Error printing bills to Adobe PDF from Timeslips 10

I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional. When I try to print a bill from Timeslips 10 to the Adobe printer driver, I receive the following error message:

It appears to be a problem in Distiller, but I have no idea how to fix it. I have checked, and all of the fonts I use in the invoice are installed on the computer.
What can I do to a) locate and then b) fix the corrupted font file?

You have 2 choices. However, first you need to check the font file (typically located in Windows>Fonts or Control Panel>Fonts) and be sure that embedding is permitted. The font may be restricted, not necessarily corrupt.
The 2 solutions are:
1. Get a copy of the font that does permit embedding.
2. Go to the settings file and disable the embedding of this font that is causing problems. Hopefully, your system can still handle the display of the font.

I go to print document select adobe pdf as printer and it comes up with the save window I create a file name and that file is then nowhere to be found at all. Did you pay attention to the path of the save window? Is it possible there is a log file instead, that likely gives information on why the PDF is not created?
Try printing to file in WORD (please pay attention to the folder when you do this). The file created is a PS file, probably with a PRN extension. Then start Distiller and open the file in Distiller. Do you get errors or is the PDF created? If a PDF is created, then it is likely that you have not enabled AcroTray that should be running in the background. What version of Acrobat are you using? There may be an issue with the version.

When printing to Adobe PDF from Microsoft Publisher, the text on page 2 is not 100% black

I'm using Microsoft Publisher 2013 to print to an Adobe PDF file (I have a trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.)
I sent the PDF to my printing house but they can't print it because the text on page 2 is not 100% black. In Publisher, the text colour on both pages is CMYK 0/0/0/100.
I created a test file in which I copied the text from page 1 onto page 2 so both pages are identical. However, the PDF created from that file, when I click Print Production, Output Preview and de-select Process Black, all the text on page 1 disappears (as expected) but none of the text on page 2 disappears! It seems that Publisher and/or Acrobat is printing the text on page 1 correctly but not page 2. Does anyone know why? Am I doing something wrong?

Do not use the PDF Maker, but print to the Adobe PDF printer and see if that meets you need. If you need some of the tools of PDF Maker, then turn on only those you need, not them all. Check to be sure that the graphics are indeed being downsampled and possibly go back and reduce the graphics you have in the WORD file so that you are at least not using millions of colors, 256 max. Also consider using straight B&W if color is not needed, or at least gray-scale.

Log in required dialog box when we Save as Adobe pdf from MS Word 2010. And error from PDFMaker

We have started to get this error when we "Save AS Pdf" from for instance Microsoft Office Word and Excel 2010. Adobe Acrobat is Customized with the Customization tool to provide licence and activation and distributed with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012. The deployment has been working fine until recently when I started getting questions about this from our users. It sounds like you have a bunch of 64-bit machines and did not do the update (11.0.0). The updates are needed for both 64-bit systems and for Office 2010 as I recall. I know that Office 2013 definitely requires the update. Glad it worked for you, but now you have to figure out how to update all the machines.

Acrobat won't print to installed printer, only to adobe pdf file

This is a sudden problem, started about a week ago. When I open or download a pdf file - any file - and try to print, the print box reads "adobe pdf." No matter which installed printer I try to print to, the entry flashes back to adobe pdf. This happens in Acrobat 7. I downloaded the newest version of Reader, and it does the same thing. No, the print to file box is not checked. These files can be opened and printed from any other computer in the office, so it's not the files. Using Windows 7 and the printer is HPx476dn. Help?

Do you want to set a different printer as default printer?
If yes, then please follow the steps in this KB doc. Change the system default printer

PDFMaker unexpected error unable to produce Adobe PDF

When trying to create an Adobe PDF file with PDF maker using Acrobat XI Pro, I get the following message error message – “An unexpected error occurred. PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF." No reason given, so what is my next step? The original file is a MS Office pptx file.

Try to create a PDF by printing to the Adobe PDF printer. If you want the proper size, you may need to set the page size in the printer properties. However, my main reason for suggesting this step is as a check on the conversion process. It can be an alternative when PDF Maker is not working.

