Error  Processing "Account" Dimension in BPC 7.5

Good Afternoon,
I am having difficulties processing the account dimension from the Admin function.  I can not save to server or process dimension.  I get the following log error message. This is impeding my ability to add or change account information.  I recently was on maternity leave for 3 months and I am not sure if it is a combination of inactivity coupled with a new PC?  I have recently been provided with  a new laptop, which I am unsure is configured properly.

We are running BPC 7.5 on a SQL 2008 server, and  I wanted to check with the blog before Uninstalling and reinstalling the BPC osoft 7.5 application.
Previously, on my old laptop, I had this capability, and I can run and process all the other dimensions in our list via the Admin feature.  I have also tried to  refresh dimensions via the BPC EMP add in, and that seems to not throw any error logs, so I am unsure as to what my next step should be.
Plesae advise if I need additional updates to this new computer or if anyone else has seen this error message.

if you're unsure that your PC isn't well configured please verify this with the 1678822 - Third Party Software Support Matrix For BPC for Microsoft 7.X, 10.X
Then run client and server diagnostic to see if there are problems.
If all ok the dimension file could be corrupted so please change the name of your xls dim file and try to export your dimension, process it and see if ok, if not check the property in the xls dimension file with the modify dimension property in admin console.

    Go to SU53 T-code from the back end , you can find the authorization issues;  It will clearly mention what authorizations are missing in Red.

  • Issue Processing Account Dimension When Number of Levels Decreases

    Hello.
    We have an issue processing the account dimension. It started at 8 levels, then decreased to 6 levels. However, the processing errors out. If we add some dummy members to bring it back to 8 levels, then it process fine.
    Any ideas?

    the numbers of levels is not important.
    I think the changes done into your dimensions are wrong and adding dummy members is doing correction of that error.
    To be able to understand the issue I need to know what version of BPC are you using and it will be good to see also the dimension.
    Do you have more than one hierarchy?

  • How to hide member Account dimension from BPC Administrator for Reporting

    Hi experts, i need to hide some members of the Account dimension for reporting, because those members dont use it anymore, but i dont want delete them.
    The question is: Does it exist any propierties for this dimension type that allows hiding members in reporting without set members in the BPC for Excel?
    I can create a report which contain the members i want to show, but if any change occurs (client desire) the report is outdated.

    Ignacio,
    There is no function like that.
    You can choose below two options.
    1. Create a property like  'NOUSE'  and set a value 'Y' for unused member
         When you create EVDRE report, set a filter against that property that has value 'N'
         then those members will not be shown at the report.
    2. Create 'NOUSE' parent member and put members under this parent member.
    Maybe option 1 is more easier to do that.

  • Account Dimension not showing all members in the cube in Analysis Services

             In SAP - BPC 5.1 after processing account dimension all the members are created under account dimension in analysis services but the same cannot be found in the data cube. Hence the reports generated through SAP - BPC is not showing all the members.
             The issue looks very strange as we can see the members getting created but the same is not getting populated in the cubes. I am not able to visualize what exacly the issue is? Is it with the application or with the analysis services?

    Your sixth sense is correct, there is definitely support in MSAS and BPC 5.1 for multiple hierarchies in the account dimension.
    I'm also referring to parentH1 and parentH2, but perhaps we're still speaking of different things.
    In the past, I faced a very similar problem as you, and the root cause was because I had one member, let's call it FancyParent, which, in H1, had children Child1 and Child2.
    But in H2 it had children Child1, Child2 and Child3. I forget now if that was how I wanted the setup to be, or if it was a mistake on my part, but either way, MSAS doesn't allow this. The admin consol didn't complain when processing the dimension -- this was in Outlooksoft 5.0; perhaps validation has improved now.
    But the cube was completely unworkable. Certain things were calculating correctly, but everything in the account dimension in the area around FancyParent (above and below it, in both hierarchies) was quite unpredictable.
    By disabling first one, and then the other, of the two hierarchies, and disabling blocks of accounts, I was eventually able to pinpoint the problem. But it took days to figure out what was the problem. (The account dimension had 2500 members and 4 hierarchies, and it was not a pretty sight.)
    A parent must have the same definition of children in all hierarchies. It can't, as another example, have children in H1, and be a base member in H2. Each member can have different parents in the two hierarchies, but must always have the same children in both.
    To work around this problem, I had to create two separate accounts NetIncomeH1 and NetIncomeH2 (and PretaxIncomeH1, PretaxIncomH2, etc. all the way down to the point where they branched off), to get the two separate aggregations of the P&L in the two hierarchies. Once I did that, it made sense to me why, but I also swore off on frivolous extra hierarchies ever again.

