Error on step in process chain

Hello All,
I have just scheduled a process chain immediately and it is running. One step (A full update) has gone red with error "Object requested is currently locked by user DCKIBUUK" - DCKIBUUK is my username. 11 out of 26 Data Packages have processesed OK. Data Package number 12 is where the error occured. Please advise on what to do.

The first thing is to unlock the node of the process chain which has been locked by you. So you need to come out of the infopackage in question.
Now, right-click on the node that failed and use the "Repeat" option. If the repeat does not exist , you have 2 options :
1. manually run the remaining steps
2. Manually make the system believe that the failed node went in successfully by forcing the status of the step to "G".

This is due to a lock on the objects which is being used by ur load.
Even if master data used by this would be in a lock by an attribute change run. wait till that attribute change run finishes and then repeat.
If this target itself is locked by someother process like rollup , compression , this error would appear. In this case also repeat the step after those locking process finish.
some general locks during loading:
Sometimes parallel processing in DTP might lead to this, its better set the DTP and infopackage in serial processing. In this case change the settings and then repeat the process.
There is a specific case in which the Serial DTP gets locked by itself, in this case repeat it untill it succeeds.
You can identify the above scenario as below. This is applicable only if the DTPs processing mode is serial.
if u see in SM 37 this load would have three DTP processes running.
it should have only two.
In this case cancel the process and repeat it untill u get it right.

Error while collecting the process chain in a transport request

Hi Gurus,
I am getting an error while collecting my process chain in a tranpsort request.I have to transport the request from DEV to QA system.
When in RSA1--->transport connection i drag & drop the chain from left to right side pane then the Error occurs.
1.Object 'REQUDELZPAK_48RZW8GZX87CNEH7S897TFQSD' (RSPV) of type 'Process Variants' is not available in version 'A'

i though it was the problem of patch level sap note(966131).
Accordingly i tried collecting process chain in the request where the patch level is high(24).But same error is seen.
I have activated chain again & then tried collecting the request i the process chain.But did not solve the error.
I have to collect Process chain in a transport request.Can you help me out to solve the problem?

Try to set the Process Chain Start to Immediate(background jobs) in the schedule, because this will trigger the process chain once tranported and may cause similar errors.

RFC ERROR while running BI Process Chain

I'm recieving the following error while running certain Process Chains in BI.
RFC error: FAILED
RFC Message: FAILED
The system log in BI shows the following.
Communication error, CPIC return code 017, SAP return code 672
672 Logon to Netweaver failed
Other process chains work correctly via CPS.
Any Ideas?

This looks like a BW problem. Do you get the same message when you submit it manually in SAP?

Save Hierarchy step in process chain

Hi All,
I have a process chain which include the following steps.
Z* program([for loading multiple hierarchies |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/e0d5c74a-8a39-2d10-2d8b-9e1971cb053a]) --> Save hierarchy --> Change run
In the above scenario, I cannot include a step for the hierarchy save/activate because the hierarchy is not being loaded in this chain through an infopackage.
And I learned from the [site|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/3d/320e3d89195c59e10000000a114084/content.htm], that 'Save hierarchy' has to be included after loading the hierarchial data.
So, is there any procedure for including any step in process chain for activating the hierarchial master data..?
If I want write a Z* program for activating hierarchial data, which programs/ function modules are used to activate hierarchial master data..?

Hi,
There is an option in the infopackage used to load hierarchy -- to activate upon loading.
tick that option and remove the hierarchy name from Save hierarchy variant of the process chain.
Ticking this option will activate your hierarchy automatically after loading.No need to explicitely save it.

Error in First step of Process Chain

Hi everybody,
i have created a process chain with a start process (direct scheduling) to InfoPackage to load into InfoCube-so delete indexes and generate indexes were automatically inserted becoz of default chain option.
i have checked the chain-- the message was chain is ok but when i activated the chain it gave a error message job-delete index cannot be scheduled return code-8. In addition to this, i checked the status of indexes and DB statastics at cube level and it's showing green light. Further to that, when i checked sytem log, it is displaying
"> illegal values in step one....the Job_submit was not defined
properly..???"
Any inputs to this topic highly appriciated.

Make sure you have the following steps in order in your process chain.
1.Start Process Variant.
2.Delete Indexes step.
3.Load data.
4.Create Indexes.
5.Roll up (if required)
6.Compression(if required)
7.Completion job.
8.PSA deletion(if required)
I process chain should allways start with a start Process variant step.

Failure of infopackage step in process chain - Error in source system.

Hello Experts,
We are experiencing this during the execution of process chain.
All the step for data loads within BW(DSO to DSO, DSO to cube) are failing with error -
- Error in source system
- Error during data selection
Please note that we are 3.5 data flow and thus, data load within BW is through emulated data source and the infopackage. Steps running such infopackages for emulated data source are failing in process chain with error above.
Surprisingly, when I run the infopackage manually out of process chain it runs successful without any error. But when I run through process chain it fails.
Any clue or suggestion? We have already tried doing re-initialization for infopackage.

Hi,
When we run data loads thru process chain it will run in background. as per the available background application servers your request will be processed.
as my your during your load time server will be on high load.
please check your system busy schedule and schedule your process chains.
Check Tx - SM50, if you have less application servers, then ask basis to create few more to application servers to process the request at busiest time.
check about increasing parallel processing and default data transfer settings.
go to info package---> menu scheduler--> data settings for default data transfer.