Very slow printing to default Adobe PDF printer

I have a 150 page FrameMaker document (with lots of linked Illustrator CS4 files) that is taking 7 MINUTES to print to the default Adobe PDF printer. In contrast, an old QuickSilver / Interleaf document that is 200 pages long and contains even more graphics embedded as huge TIF files, takes 20 seconds to print to the same default Adobe PDF printer.
I have tried all the suggestions I can find on the web, including Adobe forums, but nothing works. Can anyone suggest why printing from FrameMaker 9 to Adobe PDF is taking such a long time? It would appear to be a FrameMaker problem, since every other application can print to the Adobe PDF printer without any problems, and so can FrameMaker... but only at a snail's pace!

Using Acrobat 8.1 Professional. (Haven't upgraded because I saw too many posts with people having problems.)
Using Adobe Design Premium CS3 (I use AI files, we always have for any vector files and way to many to change over to EPS.)
We have also been changing over from Interleaf. I really like FM except for this problem. Very glad to get out of Interleaf.
We also used InDesign for a while and there are no problems printing to pdf.

Printing Problem to Adobe PDF printer

When I print to my Adobe PDF printer I comes out unreadable, but if I copy the unreadable text and paste into word I can read it.
Unreadable text in Acrobat is in Courier, and readable in Acrobat is in Vernada (that's what is shows in word). Does anyone have any ideas?

I talked with Adobe and they showed me an option for fonts (listed below). Uncheck the hightlighted option.
And now it prints correctly.

Be sure Safari does not have the Block Pop-Up Windows preference set.
Where I work now there are several unencrypted VLANs that require authentication, and Safari promptly pops up a window for me to register every time.

Avoiding the 'Save PDF File As' dialog when printing to the adobe PDF printer from a service

Hello, can someone please help.
I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro installed.
I have an in house application which (among many other things) effectively monitors a directory and prints the file to the default printer. It works fine when run as an application.
I have set the defaults on the Adobe PDF printer to put the output PDF file into a directory and not to open it so it works silently without prompts.
When I run my application as a service, it brings up the 'Save PDF File As' dialog and I would like to avoid this. My impression is that if I put the right registry key in then it will work.
I do not want to do any scripting if I can avoid it.

Thank for your help Bill, but changing settings in the distiller did not seem to work. As my application prints directly to the default application without using anything specific to Acrobat, I was hoping there was a simple way forward. A colleague suggested copying registry entries from the account I logged on as to the S-1-5-18 entry, then rebooting. This had no effect as the prompt still comes up.
Aandi, I don't have the Acrobat SDK or any experience of it.
Also I'm not sure where any code/script would sit since the application is stable and so I would rather not change it.
If it amounts to a few lines of javascript sitting outside the application then that would be of interest.

Cannot print to Adobe PDF from InDesign CS4 under Snow Leopard (10.6.2)

Hopefully the subject line says all. Running SL and CS4, and after manually deleting the "old" Adobe PDF 9.0 driver, I am unable to print to PDF — or select "Save As Adobe PDF" under the Mac OS print dialog. This is insanely frustrating on may levels, as this was once a 3-minute operation and now has stretched into two days of futile searching for a solution.
There is a "tech doc" somewhere out there that offers a "solution". But beware, as it has not worked for me. Once you manually search for and remove the Adobe PDF 9.0 driver, you are supposed to magically be able to select the "Save As Adobe PDF" option. This is not the case for me.
Am trying to print, once again, from InDesign CS4 (NOT via the Export command as that will not allow me to set page size, or print separations). There is no Adobe PDF driver there anymore and there is no option to print PDFs. Of course, I can rest easier with the knowledge that everything is easier now in SL.

For a long time I was printing out of InDesign CS4 to a PS file and Distilling to a PDF, either composite or separated. Then Snow Leopard came along and that workflow seemed no longer available. It seems some well meaning people didn't understand a professional DTP workflow.
I had to work between two Macs to create a project and then make separations.
Eventually I went back to the Adobe InDesign forums and folks insisted that a Adobe PDF 9 printer should be available in my print drivers.
On that suggestion I completely uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and then reinstalled it.
It worked, I had the PDF printer back and can now print to a postscript file and do separations as I always have.
(Another story is that Snow Leopard killed my Epson 2200 printer)
At one stage I did an update of Acrobat 9 and it caused me to lose the Adobe printer again. Going through the procedure again brought it back and this time after a Acrobat 9 update it stuck.
In my opinion somebody screwed up. It's not enough to be able to create PDFs out of Microsoft Word. There are people out here trying to make a living and need to be able to create print separations for some offset printers.