  • Account dimension hierarchy text nodes ACCTYPE property

    We have master data being populated into BPC from BW. So for the Account dimension in BPC, we use the 0GL_ACCOUNT infoobject in BW. This infoobject also has all the Financial statement version hierarchies which are being loaded to BPC. The question that I have is, how should the hierarchy text node values for ACCTYPE property be populated if I have to automate this load on a daily basis.
    For the actual GL accounts, we have the account number ranges defined. Like 1* series accounts are Assets etc..So we can easily define a rule for populating the ACCTYPE  property values. But not sure if there is any easy logic for populating the hierarchy text nodes as we dont have any pattern in them. Would we need to maintain it manually always?

    If there is really no logic behind them there is off course no way of automating this. Then I guess you will have to maintain each node separately.
    Some customers are also willing to change their text node structure. For example I had one when where the rules for the 0HIER_NODE records were as follows:
    *           EXP -> Starts with 32*, 311*, 312*, 321*, 3111*, 3112*,
    *                  3142*,  31111*,  31112*,  311111*
    *           INC -> Starts with TOT, 3000000000, 3100000000, 313*,
    *                  322*, 3113*, 3141*, 31113*, 311112*
    *           AST -> Starts with 1*
    *           LEQ -> Starts with 2*

  • BPC V7 Install process the dimension error "ActiveX component can't create"

    All,
    We are installing BPC v7 M on SQL 2008.
    We have split server Install. We have installed everything as advised by the install guide.
    The install for V7 was successful. We can Modified all the app with in the appset. The server manager has all Green checkes.
    But wen we process the dimension we get ActiveX component can't create objectObject variable or With block variable not set error.
    I have seen this post as well - Re: BPC migration to 7.0
    We have make sure our secuirty to the database is working.
    We have make sure the xceedzip.dll is in the correct folder.
    We can also have installed BPC clinet and Admin few times and re started the server fre times.
    Can any one help? any other suggestion?

    Thanks for helping, As stated The Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack was not installed on app server and causing the problem.
    I have installed that patch on APP server and all is working.

  • Error OLAP processing one application - SAP BPC 7.0 MS

    Hi everybody,
    This is our problem, when i try to process my application called "Consolidation", it always fails and appears the following error message:
    "Cube process: Errors in the OLAP storage engine. The Attribute key cannot be found: Table dbo_tblFactConsolidation, column ACCOUNT, value: E1500."
    We tried to launch a full process of this dimension "ACCOUNT", but also it fails.
    Could anybody say me what is happening?

    Here is the solution for solving this issue.
    <Reason>
        -. Your fact table has invalid record. In your case, it is 'E1500'.
        -. It means, Account dimension doesn't have E1500 member but your fact table has that records.
           Therefore, Analysis Service can't process it.
        -. Usually it happens when user load data from outside source to BPC without validation.
        -. If you are using 'make dimension package' 5.1 SP8, it might be a bug. I saw that issue in that  version but this error doesn't happen when you create dimension from excel worksheet through BPC admin console.
    <Solution>
        -.  Select records from fact tables that has 'E1500' from account column.
        -.  Delete it.
    <Note>
         - Due to MS analysis Service error detect system, this invalid member will detect one by one.
           Therefore, you may need to repeat this step again and again.
         - One solution to avoid this is finding invalid members between fact and dim tables using Join query.
           Here is sample SQL query,
           select a.ID, b.account from mbrAccount as a right join tblFactFinance as b
           on a.ID = b.ACCOUNT where a.ID is null
           It will show all invalid member Id in account column from facttable  so that you can figure out which account was wrong. It can save your time a lot to avoid process cube again and again.

    You can find the details of diemnsions and its infoobject technical name in the table UJA_DIMENSION.
    The filed TECH_NAME holds the infoobject technical name in BW for a particular dimension in BPC.

