Error RCU-6083 during RCU installation prior to OBIEE 11g on Solaris
Hello,
I have an application server where I have an Oracle Database EE 11g running on Solaris 10 upgrade 9.
The server has the following characteristics:
- SUN V440
- RAM 16GB
- 2 processors Ultra Sparc III, 1.5GHz
- OS: Solaris version 10
- Disk space: 500GB
- Oracle Weblogic Server 11g (10.3)
- Ethernet 1 Gpbs
I want to install the RCU schemas and OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5.0) on this server so I verified all the pre-requisites for RCU and OBIEE and are OK.
I am using the Repository Creation Utility (11.1.1.5.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) to install the RCU because although the database is running on Solaris, the installer is not working through that server so I have a PC connected to the network and through that PC that has windows7 i could run the installer and connect to the db, using the SYSTEM user (because when i select sys as sysdba, although the password is correct, it doesn't connect to the db).
However, the installer is sending the ERROR: RCU-6083 regarding the pre-requisites for the BIPLATFORM.
I already use the following command alter system set processes=500 and restarted the db services, however the wizard installer is still sendig that error.
What can be done to succesfully install the RCU?

1) Do I need to install any Oracle DB (like to install 10g) prior to running rcu.bat file?

2) If I install Oracle 10g DB, does if create any compatibility issue while installing OBIEE 11g?

I tried to open my rpd in online mode in OBIEE 11g, For that i went into EM for getting my rpd updated...
So after all doing changes, I need to restart for applying changes, so I restarted the system components
But only 80% of it started, remaining 20% is showing error and these are the error details

how to solve these errors, because of this i couldn't able to open my repository in online mode as well as cannot able to update my .rpd file in presentation services in obiee 11g..

Harry...It's myself harry and i solved this problem, since this problem occurred for me as i tried to update my repository.rpd file for more than 5 times because of the error that it reported to me in my previous post...
How i solved this error means, i deleted all the other .rpd files(out of 5 i deleted 4) and i made some changes in my rpd file in the administration tool and after that i tried to update my rpd in EM..
Once it updated, then i gave restart to apply recent changes, after that my system components tempt to work as of 100%...

I have installed a new ERP system from the installation DVDs for ERP 6.0 EHP4 Ready. As part of the post-installations I am installing EHP4.
I have installed the newest SPAM 7.01/39 (and Basis-SPs SAPKB70104-SAPKB70106, ...)
I generated a stackfile in solman with target stack and added only Patch 21 for HR and EA-HR in phase BIND_PATCH.
During phase CONFLICT_CHECK I get:
ERROR> Conflicts found.
Check log file 'SPDA_CONFLCHK.LOG' for details.
To resolve the conflicts the current step will be repeated and you must change your Add-on or Support Package selection or add Conflict Resolution Patches (CRT).

I don't understand the problem of EHPI: The IS-UT 600 is already in the system, and FI-CA 6.04 belongs to EHP4

ad a) How can I reinstall the "right "SPAM-Update 7.01/39, if it is in the system already.... ? ( I haved used the one of the newest Solman 7.0 DVD SP 19-23.
ad b) I have checked table PATEXCPT, but the entry ""R3TR,SFSW,CONV_INV" is missing. Will it be installed, if I somehow manage to reinstall the SPAM-Update ?
It would have helped a lot if a warning about a wrong SPAM-Version was in note 822379 or somewhere else. I hope, some SAP-collegue will do it later....

Gns is getting failed with error CRS-2632 during RAC installation
hello guys i am new to oracle RAC and i am trying to configure two node ORACLE 11G R2 RAC setup on OEL 5.4 using GNS Every things works great till I execute

while configuring Public Ip for the nodes i was not giving Default Gateway .I was assuming as all these machine is in same network with same Ip range so they would not be needing Gateway but here my assumption mismatch with oracle well finally happy to see 11G r2 with GNS running on my personal laptop.

