Error passing in a date object

I'm calling Oracle CRM On Demand by generating a WS proxy of its WSDL file. There's a field of date datatype in CRMOD and in the java class, it accepts a Calendar object. Below is my code
Here's my code
1) I have a Date object
2) I found a piece of code on the internet to get the WS 2.0 ISO8601 DateTime format. This method will format my Date object and return a String as below
String dateString = "2011-09-08T00:00:00-0700-07:00";
3)
SimpleDateFormat dfISO8601 = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ssZ");
Date dt= dfISO8601.parse(dateString);
4)
Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
cal.setTime(dt);
5) customObject.setDStartDate(cal);
but it kept saying
"The value '11-09-08-07:00' cannot be converted to a date time value.(SBL-DAT-00359)"
It looks like Calendar reverts back to the default date formatting which does not conform to XSD format.
Do you have any idea?
Thanks

First, you've to make up your mind in fixing what the question is otherwise every time it will end up "actually I have this rather than that... and need this rather than that...".
Actually I have a Date object and instead of parsing it, how can I call a Web Service method that accepts a Calendar type?So you have a Date object. The service accepts a Calendar type? What kind of service would that be?
For Web services v2.0, the data in SOAP requests conforms to XSD data formats.So that is a string of xs:date (date, not data?). Why would that be a Calendar type?
If you start with a Date object and want to pass a string of xs:date format, you do this, as I'd practically suggested all the ingredients already.
//dt being your date object
Calendar cal=Calendar.getInstance();
cal.setTime(dt);
String s=javax.xml.bind.DatatypeConverter.printDate(cal);
//you pass s to the soap message.

    You'll find more information here:

    I don't know why the sudden error comes up. Did anything change in your configuration between when it was working and now?
    As for a workaround, please see the PDK-March (now available) for a more up to date version of the Exchange portlets. This version should get around this error.

  • How to export & import interface type data object to memory

    Hi experts,
    My greetings to all.
    we have came across a situation where we need to pass interface type data object to memory
    and import same from memory.
    DATA context TYPE REF TO if_timecontext.
    its not possible with regular export statement.
    is their any other way to do it?
    Thanks in advanced,
    Sudhir

    Thank you saurabhmani & sandra.
    @ saurabhmani : i tried assigning object context to memory (field-symbol) and exporting it to memory, but got runtime error.
    @sandra : XML serialization & shared object concept sounds intresting but as you already checked that interface IF_TIMECONTEXT is missing the required IF_SERIALIZABLE_OBJECT interface.
    Istead of exporting context data object to memory we tried different approch and it worked out for our requirement

  • Syntax error while doing Convert data in LSMW

    Hi experts,
          I am using direct input method for uploading customer master records. After display read data step, when i click Convert data button, i get a runtime error saying that:
          the data object "LEGACY_CUSTOMER_MASTER" has no component called "OLD_CUST_NO", but there is a component called "SAP_CUST_NO".
        But actually we do not need OLD_CUST_NO field, so i did not include it while maintaining source fields. Someone plz help. I urgently need to resolve this.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
    I think you have declared the filed old_cust_no in the maintain field mapping step may be in global declaration or in the mapping section of hte field. Without the use of filed OLD_CUST_NO you wont get the syntax error. Check the sysntax error in field mapping step and delete the unwanted field.Check the filed mapping section carefully based on the error.
    Thanks.

  • After installing BAM there are no existing ADC Data Object

    I am trying to install the Oracle Bam 10.1.3.1 and each time I am doing the install all services are up and runing, but when i am trying to define a report i get an error Data Object was deleted.
    I saw the error and load the CustomParameters to the table via th ICommand exe, but :
    1. it seems that the ADC install was failed (part of it). How can I fix it
    2. Where can i find the xml files of the data objects so i will be able to load it manually?
    With Best Regards and Thank inadvanced
    Erez

    Hi;
    I had the same issue. Prior of uninstalling BAM10.1.3.1, i had only export orabam and orasagent schema. Then I install BAM10.1.3.3 into the development server where it has the same hostname and IP.
    I then import back the original orabam and orasagent schema.
    When i open BAM Studio, it lists all my original data objects. However when i click into any one of those, an error appear saying the data object does not exist. How can i overcome this issue?
    thanks

