Error performing Recovery

I bought a S55T-A5334 with 1 Tb of HD. In other systems I partition the HD to save all my documents in this new partition so if I need to format drive C I don't have to reinstall all documents again (about 300Gb). I used Easus partition software to do that with no problem.
Now I want to format the C: using the recovery software by I get an error saying "No HDD Recovery Area".
I also tried pressing the ZERO key during the boot but also nothing happened. I cannot find my recovery disks.
Is there anything elso I could do before sending the computer back for service?
Thanks

  • Trying to perform recovery RMAN in OEM.  Fails!!!

    I am trying to learn to do backups within OEM. I see it uses RMAN behind the scenes.
    Anyway, I have 2 databases residing on one machine. A production database "a" and a clone it "b". I performed the cloning in OEM fine.
    I then performed a full database backup on "b" using OEM which included the control files. This seemed to go well. I had them created on a mapped drive."s:\"
    Now I am trying to use the perform recovery tools in OEM and I can't get anywhere. I am not familiar with RMAN, but I thought that was the purpose of the OEM to provide out of the box solution. The RMAN script generated behind the scenes looks like:
    set dbid 1508042233;
    set controlfile autobackup format for device type disk to '%F';
    run {
    allocate channel oem_restore type disk;
    restore controlfile from autobackup;
    shutdown immediate;
    startup mount;
    I changed the 2nd line to match my drive mapping 's:\%F';
    My error message is as follows and yes it was wrapped this way!

    Do one thng. Keep the target db in nomount mode and then run recovery using OEM.

  • How to Perform Recovery in Database Control on tablespace?

    Hi,
    I am runnig 10gR2 on Windows XP SP 2.
    I have taken backup of my nonsystem tablespace by using Database Control.
    Now to test it I dropped tablespace.
    Logged in as sys on Database Control:
    Maintenance->Perform Recovery->
    Object Level Recovery
    Here in Object Type I choosed Tablespace from the dropdown
    But what do I choose in Operation Type? There are three choises:
    - Recover to current time or a previous point-in-time
    - Restore tablespaces
    - Recover from previously restored tablespaces
    And as I said, I have taken backup of my whole tablespace...
    Thanks

    Hi Werner,
    thanks again, but I still would like to perform backup of my tablespace.
    Now I understood, that to drop a tablespace was an error. OK.
    Next try:
    Step 1:
    CREATE TABLESPACE TEST_TS DATAFILE
    'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ORCL\TEST_01.DBF' SIZE 1M AUTOEXTEND ON,
    'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ORCL\TEST_02.DBF' SIZE 1M AUTOEXTEND ON;
    Step 2:
    CREATE TABLE TEST_TBL (
    NAME VARCHAR2(10))
    TABLESPACE TEST_TS;
    Step 3:
    INSERT INTO TEST_TBL VALUES('DB2');
    Step 4:
    COMMIT;
    Step 5:
    I have done backup of newly created tablespace TEST_TS via Database Control.
    Step 6:
    shutdown database;
    Step 7:
    I have manually renamed datafile TEST_01.DBF to TEST_01_.DBF
    Step 8:
    Now I have started database and have following entries in alert.log:
    Errors in file c:\oracle\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\admin\orcl\bdump\orcl_dbw0_4124.trc:
    ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 6 - see DBWR trace file
    ORA-01110: data file 6: 'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ORCL\TEST_01.DBF'
    ORA-27041: unable to open file
    OSD-04002: unable to open file
    O/S-Error: (OS 2) The system cannot find the file specified.
    ORA-1157 signalled during: alter database open...
    Which is correct. Oracle can not find the datafile I have renamed.
    Step 9:
    Now I thought I could be able to access Backup/Recovery Page in Database Control,
    but all I can reach is 'Recovery Settings'
    Do I need to go in open stage first to perfor recovery?
    What needs to be done in Step 9? Do I have to drop my
    ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE 'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ORCL\TEST_01.DBF' OFFLINE DROP;
    alter database open;
    Go to Database Control and try it out?
    Thanks

  • Can not open database. Also can not perform recovery

    Hi Experts,
    I scheduled a daily incremental backup of whole database and after doing a back up tried to restore whole back up. This was done in dev. system to perform documentation. But when I tried to recovery from back up ..i got errors. I tried to restart oracle services and even restarted server ..no joy.
    In the EM i am getting the below error -
    "The database status is currently unavilable. It is possible that the database is mount or nomount state. Click 'Startup' to obtain the current status and open the database. If database can not be opended, 'Perform Recovery' to perform appropriate recovery operation."
    Then tried to startup database - got the below status message. Could not start up
    Current Status : Mounted
    Operation : Open the database
    Then tried to perform recovery - I got the below error - (I could only do datafile recovery)
    Restore error
    ORA-16038: log 2 sequence#29178 can notbe archived
    ORA-19809: Limit exceeded for recovery files
    ORA-00312: online log 2 thread 1: 'C;\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.1.0\ORADATE\ZUMA\RED0O2.LOG
    Can anyone help to open my database ???

