Error on start up: The selected location is already in use

I just installed Final cut pro X on my 13" macbook pro with retina display.
When I launch FCP X it is gving me the follwing error message: The selected location is already in use "The storage location "xyz" on this computer is already in use by "(null)" on "(null)". To access the location, quit Final Cut Pro on "(null)" or remove the location"
Where "xyz" is the name of my home folder.
I tried repairing the disk using disk utility and restarted the computer multiple times. But this did not resolve the issue.

It's one computer - a Mac Pro Tower but the user (admin and only user) is sarahcowie.
The whole OS was erased and reinstalled on a new hard drive but this problem still persists.
I am a very very experienced mac user, I need an anser from someone that has actually used FCPX and experienced exactly the same issue.
So as well as completely starting fresh (and I mean completely from scratch without loading previous content) that worked for a while, I have also
Rebooted many times
Reset parameter RAM
Deleted preferences, saved states and cache
Its a very annoying isse and seems that a lot of people have had but the reality is that nobody has identified the problem and the generic reboot (that I agree should always be tried) is not the answer.

Welll I don't see fast how to edit my reply. (the projects and events on external drives show up, but there is a error when FCP-X started up with the message that the "home folder user" is in use
and can not be used by SAN becase of the same name????)
First I did use Preference Manager 3.2 to trash the preference but that did not solve my problem.
Then I repaired permissions. I did not solve the problem.
Waht solve dthe problem is next.
I started my MacBook Pro is safe mode (shift power on) Then I repaired permissions.
Then I copied the Final Cut Events en Projects folders from my home folder Movies to a external dive (in a folder so that with start up it did not show up in. (And trashed the project and event folder in my movies folder)
I restarted the Mac Removed again the Preference.
Then I restarted FCP-X and it started up without a problem.
Then I copied the content of my old folders to the new folders in my movies home folder. (not just the folders Final Cut Events/Projects)
Now it is working correctly.

I tried to play my iTunes and suddenly get an error message that says "The song (name) could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it now?" It happens on all my tunes and each one I select ends up with a "?"

I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section. If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there

Active Directory error message "the following object is not from a domain listed in the Select location forestB\username

    "forestA" is my forest it is a Windows 2008 Server Enterprise Edition
domain controller using Active Directory and the UI.
    In my forest ("forestA") trust relationship I created a "One-Way, Out-going"
forest trust with Forest-Wide authentication so that a different forest user(s) or
group(s) with a different admin in a forest named “forestB” can access the resources in my “forestA”
    But also forestB needs to create a "One-way, Incoming" forest trust so that
I can either add the user(s) or group(s) from “forestB” into to a "Global Security - Group"
in my "forestA" or I can
add user(s) as "domain user(s)" from “forestB” into my "forestA".
    The problem is that when I right click the global group in my forestA and then
properties, when I click "Members" and then the "Add" button when I type
"forestB\username" I get an error message from Active Directory stating:
    "the following object is not from a domain listed in the Select location
dialog box, and is therefore not valid: forestB\username".
    Am I doing something wrong when creating the one-way trust in my
“forestA” or is the one-way trust being created wrong by the other domain admin in the other “forestB”?
    Or could I possibly need to select "Change Domain" or "Change Domain Controller"
before adding the users or Groups to my forestA from forestB?
    That is why I am asking
how do you add an Active Directory user from one forest into another forest?

    That is the end result.
    What I was trying to do was that I was trying to
bring in the user(s) and group(s) from “forestB” into
my “forestA” Global group.
    Later on I was going to add the user(s) or Global groups(s) that I brought into my dc in my forestA
into the domain local groups on my member servers in my forestA.
    So since the error message is:
"the following object is not from a domain listed in the Select location dialog box, and is therefore not valid: forestB\username".
Does your response
mean only Global group(s) from forestB not domain user(s) from forestB have
to been added to domain local groups in forestA?
Or is it also possible to add Global group(s) from “forestB” to Global group(s) in my “forestA” and if so
how without getting the above error message?

I use Final Cut Pro recreationally mostly, but I got hired for a project by chance. I don't use any external hard drives, just my disk. I have an Apple Time Capsule for backups. Suddenly I got an error message when I open it "The selected SAN location is already in use." The subscript reads, "The storage location "newtonfamily" on this computer is already in use by "newtonfamily" on "Newton-Familys-iMac". To access the location, quit Final Cut Pro on "/Users/newtonfamily/Movies/" or remove the location," and has only an okay button, which quits FCPX when you choose it. None of my stuff loads in the project panel or event library. What do I do to get it back.

I just watched a recorded show in a series from my DVR (located in the living room) fine in my bedroom (non-DVR). When I went to watch the next show, I get this error: "DVR Message: Error: Unable to play the selected program. Please try again later."
However, if I go into my living room and try to watch that show from my DVR, I can watch it.
Any suggestions on what is happening?

