Error performing inpage operation

We were getting the following error using our Leopard server as a PDC when the windows users would try to log in: "Error performing inpage operation".
We tried the following advice from http://macosx.com/forums/1432514-post6.html :
/etc/smb.conf:
vfs objects = darwinacl, darwin_streams
; The darwin_streams module gives us named streams support.
stream support = yes
ea support = yes
replace with (i.e. remove darwin_streams)
vfs objects = darwinacl
; The darwin_streams module gives us named streams support.
stream support = no
ea support = no
This seems to have fixed our problem. He gives further explanation as to what the problem might be in his post.

hey Guru933,
I would recommend that you use the TVSysUpdate. Anyway, are you still having that error ?
If you are, try uninstalling the Power Manager and reinstall it. And what is the version of TVSysUpdate that you have on your system and your Edge is it the Edge 13 or ?

  • LMS 4, snmpv3 - Error performing SNMP operation

    Hi
I have a cat 3750 switch with the folowing snmp v3 config:
    snmp-server group admin v3 priv
    snmp-server user lmsadmin admin v3 auth md5 password1 priv aes 256 password2
The credentials on the device in LMS are as folowing, where Auth. password = password1 and private password = password2:
When I run a credentials verification job, I get the following error message:
    Error performing SNMP operation.
I have tried this on LMS version 4.0 and 4.1 with the same result. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

    Thank you.
After adding the folowing config it worked:
snmp-server group admin v3 priv write wr
snmp-server view wr iso included  <-- didn't work without this line

  • SNMP V3 : Bad Credential Check "Error performing SNMP operation"

    Dears,
I've tried to configure SNMP V3 on some devices using LMS 4 as required by a customer and all appears fine.
Except that I could not use the template in netconfig as my customer desired to use AES rather then DES and there is no dropdown box for the priv encryption algorithm.
After a week the customer tells me all his snmp v3 devices are now failing in the credentail check report.
The message is "Error performing SNMP operation"
I've tested this in my lab using LMS 4 and I can confirm that there is no problem speaking snmp v3 to the devices.

But still LMS claims that there is an issue.
Anyone else having this? Did anyone find a sollution?

I just noticed a thread where Joe says this is expected behavior.
I would be nice if the report could produce a sensible message such as "Failed", "RO OK" or "RO & RW OK"
Shouldn't be that hard to fix this

  • LMS3.2 snmpv3 Error performing SNMP operation

    Hi,
i've the following problem. Check device credential verification job shows "Error performing SNMP operation" for a cisco 3750 configured with snmpv3.On the switch i can see that the lms can access the switch via snmpv3. Also cisco view works fine. Bug CSCsm89609 describe the problem but it should be fixed in RME 4.3. We are running 4.3.1.
    Any ideas?
    André

    Hello,
I have a similar problem. I have configured a snmp v3 user using SHA to authentication an DES for private access.
We use RME 5.0.1 and when we try to run a CDA it doesn`t work reporting "Error performing SNMP operation".
In the log of the CDA job, we can see:
    [ lun nov 26  16:46:06 CET 2012 ],INFO ,[Thread-6],com.cisco.nm.rmeng.inventory.cda.job.DoCDAonDevice,updateCdaStatus,1784,Executing sqlStmt update DM_Credential_Error_Status set Cred_Status= 8 ,Cred_Status_Descr='Error performing SNMP operation.',Update_At='1353944766699' where NetworkElementID = 3685 and Cred_Type = 3
How can I use snmp v3 with RME 5.0.1?
    Thanks.

  • Why do I get inpage operation error loading EngSetupResDll using GPIB V2.1

I'm trying to upgrade our customized GPIB driver specifications for instrument control. We are currently using V1.7 and have several devices defined with unique addresses and settings. We ship the registry settings for the instruments as part of our software distribution so I am trying to do a clean install of the V2.1 drivers to export the registry settings after I configure the driver.
When I try to start the installation of the V2.1 drivers on a clean notebook or desktop machine it won't launch the setup program from the main menu form. I get a message - 'error performing inpage operation while attempting to load EngSetupResDLL.DLL' and the setup program doesn't start. Why does this occur
We utilize the PCI-GPIB cards on desktop computers and PCMCIA-GPIB cards on the notebook computers. The machines where this occur do not have any cards installed at the time of the error. Are they needed to install the driver?
Thanks for any answers you can provide!
    - Bob Boyd

    Bob Boyd,
You do not need the hardware in place at the time of driver installation. Are you installing this NI-488.2 from a CD did you download a copy from our website?
I would try to download a fresh copy of the driver (perhaps even version 2.2) from our website and try it again.
It may be a problem with the microsoft installer program that windows installers have to use. You can update your version of the microsoft installer by visiting there website and searching for the latest version (2.0 I believe). Let us know if this helps!