  • It says i have bars, but i can't call, top up or text, all it keeps saying is error performing request, unkown request. what is wrong and what do i do

    like it says in the title, I have a 3GS and i'm with O2, it is saying I have service/bars most of the time full bars, but when I go to text, call or even top up, it comes up with error performing request, unknown error. I can't receive calls or texts either, I can't use the phone side of my phone everything else like iPod, Internet etc is working fine, but nothing is working for my phone.
    I've checked my sim card, I've made sure it is in properly, I've turned it off and on. nothing is working
    what is wrong with my iPhone why is it not working, and how do I fix it.
    Please someone give me some answers.
    P.S. I have only had this phone for just over a year.

    It sounds like an O2 problem, you'd have to get in contact with them on 0800 977 7337
    Have you tried the SIM card in another phone?

  • Error in recovery media creation

    I bought  a new HP laptop recently.Its a HP PAVILION G6 2320TX.I ran the Recovery Media  Creation .After the initial setup and burning of files onto my first dvd,when it comes to verify, i am getting an error that states "We are experiencing errors in recovery media creation. Please try again.” ,and the disk ejects out.
    I use SONY DVD-R media so,i guess there shouldn't be any problem with the brand.I tried doing this a couple of time and each time i got the same error.
    Has anyone else experienced this? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Akash.

    Hello Akash_Sanu,
    I see that you are having problems with the recovery discs creation on your computer.
    I would suggest trying a different brand of disc, here is a link that explains the recovery discs process. If you continue to have problems with the disc creation I would suggest contacting HP support for a set of recovery discs.
    Here is a link to the contact options for HP support.

  • Host Credentials to perform recovery

    Hi,
    I prepare for the oca exam, trying to perform recovery in enterprise manager at windows7 os.
    the DB in mount mode.
    in OEM, I click on "perform Recovery" from the home page.
    it ask for host credentials. I get "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges".
    when the DB is open for other alternatives, I don't have this problem.
    I tried to save preferred credentials, which still did not work.
    what is the problem, why I can not login in mount mode?
    thanks.

  • Error Handling/Recovery Mechanism in ODI

    can u ps provide sum infor related to Error handling/recovery mechanism in ODI?
    say for instance a link breaks down while moving data from source to staging or/and staging to target..what will happen?? is it like that the processed records will be dumped into the target table, or no record will be moved into the target table?
    Is it like "ZERO or ALL" kindaa stuff that ODI works on?
    I really need help on this?

    There is an option - Restart in the Operator. When you right click and click on restart .ODI will start from the steps failed.
    I beleive if the database is down then restart can help you but if the agent is down , then you might need to start the session completely ,reason being when agent send the SQL process to database it wait till the Database process and send the record back to it.During that interval if the agent goes down the database would have processed the records but agent wouldn't be ready to read those record and by the time you bring the agent up ,the session would have died and so you would need to start the session again.
    You can test and see if the Restart option helps you .

    You can call HP and order a recovery disc set for a nominal fee.
    Yes you can use the COA product key to install W7 from a regular installation disc, but then you need to download and install all sorts of drivers from HP.

  • HT4848 Error creating recovery disk in Disk Assist

    I've carefully followed all instruction in this post: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4848, but I am having an error when creating the recovery disk.
    The recovery Disk Assist starts creating it, but stops early on. The message I get is titled "Conclusion," and it says "The recovery drive wasn't created. There was an error creating recovery disk."
    Can anyone help me with this? I followed all the steps in the post above and I also created the partition on the external drive.
    I really need to wipe out my computer and make it appear "as new" because I am selling it. Any help would be great!
    Thanks!

    Same happened to me.  This makes absolutely no sense, but I just kept trying and trying then it finally worked.  For me, it hasn't been worth the bother.  These restore DVDs don't work like the ones I made for an Acer laptop, for example.  On my Acer, I repartitioned, reformatted my drive and was easily able to restore my computer before I sold it.  I've been going nuts trying to restore my computer after a clean install of Windows 7.  Still can't get it to work.

  • DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND error after recovery on a CDS database

    I am getting a DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND error after recovery, with a database that is configured in CDS mode. The error occurs after I insert several rows, bring down the process, remove the environment files and start the process which attempts to insert additional rows - gets a DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND error. The error persists ie. terminating and starting a new oprocess does not resolve the problem.
    Amy help will be appreciated.

    Assuming, that the db is corrupted and that CDS db's can get corrupted - is there any way, I can reduce the frequency of these errors by increasing Cache, page size etc.?
    Following is my DB configuration:
                   dbEnv_->open(envHome_.c_str(), envFlags_, 0);
                    dbEnv_->set_errpfx(envHome_.c_str());
                    dbEnv_->set_thread_count(16);
                    dbEnv_->set_cachesize(0,(100*1024*1024),2);
                    envFlags_ =   DB_INIT_CDB | DB_THREAD | DB_INIT_MPOOL ;
                    envFlags_ |=  DB_CREATE ;
                    dbEnv_->open(envHome_.c_str(), envFlags_, 0);
    db->set_pagesize((32*1024));
                db->open(NULL, temp.c_str(), tableName.c_str(),\
                    DB_BTREE, DB_CREATE | DB_THREAD , S_IRUSR | S_IWUSR);
                    dbEnv_->open(envHome_.c_str(), envFlags_, 0);
    The platform is HPUX. The problems occurs periodically - i.e. not every time.
    Thanks for your help.
