Error - oracle.dss.d4o.administration.D4OConnectionException-D4O-1103 Error

Hi
We have the following configuration installed,
1. Oracle 10G enterprise edition 10.2
2. Application Server Control 10.1.2.0.2
3. Analytic Workspace Manager 10.1.04
The D4OSYS user is unlocked, but still when we try to manage the discoverer catalog , we are getting this error
Error - oracle.dss.d4o.administration.D4OConnectionException-D4O-1103 Error.
Can someone pls help us on this issue. we are struck here and not able to proceed further. Even if one doesnt have any solution for this problem, pls be free to give ur insight to this issue...it would be very useful..

Also, do you have the error logs from the sample script installs? Besides the scott/tiger issue I've seen the following:
1) The user your executing the queries with needs the 'D4OPUB' role
2) The timezone on the machine should be set to Pacific Time ( US and Canada); Tijuana during the install and then set back to where ever you are afterwards. Also make sure you have the option to adjust for daylight savings checked. (I know this is a very odd one but it seems to work for people)

I have deployed an application to a weblogic server and one of my pages contains a DVT graph. The application works fine until I attempt to navigate to this page, and incur the following error:

I have reviewed the following article which contains the exact issue:

however, do not know if what I have done is correct.
I right click on the view controller > Deployments > Edit > Web Inf / Lib and have ensured that ADF Faces Runtime 11 and ADF DVT Faces Runtime are ticked (these weren't initially). ADF DVT Faces Databinding Runtime was already ticked by default.
I have also attempted this through the EAR via Application > Application Properties, but when I include these in the EAR I receive a deployment error.
Any help with directions or more specific instructions would be much appreciated.

THe deployment in this instance completes sucessfully, and takes a little longer to deploy, so I do know that something is happenning. However, I still experience the same issue. Is there something that I need to do on the remote server?

Can I also add, that when I check the WAR file in my deployments folder, I can see the appropriate java classes.
They are not however included in the EAR.
Do they need to be in the EAR as well?
Again, to reiterate, when I try doing this, the deployment fails.

I hit the same error during configuring it at WebSphere v6.1 ND. Where you updated the classpath? Is it under Application servers > {server name} > Process Definition > Java Virtual Machine > Classpath ?

Unable Logging in to Oracle Application Express Administration Services

I am new for DB. Installed Oracle XE, followed the instruction "Logging in to Oracle Application Express Administration Services", I can not find the login page:
http://127.0.0.1:7777/pls/apex/apex_admin
I work on the PC in which XE installed.
Where are these two files
ORACLE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\install\portlist.ini
ORACLE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\Apache\Apache\conf\httpd.conf
I did a search, can't find them.
Any help welcome.

The default port for the Apex webserver is 8080, not 7777.
To access the XE Database GUI from the Start menu, select Programs (or All Programs), then Oracle Database 10g Express Edition, and then Go to Database Home Page. (I'm assuming your on Windows)
Or try: http://localhost:8080/apex in your browser.
The files you mention relate to Apache web server. Oracle XE does not include a Apache, it's web server is built into the database. Are you sure you're following the right documentation? See http://www.oracle.com/pls/xe102/homepage

Probably I found a workaround to this problem: runas command. This gives a possibility to start admintool using an other user. You can find runas command syntax here http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/runas.mspx?mfr=true.
In my case, I changed Administration shortcut Target (Start -> Oracle Business Intelligence -> Administration and right click properties) to this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\runas.exe /user:RISTOS-XP\administrator C:\OracleBI\server\Bin\AdminTool.exe
I first tried this (thanks to my old gollege in Oracle Finland) as right click admintool.exe and selecting " Run as" and then "The following user:" and Administrator of my computer. I'm not sure, why I have this starting problem, maybe because I have to use Domain\UserId login. My domain login belongs to the local administrators group, but for some reason in this case it is not enough ..

Oracle Database 11g Administrator or Oracle PL/SQL and Forms Developer?

I am thinking about doing an Oracle certification course- Oracle Database 11g Administrator or Oracle PL/SQL and Forms Developer.
Oracle Database 11g OCP and OCM certification requires 3 mandatory training courses to be completed that costs between $1900 and $3250/each. Oracle PL/SQL certication doesn't require any mandatory training course.
Which one of these would be a good choice? Please advise.