  • Error in Processing Material Dimension

    We are on BPC 7.5 MS. The Material Dimension has 70000 (SEVENTY THOUSANDS MATERIAL IDS).
    When we are porcessing from the front end through BPC Admin COnsole, its taking about 3 hours to process and also at the end its saying the "THREAD WAS BEING ABORTED"
    We are using the SSIS Task to create and process the Material Dimenion . Since we ar eloading daily we are processing the dimension also daily. The package status is shoiwng successfuly , but when we are going to access the BPF where the MATERIAL DIMENSION is designed as Data Region its given an error " YOU ARE NOT AUTHRIZED TO ACCESS THIS ACTION" But at the same time when we are processing the dimension form the front end the BPF is accessing but there is a error message at the end of the Dimension Processing.
    Can any body throiw some light on the same.

    To let you know. We went live 10 days back. We are using the SSIS Admin Task to create & process the Dimension. The material Dimension is getting processed every day and the data load is also happening daily.
    But suddenly from the last Wednesday we have faced this issue.
    We have configured BPF with Drive Dimension as Material & Time. Initially the BPF was also working fine. But from last Wednesday after the Material Dimension  the planners cannot access the BPF.
    To update your queries, we have only one Hierachy but we have 10 properties and we are creating the Hierarchy and the Properties at the run time. There are no Dimension Formula
    Till yesterday the packages that we had scheduled at Midnight were successfully running both for Creating  & Processing Material Dimension and also Append to Fact Table was also working fine.

    Each step should have a driver dimension. This dimension needs to have the OWNER property. So, in each step, you need to select which is the driver dimension. And you need to select the member as well.

  • Error in process the Dimension

    We have a domain installtion of the BPC 7.0 MS Version.
    Now whenever we are trying to process any dimension with the option "PROCESS MEMBER FROM THE MEMBER SHEET" the following error is coming " There's no data in the mbr table to validate and process"

  • When logging on to my account a receive this message "the server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later".  This is not a new account. I have changed my password and nothing works.  What am I doing wrong.

    I had to same problem. I found forums about adding the DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in System Preferences - Networks I did that and it still didnt work.  Just found another forum saying to go into System Preferences - Time and Date and check the Set time and Date automatically. And it worked for me. Hope it works for you too.

  • BPC Consolidation Account Dimension - R_ACCT X C_ACCT X O_ACCT X P_ACCT

    I search for all the forum and I didn't find any explanation about the use of the "standards" accounts on BPC, we are using BPC 7.0 for NW.
    Why BPC NW differentiate the dimensions depending on which application are going to be included?
    For example BPC NW has four dimensions for the account C_ACCT(consolidation), R_ACCT(rate), P_ACCT(Planning) and O_ACCT(Ownership).
    In our consolidation project we have the planning front too so at the end we will have only a group chart of account for both.
    Can we maintain only an account dimension or is there a technically requirement to mantain three or more account dimensions?
    One for Legal App, one for Ownership App, one for Intercompany Matching App and one for planning?
    So we should have to use same dimension, an example the C_ACCT, on all application or we have to use each dimension in their owing application and change them with same data? That's the question.
    Could someone explain what would we do in this scenario? Please don't send documentation because on every one we read are saying to use different, but how is the maintenance for that, explain this.

    Hello Alexandre,
    You cannot use the same account dimension in all these applications, because the Rate and Ownership applications are designed to store currency conversion and ownership related data, so it would make no sense to add a financial chart of account to these applications. You could however use the same CoA between your Consolidation and your ICMatching, the idea to have two different ones is that you only have Intercompany data from some of your accounts and you may also want to use different roll-ups of your account to perform you IC Matching.
    Here are the 4 account dimension:
    - R_ACCT used in the Rate application, contains type of rates (like "END", "AVG)
    - O_ACCT used in the Ownership application, contains method and percentage of consolidations (like "METHOD","PCON","POWN,...)
    - C_ACCT used in the consolidation application, containt the financial Char of Account (Balance Sheet, P&L, ...)
    - P_ACCT used in the planning application, contains account specific for Planning.
    You could share the same CoA between your Consolidaiton and Planning, as long as you can defined a common one that fits both purposes

    I'm currently facing a strange problem, when using SmartView 11.1.2 with a HFM application. I have the same application with the same metadata once on a 9.3.3 server and once on a 11.1.2 server.
    When I connect to 9.3.3 select a grid and put the accounts dimension into POV everything works fine.
    When I do exactly the same on 11.1.2 i get the error: XML Load error: A semi colon character was expected
    Does anyone have an idea, what could be the cause of this problem and/or how to fix this?

    thanks for your answers. From all I could find out from Oracle support, I'll have to wait until 11.1.2.1 is GA and then try again :-(
    Or will there be a patch for 11.1.2.0 as well?