  • An error occurred while attempting to perform the operation.

    Hi All,
I am getting an error while running the report:
"An error occurred while attempting to perform the operation. Then operation did not complete successfully."
Although I can see the data coming is correct, but don't know why this error is coming.
I have seen for NULL values.
How can I see the detail log to trace the error?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Himanshu Tiwari

    Hi,
You can login as system using SQLPlus and use the DBMS_SYSTEM.set_sql_trace_in_session procedure to set trace on another Discoverer session. This should establish if there is any database error occuring in the Discoverer session.

Hi, I have a hard disk failure so to recover my data I am using disk utility to restore the data on an external drive while booting from a second external hard drive. When I perform the operation and after having selected both my destination and source drives, the operation begins but soon fails due to input/output error. If I try to create an image of the drive it gives me the same error message. Any help would be much appreciated.

Disk Utility only creates a image of the drive, so it's no help getting exactly what you want, which is your files. If the file structure is messed up or the drive is failing then it's no help.
If you have a external boot drive and you can't access the internal non-booting drive though the typical Finder and windows to transfer your files via drag and drop methods, then you need to install Data Rescue on the external boot drive and it will do as best as it can to recover your files. (works on non-encrypted/non-Filevaulted drives only)
.Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
Are you sure you have hard drive failure, or that OS X isn't merely not booting?
Because if the drive is working physically, then there is a host of fixes

Please ask your client to clear Contribute preference once and try the same scenario.
Here are the steps how to clear the Contribute Preferences:
    For Mac, Contribute CS5
    1) Quit Contribute.
    2) (a) Go to "user/Library/Preferences" and delete the file "Adobe Contribute 6 Preferences".
    (b) Go to "user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/" remove "Contribute CS5".
    For Mac, Contribute CS4
    1) Quit Contribute.
    2) (a) Go to "user/Library/Preferences" and delete the file "Adobe Contribute 5 Preferences".
    (b) Go to "user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/" remove "Contribute CS4".
If you use CS3, then delete "Adobe Contribute 4.1 Preferences" and "Contribute CS3" folder.
    For Win, Contribute CS5
    1) Quit Contribute.
    2) From Command prompt run the below two commands to remove the preferences
    a) reg delete "HKCU\Software\Adobe\Contribute 6" /f
    b) RD /S /Q "%Userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Contribute CS5"
    For Win, Contribute CS4
    1) Quit Contribute.

  • Error in Powerpoint 2011: "You don't have the permissions necessary to perform the operation"

We have a user with a new iMac running 10.7.2 that is having some strange problems with Powerpoint 2012 and who knows how many other programs. The issue is whenever these programs try to write to the user's personal network folder, which we keep on a DFS share. The error message only pops up when the user tries to save over something that already has that file name on the share. So she is always able to make file.pptx, but any subsequent "save" commands result in this error message: "You don't have the permissions necessary to perform the operation." Then, all she can do is save the file as newfile.pptx.
This doesn't happen in Word or any other files in the office suite. I've tried this both when connecting to the DFS share, and when using SMB to connect directly to the folder on the server, with no change in results. I've not tried removing/reinstalling the Office suite, because it's only powerpoint. I believe it must be something to do with her account's permissions in Active Directory, but when she uses this domain account on a Windows computer, there are no problems at all, of course.
There's a mere 3 google hits on that bolded error message, leaving me with very little to go on. Has anyone run into this before?

    Hey,
I have Mac users using Office 2011 saving to CIFS shares having the exact same problem.
Like heiseheisepointed pointed out only Power Point seems to be affected. Word, Excel etc seem to work fine.
I have checked and reapplied the permissions to the share and it is not that, I believe it is something faulty in PowerPoint itself.
I also tried saving the files as ppt rather than pptx but you still get a permissions based error message.
Just wondering is eitherJeff or hbonath have any sucess in getting a fix for this?
    Cheers
    Genits

  • Error: the database could not be exclusively locked to perform the operation in sql server 2008 ?

I am trying to rename the database but i am getting below exception while doing it-->
Error: the database could not be exclusively locked to perform the operation.(Microsoft Sql Server,Error 5030)
    Thanks.

as mentioned earlier by both these users just wait for all the connections to go and then try- it will succed
or else if it is dev\Uat environment & you can kill the conenctions - make the changes (use this as last option)
i was just wondering if you are connected to the same DB? If yes change your context to master(means connect to master DB ) and then issue this command.