  • Error while activating Data object in DOE workbench

    Hi all,
    I created a Data Object and when I try to activate  that DO it is showing an error as below.
    Mobile Java client attributes not maintained.
    Please give some clue to resolve this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rajesh.A

    Hi Rajesh,
    I believe you had created an SWCV that is enabled for Backward Compatibility 'Uses NW04/NW04s MI application' and created a Data Object in this SWCV. Ideally, when the SWCV is enabled for Backward Compatibility, the Data Objects should be created by importing the text file as Data Objects from a MI 7.0 server. Since you have not done that way, you are getting this error.
    I would suggest that you create a new SWCV and do not check the option 'Uses NW04/NW04s MI application'. Now create the Data Object again and try to activate it and you should be able to activate it.
    Best regards,
    Vinodh

  • Creating remote objects and passing the retrieved data to modules

    I found at this Adobe tutorial a nice "RemoteService" class that  creates a RemoteObject and contains the functions for handling the  result and fault events. If I wanted to use this approach, how could I  pass the data from the result handler to interfaces that modules from  the main application could use?
    I could put the RemoteService/RemoteObject in the modules, but (in my  opinion- and I could be wrong) the best design seems to be using the  remote calls in the main app and passing the data along to the modules.
    Ultimately, I would like to know what the "best practices" are for creating remote objects and passing the retrieved data to modules
    Thanks!

    public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) {
      X x = new X(e.getX(), e.getY());
    }I don't see the difficulty.

  • Error message is 'TYPE' is not a component of data object 'PAYLOAD'.

    Hello,
    I have sceanrio  where file->Synchronus bapi ->File.
    For this I have defined a  bpm.
    Text file inut will be read and converted using sender FCC.
    Bpm will call a synchronus bapi from r/3 and collect response. I need to create a success or error response file from the status of bapi response. I have used switch step to do that.
    But here when I give condtion as this XPath SOResonse./p1:Z_BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROM3.Response/RETURN1/TYPE = S, SXI_CACHE gives status of bpm as 99 and error message is 'TYPE' is not a component of data object 'PAYLOAD'.
    At the same time if i just put a condition of simple type container variable (SuccessCounter = 0), it  gives status 0 in SXI_CACHE.
    Pl can anyone suggest on this as its urgent.
    thanks in advance,
    Sharada

    Thanks for quick response.

  • Error while generating Data Objects in sdoe_wb SAP for Basis component

    Dear all,
    While generating SAP BASIS Components getting error
    After installations of SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1 SP11 and all the Notes applied for SP11 i have done the Generation for all the SAP BASIS Data Objects
    All the Data objects are generated except AGENT_CONFIG, ARCHIVE
    When i check the same in smq2 it shows the error in Function module SDOE_GENERATE_MBO for the user FUNC001,in status text it shows "connection closed (no data)"
    kindly help on this issue.
    Regards
    Revanth

    Hi,
    well, I guess if you mean you did reset the queue - you deleted all emtries with error. Try to avoid this in the future - you will get unwanted side effects by that. There are only a few errors that make this behaviour necessary.
    Usually you should select the entry on the first screen - so you see the status of the queue on the second one. On there you can select the queue and while pressing the green tick, you can restart it. If it is a timeout - this restart usually helps.
    Wondering why you have an issue with basis objects - did you run through the complete setup guide up to this point?
    Regard,
    Oliver

  • In 6.0 get error "END_OF_RECORD" must be a character-type data object .....

    Hi All,
    following piece of code was working fine in 4.6 C   but in ECC 6.0 I get the following error:
    "   "END_OF_RECORD" must be a character-type data object (data type C, N,D, T or STRING) .  "
    I tried type-casting with field symbols but still not able to remove the error.  Cannot convert end_of_record directly to type C as it may hamper the functionality. Plz advice how to remove the error without converting type x to type C
    In the following code :
    DATA:  DELIMITER   TYPE C VALUE   CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB,
            end_of_record             TYPE x.