Satellite L850 - Error Code 0xC0000005 during Win8 installation
Hello, i have a Satellite L850-1v3 Laptop and accidentally i destroyed my Hard drive
Now, i'm trying to install Windows 8 in a new hard drive but it always get stuck on 89% and this error code come up "0xC0000005"
I have tried with different Installation discs, through CDROM, usb etc

No, i haven't the original DVDs..
I downloaded Win8 and i have tried to install them in other machines with success..
Windows 7 can be installed in the hard drive..So there is a problem with the Windows 8 installation in that Laptop..

I have a Toshiba Satellite A80. The computer crashed. I inserted the Windows recovery disk and error #49 with writing problem showed up.

I dont know when you exactly get this message but theoretically it could be a problem of the HDD. Maybe it has defective sectors and should be replaced
Can you also test the same using a Microsoft disk? Maybe the disk is scratched -

OBIEE 11g installation error while configuring (opmnctl error)
While installing OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.3.0),(32-bit) we have choosen software only install and the software was installed successfully. While configuring in 10 th step we are getting the following errors.
We have installed webserver before installing OBIEE 11g.
OS is Windows server 2008
Executing: opmnctl start coreapplication_obips1 falied and
Executing: opmnctl start coreapplication_obisch1.
we are using dynamic IP addressThanks, It worked. I unzipped all the folders in a single folder and then with the single Setup.exe it automatically loaded the complete software.
Best Way - Import all the download file into a single folder and run the .exe

Error bringing up /analytics in OBIEE 11g
I recently installed OBIEE 11g on Solaris.
After the installation was completed, I can log into WebLogic Console and Enterprise Manager. I could not open up the <host>:9704/analytics page. All of the services required to start up were started.
After reviewing the error messages on EM, I noticed the following error messages.

Specifically note : Oracle BI Scheduler Server runs Delivers jobs for users without accessing or storing their passwords. Using a process called impersonation, Oracle BI Scheduler uses one user name and password with Oracle Business Intelligence administrative privileges that can act on behalf of other users. Oracle BI Scheduler initiates an Agent by logging on to Oracle BI Presentation Services with the Oracle Business Intelligence administrative name and password.
For Delivers to work, all database authentication must be performed in only one connection pool, and that connection pool can only be selected in an initialization block for the USER system session variable. This is typically called the Authentication Initialization Block. When impersonation is used, this initialization block is skipped. All other initialization blocks must use connection pools that do not use database authentication.

Getting the error during RCU installation

I tried manually created a user and provided the sysdba priveiledge to that user and gave that user name and pwd in the database connection steps of RCU installation and gave next .this time i dint get the invalid username /pwd error.But instead i got the below error.
RCU-6002:The specified database does not meet the minimum requirement to load metadata repository.
RCU-6080:Global prerequisite check failed - Check requirement for specified database
The database you are connecting is with non-AL32UTF8 character set. Oracle strongly recommends using AL32UTF8 as the database character set.
Can anyone suggest an idea to resolve this issue . -
Error when trying to run the rcu.bat file as part of OBIEE 11g installation
when trying to run the rcu.bat file as part of OBIEE 11g installation on windows 7 64 bit I am getting the following error
"windows cannot find C:\Users\manoj\Desktop\Oracle.Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again".
Please help me how to overcome this error, I am not able to understand why it is looking for C:\Users\manoj\Desktop\Oracle.

Manojafter setting the ORACLE_HOME and Path environment variables also....I am still getting the same error...so is it like RCU can be run only on windows 7 32-bit machines and it does not work on 64-bit machines? and also it seems like the previous versions of OBIEE 10.1.3.X does not support windows 7 64-bit machines...
please help me finding a solution to this error....
and what are all the versions of OBIEE can be installed on windows 7 64-bit machines?
can't we install OBIEE 11g on windows 7 64-bit machines without including RCU?

Fire the following query:-
alter system set processes=300 scope=spfile;
We typically make it 500 instead of 300... 300 is minimum.,..
Then restart the database server...
SQL>shutdown immediate;
Then
SQL>startup;
This is the correct answer.
