Error reading job logs of Apps server from Central Instance

Dear Gurus,
We have newly installed system with one CI ( cluster environment) and 2 application Instances.
Systems are recently installed by other team. I am looking into support part after handover.
We have noticed below error while reading failed background job logs from our CI. If suppose any job is failing, we can read respective job log from that application instance but it throws error while reading job log from CI to either of application instance.
I checked /sapmnt/SID/global is shared among all 3 servers and i am successfully able to "Touch a" from applications instances.
Even though i have given "777" permissions to all folders like  /sapmnt/SID , /sapmnt/SID/global , /sapmnt/SID/global/400JOB*
I am not able to read job log from CI , for same failed job I can read job log from respective application instance.
Error log :
Error reading job log JOBLGX00080700X39290
Message no. BT167
Diagnosis
The background processing system was unable to read the job log named in the message.
This message suggests that there is a problem with the TEMSE storage system of the SAP system.  The TEMSE storage system is a repository for temporary objects, such as job logs and spool requests. Job logs are always stored in the TEMSE as operating system files.
This error occurs if the TEMSE system is not able to find or access the file that contains the text of the job log that you requested. Possible causes for the loss or unavailability of the job log include the following:
Someone deleted the required TEMSE file (from the operating system, not from within the SAP system).
A CRON (or equivalent scheduler) job has deleted the TEMSE file.
The file system in which the TEMSE stores its files is not mounted or is not accessible (NFS problem, disk failure, or similar problem).
The TEMSE reorganize or consistency check functions were used within the SAP system and deleted the job log.
SM21 logs :
Error 2 for write/read access to a file. File = /usr/sap/SID/SYS/global
BP_JOBLOG_SHOW: Failed to display jobs. Reason:
> Error reading job log JOBLGX00080700X39290
Strange this is I can check failed job log on one application instance frfom other application instance but not from CI.
Kindly throw some lights where to check.
Regards,

Hi Shravan,
I guess it is related to permission to /sapmnt/SID/global folder. Please ensure owner is sidadm:sapsys in all the systems viz CI, App servers etc.
Check the mounting options are correctly set with read/write mode.
Hope this helps.

  • Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 Installation Error can't configure the App Server from Config Manager

    Hello All-
We are trying to install the Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 SP2 and we are getting some issues while configuring the Application Server from the Config Manager, not sure why are those showing up, we never had these issues before when we installed 8.0, please look at the lcm log and the screenshot I provided for the errors which we are getting.
We are trying to configure the remote Application Server WebSphere on Linux from my machine which is on Windows and i made the target Application Server as WebSphere and target platform as linux when i initially installed the livecycle media.
The LCM logs say it failed to run the jacl scripts in the LiveCycle root directory and we wonder why is it pointing for the target Application Server to the Application Server which resides on my machine rather than it should point to the one on server. I am not sure what's going on and we did exactly what we did for 8.0.
Below are the environment details where we are trying to install.
    Adobe LiveCycle ES: 8.2 SP2
    Database: IBM DB2 9.1 FP4.
JVM Version and Vendor: 1.5.0 IBM Corporation
Application server: IBM WebSphere Application Server/6.1.0.19
    Operating System: Linux
    Hardware: x86 .
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks-
    Karthik.

    Hi All,
Even i was facing the same issue but i was able to resolve it.
Although the earlier reply from karthik_chowdary was sent way back in 2008 and i think would have got resolved till now, but still the resolution which i have found is
The port i was using on the app server conf screen was that of application server HTTP Port.
But here in case of WebSphere ND, we need to use port specified in WAS UI > System administrator > Deployment manager > Ports
Try using that by default it is 8879.
    And this resolved the issue.