    Type X is not allowed in Unicode. When a field is declared as Type X with Value u201809u2019 or any other value, it can be resolved by using classes.
    Before Unicode
                      CONSTANTS: c_hex TYPE x VALUE '09'.
    Resolution:
    Itu2019s work for any value of x.
    First a temporary field of Type c should declare. Following class will convert Type x variable into type c.
    Example:
    CONSTANTS: c_hex TYPE x VALUE '09'.
    DATA: LV_TEMP TYPE STRING.
    DATA: LV_TMP TYPE C.
    TRY.
    CALL METHOD CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE=>UCCP

    SEPARATED BY LV_TMP.
    I_BUFFER = LV_TEMP.
    CLEAR LV_TEMP.
    CLEAR LV_TMP.

  • Outbound IDOC( Error passing data to port)

    Hi,
    We have an interface running daily configured such that the idocs are converted to files and placed on a directory path.
    All the idocs are processed successfully but for one hour the idocs failed and the error message says:
    Status: Error passing data to port
    Error at OPEN (Directory path) with operating system error msg.:No such file or directory.
    The missed data from the error idocs have been sent via PFAL.
    But again after this one hour the idocs were successfully posted for the same directory path.
    Please let me know what the issue can be here or how can we avoid this.
    Thanks.

    Hi
    *Some times it may happen that IDOC doesnt reach to the port , in case if you are using Transactional RFC port so*
    *you can use the report RSEOUT00  for sending the IDOC to port .*
    *Hope it may help you .*

  • How to Include Warnings/Error messages in Return Service Data Object

    Hello All,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.3.0, ADF BC. and want to publish Service-Enabled application modules, specifically I want to publish a custome method in the application module as a web service.
    While going through Enable support for Service Interface wizard as explained in developer guide, in step 7 I read this
    >
    7. To expose service information messages such as warnings and exceptions for a custom method or warnings for process operation methods, select Include Warnings in Return Service Data Object. For example, you might want display an informational message when a method returns the total employee compensation and the total is outside of the desired range.
    If Include Warnings is not selected, no informational messages will be returned with the service response. This option is only enabled when the method does not return a view row or a list
    of view rows. When the method returns view rows, the underlying view object determines whether the method supports warnings, as described Section 11.2.4, "How to Service-Enable Individual View Objects." The informational messages (and warnings) are reported as part of the return object. JDeveloper generates appropriate wrappers as the return objects, and the wrappers contain the actual method return and the informational messages.
    >
    I am interested in this part: For example, you might want display an informational message when a method returns the total employee compensation and the total is outside of the desired range.
    To do this, I write a method in the application module
    public Number getEmpSal(Number empId){
            EmployeesViewImpl employeesView1 = this.getEmployeesView1();
            //this is the bind variable setter
            employeesView1.setEmpId(empId);
            employeesView1.executeQuery();
            EmployeesViewRowImpl first = (EmployeesViewRowImpl)employeesView1.first();
           return first!=null ? first.getSalary() : null;
    }and I selected the Include Warnings in Return Service Data Object check box. but how and where can I expose the error or warning message?
    Note:
    I tried to throw an exception in the method
    public Number getEmpSal(Number empId){
            EmployeesViewImpl employeesView1 = this.getEmployeesView1();
            //this is the bind variable setter
            employeesView1.setEmpId(empId);
            employeesView1.executeQuery();
            EmployeesViewRowImpl first = (EmployeesViewRowImpl)employeesView1.first();
            if(first!=null && (first.getSalary()!=null || first.getSalary().compareTo(1000)==1))
                throw new JboException("out of range salary");
             return first!=null ? first.getSalary() : null;
    }and when I test the web service for some employee I get this response:
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <env:Header/>
         <env:Body>
              <env:Fault>
                   <faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
                   <faultstring>out of range salary</faultstring>
                   <detail><tns:ServiceErrorMessage xmlns:tns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/svc/errors/" xmlns:xsi=      "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"><tns:code/><tns:message>out of range  salary</tns:message><tns:severity>SEVERITY_ERROR</tns:severity><tns:exceptionClassName>oracle.jbo.JboException</tns:exceptionClassName></tns:ServiceErrorMessage>
                   </detail>
              </env:Fault>
         </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>but is this the right approach or there is another place to show error/warning messages?

    This is fine if you raise exception from your code. It will be raised as a server fault only.
