Error opening images in CS4

Hello,
i've installed Adobe Photoshop CS4 on my computer with other apps, such as Adobe Bridge CS4, Adobe Extension Manager CS4 and others.
It runs normally, but when i would open an image file (any type) or PSD it freezes for a few seconds and then it shows me an error message "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working". My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and my graphic card is NVIDIA GeForce 7025 (drivers updated to the newest version). Where's the problem???

Is the latest driver current for that card? Latest might not be good enough if nVidia has dropped it out of support.
You could try disabling the OpenGL Drawing setting in Edit - Preferences - Performance. If that works around the problem, and if nVidia isn't actively releasing new drivers, you may need to get a new video card.

After opening RAW images in Camera Raw and clicking 'Open images' I often receive an error "Could not process request due to program error." On a second, third try I am usually able to open the images.
Raw images are from Nikon D5100, Camera RAW version 8.3,

Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit

also affected their PSE 7 and 8. If those limits don't apply, it would be good to know authoritatively.

Can´t open images in cs4

I´ve just installed CS4 on my computer. There´s no problem starting the program but when I try to open an image it first appear but in a second I get a shut down message that say Adobe Photoshop CS4 has encounted a problem and has to be terminated.
I´ve tried to reinstall three times but the same problem reoccur. I can open a picture in Camera Raw and Bridge but as soon as a export in to CS4 for it terminates.
Any clues?

Try starting Aperture with the command and option keys held down. You'll get 3 options.
Try each, starting at the top, in order, checking after each to see if it fixes the issue.

Can't Open JPG images in CS4

I reformated my computer a few days ago, and I have not had time to install all the programs I have used.
My digital camera is Kodak and it came with the software that I could edit my pictures. However, I never use it for editting, for I use photoshop. I decided not to install the Kodak software, but just use USB to transfer digital pictures to the computer. When I open the USB drive, the pictures are transferred and ca be viewed in Windows image viewer. The file names are short like 00001, 00002, something like that. However, when I attempt to open these pictures taken from the digital camera in photoshop, the file names become long with brackets. The photoshop says that the files are not in the right format, so they cannot be opened.
Same thing with the pictures taken from my new cell phone. The phone takes picture in jpg only format. When I connect the USB to transfer the pictures to the computer, I can view the pictures in Windows images. The file name is preset to "image001, image002, and etc." However, when I open the photoshop CS4 and then attempt to open the same pictures, the file names become very long with brackets. Photoshop says that the pictures cannot be open with their formats.
What can I do to open picture files taken from my digital camera and phone in photoshop directly?

Something you installed is trying to translate the image format and alter the files.
You'll have to track down what you did install that could be doing something that evil.

the canon 5d markIII camera raw files to dng copies which should then open in photoshop cs4.

Flash cs4 mac - Error opening URL '/:Users:someting.swf' - Not a "loading external content" problem

Hello.
I am having a weird problem when trying to test a movie or publish preview -> flash on mac with Leopard os.
The result is a blank movie with the usuall "movie not loaded" if u right click on it and the output returns the "Error opening URL 'the path of the swf here'.
This has nothing to do with loading external files or something like that. It happens even in blank movies and it gives the same error if I try to open a swf from flash ide.
I can publish the project or export the movie with no problem at all.
I can preview the movie in html. I can run all the swf files in my hard disk, network, usb stick, dvd etc., but when I try to open any of these files from flash ide I got that stupid error.
Its not something that stops me from working in flash ide but its slow to export movie any time I want to test it.
Things that I've tried so far but nothing worked:
Update the flash cs4 to the latest version
Update the flash players
Restored the release flash player as default player (I am using as default the debug player)
Cleared the preferences
Move the flash cs4 folder to another location in hd
Saved the fla document first before testing the movie (in different places with or without spaces in document name or folder)
Give read & write permissions for everyone for flash.app, players and for fla files when saved first before test movie
Unistall and install the application 3-4 times.
Test every as version just in case.
Also I've checked the folders when testing movie and I can see that it creates an swf file, which I can run it outside flash ide (the one that the flash ide player cannot load) with no problem.
The mac os has the default set up as it came. Nothing chnaged in permissions or security settings.

But I don’t think the code is the problem here . This
happens on every file I load when I am using a relative path to the
content, regardless of how I load the content (XML object,
loadMovie, MovieClipLoader, etc…) and the same code executes
perfectly on every other machine in the office(Mac and PC).
I’m more concerned with the semi-colons and .swf filename
that Flash is putting into my relative path on the error message.
Is that normal?

Difference in ACR processed image when opened in PS CS4

I shot some images with a Sony A900 and CZ 85 lense at the weekend. I just opened one in ACR, made a couple of corrections and then opened it in PS CS4. The opened image is significantly redder than what I am seeing in the preview in ACR. The opened image is in Prophoto at 16 bit. I am using the latest patch levels on a calibrated Eizo CG222W monitor. I've never seen this happen before on other cameras.
Any suggestions?

Can't open camera RAW image in CS4/Bridge with Win 8.1. Worked fine with XP

I upgraded from Win XP to 8.1 and got a new computer in the process. I'm using CS4, and I think that works okay, except it does not recognize a RAW file. Bridge won't open thumbnails for RAW files, and if I try to open one it doesn't open it in Bridge; it goes straight to CS4 and that says it's 'not the right kind of document'. It doesn't matter if the file is on the hard drive or on a Canon card in a reader. Bridge will display thumbnails for JPG files and open them in CS4. I did all that, in the order you recommended. I downloaded, expanded and installed all three updates. I then checked the start page for CS4 and it is at 11.0.2. I also rebooted, but Bridge still won't display thumbnails of RAW files, will not open a RAW file in Bridge but sends it to CS4 which still says it is not the right kind of document. If I try to open a RAW file in CS4 directly, I do get thumbnails, but it won't open the file. On a more positive note, I called a friend who also has CS4 and who also recently bought a new computer. However, his is a laptop with Win 8 Professional. He had not tried to use Photoshop since he got the new laptop, and he discovered that he had the very same problem. However, downloading the updates fixed him right up. My new machine is a desktop with Win 8.1. What do I do now?

It sounds like your file associations are messed up and Reader is trying to open your .jpg files. Is this correct?

Error accured in Fireworks CS4

I am trying to open a photoshop cs4 psd file in fireworks cs4 with the option "Maintain layer editability over appearance" keep on getting "could not complete your request an error occurred". Other psd files open, but I have had other file opening problems with fireworks before, for instance upon opening a psd file fireworks closes. All the adobe programs are all from the same suite, why arn't they playing nicely together. Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

In the past when fireworks has crashed I have ended up painstakingly deleting certain layers one by one and then trying to open them in fireworks. Once Id find the culprit or culprits I would re make the images or text (Usually text in fact always, so far). Then open in fireworks successfully.   Its all a lot of work, but I tried just about everything else including fixes from a Google search that id find.

Is it possible you made a typo there? My Photoshop CS4 is fully up to date, and all I have is this file:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.0\VersionCue.dll
Note that there is no .01 in the path, just .0.
In any case, a missing DLL error probably indicates you need to reinstall Photoshop.
