Here's how it goes down:
I've created a very long playlist which will require the use of multiple discs.
I right-click on the playlist and select to burn the playlist to disc.
I then get the usual burn settings pop-up menu where I select the "MP3 CD" format with a preferred speed of "Maximum Possible"
Note: Since experiencing this error, I have tried varried speeds ranging from 8x to 24x; I still get the error.
Note Also: I have tried selecting "Audio CD" instead, and the playlist will burn and the error does not appear. This is not an option I want to go with, however, because of the length of the playlist — it would take, like, 25 discs...
For a moment iTunes will read the disc, then ask permission for the playlist to be split across multiple discs. I say "ok".
At this point, iTunes will say that it is initiallizing for about a split second then immediately say it's finalizing and spit out the disc. This is when the error pops up.If I select to "Retry", it doesn't retry to burn; it just saves a .txt file to my desktop that is a copy of the error message. There's no error code/number or anything, though - just the exact same message. "Cancel" and "Next" seem to behave correctly, though.
I have tried repairing disk permissions and restarting my computer. I've also tried using different brands of CDs: Memorex CD-R and Innovera CD-R. The error persists.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Some people (for reasons I don't know) have problems with Dynamic Link
What happens if you export MPEG2-DVD from Premiere Pro... import the 2 files (audio and video) into Encore... and do ALL of your authoring work in Encore? -
Hi all,
i´m running in problems generating MPEG2 (m2v) with compressor.
That´s what i´m usually doing (worked 100 times before, last time 28.03.2008):
I´m rendering out a video MJPEG A PAL from AfterEffects.
Then I´m using a Compressor Droplet to generate a approval Version for my clients (QT Sor3 halfres) and a MPEG2 file as final delivery.
But now the MPEG2 Export fails. Find the error report at the end of this thread.
I tried it with the last files when it worked, also failed.
I tried another MPEG2 Preset (the apple ones) -> failed.
Playing MPEG2 Files using QT-Player and VLC works fine.
Any help highly appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

</services>The source frame rate is 23.976, so I guess I would go with 24p. My intention is to upload the file to a streaming video website. They have their specs laid out for me, I just happen to be new to all of this so I am having a tough time meeting them.
My question right now is, if i have selected the MXF OP1a XDCAM option with XDCAM 50 NTSC (4:2:2) video codec, will the export be in mpeg2 and what will my bit rate be? I have no way of viewing the bit rate with this configuration.
Here is a screen grab of their required specs: -
Wudfrd.sys error on blue screen, fix?
Is there a fix for the wudfrd.sys error ? Relating to the compatibility of iTunes with 64 bit processors? B/c I want to update my music without getting a crippling error.
I have pasted a DXDIAG incase it might help.
Foudn this through google: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933607 Do you think it would help? I don't want to try it if it will do somethign i don't want it to.
Thanks

Bug Check 0xED: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
When you restart your computer or upgrade to Windows XP, you receive the "STOP 0x000000ED UNMOUNTABL...
Don, this situation can often be repaired by booting to the Recovery Console and running..
chkdsk /r
It runs for a long time.
If you don't have an XP installation CD, you may need a floppy drive.

Error generating movie Adobe Premiere Elements 11
Hello,
I recently upgraded from Adobe Premiere Elements 8 to 11 (11.0).
My system is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, running on Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.5 GHz, 4GB Ram, with 75GB free diskspace.
My input movies are AVCHD 1440x1080 25i video's (MTS files).
Everything is running fine. Editing goes smoothly (even smoother than when I was still using PE8). So in that sense I'm very satisfied and I think my system can handle it well. It doesn't seem to run out of memory, etc.
However, now I want to generate the output movie. The movie is about 10 minutes long and has some music and transitions under it. Previewing the movie goes fine.
I've tried uploading it to Youtube (HD 1440x1080 file). The progress monitor stays at 0% for 5 minutes and then suddenly goes 2 100% in a few seconds and afterwards starts to upload the movie. However, the movie that's actually uploaded contained only the first 4 seconds of the video. When I tried again, it was about 14 sec.
So, then I tried generating movies locally on the PC. I tried:
Adobe Flash HD 720p.
MPEG2 HDTV 1080i 25
MPEG2 PAL DVD Widescreen
and some other formats (can't exactly remember which).
All of them ended with errors: "Error compiling movie", with cause unknown.
So, I haven't been able to generate any movie and I can't find out why it fails.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
MichielThese are not specifically for PreElements, but since other Adobe products have the same "core" in many instances, worth reading
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option
Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395

Plus http://forums.adobe.com/thread/562941
Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help
Use Taiyo Yuden single layer or Verbatim Two layer Or Falcon Pro for inkjet printable Two layer