Hi there, I am very sorry about the trouble you are having with your DVR playback. Here are a few things that you can try to get this issue resolved. First try to unplug the DVR from the power for a full minute and restore power to the unit. If that does not work try unplugging the power from your FIOS router for 30 seconds and restore power to the unit. The light that is critical is the Coax LAN light if that light is not lit the DVR will not be able to communicate with the other set-top boxes.

Final Cut X read "The selected SAN location is already in use". Now will not even open. Any advice would be really grateful.

Initially while working on two projects I began to run out of disk space on the external hard drive. Soon I was given this message:"The selected SAN location is already in use" To try and remedy the situation I decided to move one project to another harddrive that I use for another project. Initially it then showed nothing(projects and events) on either harddrive after that. Now FCX won't even boot up at all. Please help. I'm approching deadlines on all of these projects.

I spent 2 hours with Apple technical support and even did a remote session as they looked at my desk top live.
1st the bad news, there is no real solution nor is there an answer as to why this happens. The SAN is supposed to only work through fiber optics and is strictly designed for multiple users accessing the same drives … It should only be activated manually and only through fiber optics . No one at Apple could understand why this is happening, why did my thunderbolt disk appear to be on a SAN and unexplainably unable to be accessed by my computer because it was being accessed by my computer. A conundrum indeed
The semi good news is that I was able to open the original session eventually.
Here is the workaround… And it ain't pretty .
If you can access the disk on the desktop copy the whole content of the disk to another drive , this is because you will have to reformat the drive which is giving you the problems.
Format the original problematic drive and after you have cleared all of the user preferences for Final Cut X relaunch Final Cut.
Final Cut should now see the drive without any of the SAN issues.
Start a new event on the original reformatted drive and give it a somewhat generic name so as not to confuse it with the original event that went bad.
Reimport into this new fresh event all of the original media ( video/audio/graphic ) files and copy them to the reformatted drive.
Do not start a new project related to this new event
Shutdown Final Cut X
Now go to the drive in which you have copied all of your original files and copy the original problematic Final Cut Projects folder right next to the Final Cut Events folder at the root level of the newly formatted drive.
The new drive should only have 2 folders in it now, one is the new Final Cut Events folder that you created by copying over all of original media and the 2nd one should be the Final Cut Projects folder which you just copied back from the backup drive.
I only had to copy the one project which started giving me problems with the SAN issue, because it was the only FCX on my drive at the time therefore I kept intact the original Final Cut folder hierarchy, theoretically even if you have many different projects inside that Final Cut Projects folder it should work, but if that doesn't work try only copying the problematic Final Cut Project.
Start Final Cut again and it should read everything except that the media will be off-line ( unlinked ) and you should be able to re-link all of the media if the files had not change names somewhere along the process.
The one caveat about this is that my edits were off against the music. It almost seems like there was some kind of format issue. Something was lost in translation . My project was only 2 min. long and it had about 50 edits. The 1st three edits were completely off after that it was hard to tell ,some would be on some would be off.
Now I was going on about 2 hours of sleep so i am a bit blurry but what I am certain is that the 1st few edits were 100% off by at least 60 frames.
Again this may have just worked in my instance and it may not be applicable every time this problem pops up.
BTW whenever I connected an older drive everything worked fine there were no SAN issues.
I am on an iMac 27 inch mid 2011, 3.4 GHz Intel core i7 with 16 GB of RAM
running Mac OS X version 10.7.4
and Final Cut X 10.0.4 and
my drive is a Western Digital my book thunderbolt Duo 4 TB formatted in RAID 0
as a final note I tried everything I read on every forum before calling Apple.

Go to to your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder in the Finder and then enter Time Machine. Go back to the last backup that has the domain file, select it and use the Restore button.

I like to identify the selection parameter of already executed transaction.
SM20 shows me which transaction was executed on which day and by whom.
But it does not give me it is executed with which kind of selection parameters.
For example, MD02/03 was executed many times, I like to know who execute it with parameter "2" for "create purchase req.".
How can I know it?

I don't think so that SAP stores this information anywhere.

The resource name is already in use. You must select a unique name for the resource.

I am using Project Server 2010 PWA.
I have created resource of type 'Work' in Resource Center. Server Settings -> Resource Center. Click
New Resource. I already assigned few task to these Resources.
Now I want these Resources can login into PWA site. I tried to add New User from Server
Settings -> Manage user. But I am unable to do so as I am getting the

authentication. From Resource Center I tried Edit
Resource but we does not have any option there to give Windows User Account.

You should edit fhe existing resource from the resource center, check the option "the resource can connect to Project Server" and set a valid user account.

HT201250 My time capsule is not allowing a back up indicating the 'time capsule is already in use'. The system is set to back up and remove the oldest back up so it is not 'in use' as far as can see. I believe something is in error. Thoughts?

Pull the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule
Count to ten
Plug the power cord back into the back of the Time Capsule
Wait a few minutes, then try a backup