Regardless of which path you want to take, in order to get the OCP certification in either the DBA or PL/SQL developer track, you must first obtain the respective OCA certification for that track. I'm assuming that since you are still undecided in which path to take that you haven't started working on either yet. If you look at the pages for the OCA DBA and OCA PL/SQL Developer certs and what is required for each, you'll see that the first block of tests for either certification (the SQL based exams) has the same options (1Z0-007, 1Z0-047, 1Z0-051) and passing one of those SQL based exams gives credit towards obtaining both OCA certifications. That might be a good place to start.
Doing one of these tests first might give you some extra time to decide which track you want to pursue. But as Justin said, it really depends on what you do (or plan on doing) in your career as to which path might be more beneficial for you.
As for the OCM level stuff, I wouldn't even think about it until you get the OCP. One step at a time... Same with OCP before OCA. That being said, my suggestions are just that, suggestions. You're free to take any exams/courses in any order, but you won't be able to obtain the certs until you have completed the requirements for each.

Information on Oracle Database 10g Administrator

I have recently written OCA PL/SQL Developer exams (1Z0-007 and 1Z0-147) and cleared both the exams successfully.
Now i wan to focus on DBA side, so i am planning to write Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Associate exams.
After going through oraclle univeristy site for exam codes, i found that i need to clear 1Z0-007(ifi opt for it) in level-1.
Since ive already given 1Z0-007 for PL/SQL Developer, so do i need to give the exam once again for Oracle Database 10g Administrator???

(You would not be able to take it twice if you wanted too, as a successfully passed exam may not be retaken).

Discoverer Administrator is a client side tool, you must install it on your machine or even you can install discoverer administrator in your server but you must connect through a connection string which you must enter in your tnsnames

Importing Graph to Image (oracle dss graph Graph)

I am trying to implement a Copy Image of a Graph(oracle.dss .graph.Graph) , My code is working but there is still an issue:
* When copy and pasting the image, I get a black background due to the transparent background of the Graph. I tried to change the color of the background using the following:

I'm almost sure the Graph background has transparent background.
I have 2 available operations that can be done on the graph ( which are the ones that I'm trying to implement )
1) Save Image As. which It will import the graph to a PNG Image, this one is working fine:

Besides the fact that the soft copy is and only is to be used by Oracle University trainers and is a properity of Oracle and that's make the use of it outside oracle illegal if you are not a part of OU, I would say one more thing.If you are really on the level to start with oracle database administration learning which seems to be true from the request you made,you wont be able to clear ANY doubt from the book alone. You need some one to have a talk/discussion to clear them and thats why its called ILT,instructor lead training. There is no use at all of the book if you don't get the doubts clear and I can gurantee that by juse reading the book,soft/hard whatever copy,you wont get anything.So it better to come in OU and do a proper course.If you think price is the issue than you can do the same from a partener too where price would be less as well.

what is simpler?

I am searching for an easy winI'm not a big proponent of 'easy'. I'm much more a fan of 'worthwhile'. Determining what is 'easy' for you is not easy. It's hard enough figuring out what is easy for me. That said, a fast and dirty rule of thumb for comparing Oracle certifications is:
Easiest
OCA -- Broad range of topics -- shallow depth
OIS -- Narrow range of topics -- moderate depth (Implementation Specialist -- dunno if they really have an accepted acronym)
OCP -- Broad range of topics -- moderate depth
OCE -- Narrow range of topics -- considerable depth
OCM -- Whole different ballgame -- perform or fail

Since you are asking about an OCA exam vs an OCE exam, the basic answer is going to be that the OCA exam is easier. That doesn't take into account you. For all I know, you might be mentally allergic to Java and learning it may be the hardest thing you've ever done.

Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop I Lab files

Hi, I was trying to do the practicals for the above workshop, but i cant seem to locate the lab files from the directory/home/oracle/labs.
This is what happened when i try to run the lab file script.

I was told to run the script: $ sqlplus dba1/oracle @lab_06_02_4.sql, but apparently there's no lab files for me to run the script.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

The course you mention appears to me to be second from bottom.
Very occasionally these webpages can unintentionally vary from country to country.
Sorry ... misunderstood, either the (release 1 or release 2 will count). I am not authorative on this but they are not that cruel. The main general issue is 10g classes typically cannot be used for an 11g OCP. Please note I am not authorative on this but I am as sure as I can be about the principle. Check with your local Oracle University if you need to be authoratively sure.