Error while Activating a process chain

Hi,
I have just modified the existing process chain with the new info package for loading into ODS and then delta update into the Info Cube.
when i am clicking on the option schedule and activate.
Its giving error as :
"InfoPackage ZPAK_49RJW545FSO2MB3NF1MIZ9NJ9 is
generated; NOT able to be used as loading variant"
This is a IP, which is used for delta update from ODS to cube.
I have checked the IP, its fine like i can do the delta through this pacakge manually.
Please help, points will be rewarded....

Go and check whether the Info Package exist ,
You can check in Rsa1 and give IP name and find it.
If your IP is not there please create it,
If tehre please check the all parameter associated with it.

Error while creating a process chain

Hello BI Gurus,
I have activated the Business Content Scenario in Plant Maintenance for Infocube 0PM_C08(Measurement Results).
It provides a datasource -> infocube flow,through DSO with transfer and update rules.(3.X scenario)
I have two questions -
1.When I am trying to create a process chain for this scenario for regular delta loads(Loading from the datasource - > DSO - > infocube),
Start - >Execute InfoPackage->Activate DSO Data ->
Then when i insert the Execute Infopackage for the load step from DSO to Infocube in the process chain and check it, it is giving an error saying "InfoPackage ZPAK_D50AJ26831X6L4IIOTZTSXWAE is generated; NOT able to be used as loading variant ".
I got this infopackage by right clicking on the context menu and going to Additional Functions -> Update 3.x data to Data targets.
Why am I getting this error and how to resolve it, bcos when i load it manually it is working fine?
2.If the error is because I did not use a infopack created by me, then how to create a infopack for loading to the infocube from DSO in BI7, because when i select from the Context Menu for creating infopack, it is taking me to the already generated IP ?
Also instead of using the 3.X mechanisms, if I decide to create a DTP, will the transformation created with it automatically map all the rules in the "Update Rules" for all fields?

Error while running FICO process chain

Hi Experts,
While monitoring the FICO related process chain.I got an error due to which the loading of the process chain stoped.
The Error occured at DTP level and the displayed error messages are like this
Aggregation Behaviour of InfoObjects Couldnot be read()
Operation Could not be carried out for
Exception xxxxxxxxxx locked.
Can any one help me out of how to fix this problem

"Save Hierarchies" step in Process chain getting failed

Hello all,
After searching thoroughly through various links / forums, i failed to get a solution. So, I am posting here.
Recently we had a system copy. After that, in Quality system - "Save all Hierarchies" step in PC is getting failed.
I ran the process chain for 3 times till now:
1) Sometimes, it fails at batch monitor itself with UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION runtime error.
2) Sometimes, it fails saying "Error 0 when reading PSA 1" & "No hierarchy found for the selection criteria entered".
When it fails with "Error 0 when reading PSA 1", then the above Hierarchy info package which is green automatically turns RED again with Process monitor saying "No PSA tables for the selection criteria".

Things I did:
1) Tried replicating & activating the Transfer rules and Data source.
2) Repeated the step, as suggested in one post.
3) Refreshed the OLTP hierarchies in Infopack. selections.
I have attached a screenshot of a sample Data source which says Modified, though the transfer rules are active. Also, the process chain sample.
Please let me know, if someone has faced this issue. Whatelse did I miss? Any clue.

Hi Raman,
I couldn't retransport, but i removed it from schedule and re-activated it. But, i think the issue lies with one of the Info objects 0PROFIT_CTR.
Because, when i tried to check the hierarchy structure; there are duplicate entries for one code. Can we delete one of them? Is it preferable.
I tried using OSS and used a program RSR_REPAIR_INFOAREAHIER but this showed no errors.
Any clue?

Hierarchy failure in "Save hiererachies' step in process chain.

In process chain I am getting an error stating hierarchy loaded with requestXXXXXXXXXXXXX could not be activated.
step: Save hierarchies.
even though the above step is in failure state, the chain execution gets completed with status red.
temporary solution:
we are manually turning the status to green through program(SE38- rspc_process_finish).
this happening on every time the chain has run.
any suggestions on this for a permanent fix.

Error Warning MSG in Process Chain

Hi PPl,
I created a PC which loads from APO into ODS and then into an INFOCUBE. But when i check the PC it says the following error msg.
A type "Update ODS Object Data (Further Update)" process cannot precede process "Execute InfoPackage" var. ZPAK_3YOW9HXWVCZ6BVZO.
Also when i schedule the PC it works fine till ODS activation but then it doesn't work from there. Please help me withthis issue. Thank u

Hello,
U have placed the (update cube from ODS) step before an infopackage step in the process chain.That is why it is not working.
Once the ODS activation is happening,the wrong sequence of steps is causing the chain to get stuck.
Please reorganize your chain as follows..
Steps should be in order..
-Start variant.
-Load data from APO to PSA(execute infopackage step)
-Update from PSA to ODS(read PSA and update data target step)
-ODS activation step
-Drop indexes on the cube.
-Delta update infopackage step for update from ODS to Cube(use infopackage step or use the 'update ODS object data(further update)' step..I think u can use one of the 2 processes..I have used the infopackage process)
-create indexes step
-build DB statistics step
(U do not need update from PSA step while updating data from ODS to Cube,as data loading when source system is myself BW system,is not done through PSA..usually).

Failind AND step of process chain

Hi all
I am facing problem with AND step in one process chain.
AND step is failing as soon as chain is triggered.
All the proceses before AND are executing properly with GREEN Status.
"This AND process is not waiting for event RSPROCESS, parameter 4BYB726KFX6RHP8SWWPP1CIR9" is the message displayed... parameter mentioned is a DTP.

Did you transport the process chain again?
Go to edit mode of the process chain, right click on AND, maintain and press Ok ! try to activate the process chain again and see if that shows any error.