  • F110 " Error in creating the payment document; read job log"

    Hi all,
when i execute payment in Tcode F110, getting message " Error in creating the payment document; read job log".
Log for payment run for payment on 30.07.2009, identification TEST1
Error in the recovery of constants
Information re. vendor 1000040256 / paying company code BG10 ...
... payment not possible because of reported error
Because of it, the payment file is also not generated.
The status says " Payment run has been carried out".
But when the open items are cleared.
What could be the reason for this error message?
    Regards,
    Vidya

    Hi,
As the document is in the cleared status, you can try finding out with which run date and run id the documents got cleared. Go to Transaction code SE12 and give the following details - Company code, vendor code and the payment documents (clearing document for the invoice) or you can also give the invoice document numbers and fiscal year.
The output will tell you which payment run id and run date was used to process the payment.
Hope this will help you understand what has happened.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Need to make periodic request to App Server from NSAPI SAF

I have to send a keep alive ping to a existing Session on our app server from a NSAPI SAF on IWS6.
First, is making a direct socket call the best way to handle it or is there another suggestion for sending the request.
Second, if using the direct socket connection is the way to go do I need to use the net_* methods within the NSAPI code or can I use native socket code.
Third, will there be any issues with making this type of socket call from a spawned thread, and can I use the native threads on Sun Solarias.
Some code examples would be very helpful since I can't find much at all on the site.

NSAPI doesn't expose any infrastructure for managing outbound connections, and the list of supported net_* functions does not include socket, bind, or connect analogs. You are probably best off using native socket code.
On Solaris, you can create your thread using the NSAPI systhread_create function or the Solaris pthread_create or thr_create functions. Note that you should not call NSAPI functions from a thread you create yourself unless you first call the NSAPI prepare_nsapi_thread function.

  • Logging in App Server 7 and App Server 8

    Hi,
We have an application (servlets/MDBs/EJBs) running in the Sun Application Server 7 that we want to run on the Sun Application Server 8 (J2EE 1.4.2).
The application has logging facilities with various objects having their own java.util.logging.Logger...
    java.util.logging.Logger m_logger = java.util.logging.Logger.getLogger( "ServletLogger" ) ;
    m_logger.fine( "How do I get this in the App Server log file?" );
To enable the above logging in App Server 7, I would simply set the global App Server logging level to "FINE" using the admin console. How can I do the same with the App Server 8?
I've tried using the admin console to set the App Server logging levels to "FINE", but they seem to only effect the App Server itself and not the code it is running. I've also tried adding the following properties in the "Logging Levels" page of the admin console...
    ServletLogger FINE
    ServletLogger.level FINE
    .level FINE
but they don't seem to make any difference? Any help will be most appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Paul

Goto the admin console (port 4848 for default domain).
Click on Topmost Leftmost link -- "Application Server."
    choose the "Logging" Tab.
    Choose the "Log Levels" tab.
    add a new property
com.company.app.applogger        FINER and in your code, :-
Logger applogger = Logger.getLogger("com.company.app.applogger "); Now if only I knew how to keep a separate log file for this.

  • Upgrading My Oracle App Server from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3 without uninstalling ?

    Hi All,
Is their any way we can just upgrade the app server from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3 with uninstalling the older 10.1.2 and reinstalling 10.1.3 ?
    Thanks
    Raghavendra

No and yes. Please note that 10.1.2 is a full release and 10.1.3 is a Java only release, i.e. no Portal, Forms, Reports, Discoverer, Web Cache etc.
Please check out the document "Oracle Application Server Upgrade and Compatibility Guide" on the Documentation Disk for 10.1.3.
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/getstart.htm
Check chapter 1.2 "What Does It Mean to Upgrade to 10g Release 3 (10.1.3)?"

  • A client is trying to write pdfs to a remote server from Central

A client is trying to write pdfs to a remote server from Central, they can send a dat files from the remote server to Central and they can copy files from the Central Server in Windows Explorer and from a Command prompt, the folder is set to users everyone, read, write, etc. Central gives the cannot find output device in log. Central is installed with a local user ID and local host. Any ideas I am not finding anything on this on devnet forums I am going to check JetForm Alumni next. Thanks. I think it has something to do with the Central account and password but I don't know what to do.

It sounds like the account used to run Central does not have rights to access that remote server/directory.
Try changing the Central user account to use a more privileged account - normally a network account would be used to allow access to all resources across the enterprise - printers and file shares.

  • How to make upgrade from application server and not from central instance?

    Hello SAP Gurus!
I have SAP ECC release 6.0, and I´m gonna make upgrade to enhancement package 6.06, do you know if Can I make upgrade from application server, but not from central instance?
    Thanks.

    Hi Victor,
Upgrade process has to execute from the server where message server is running.
So I guess it is not possible to initiate the SAP upgrade  from application server.

    Hi,
just want to clarify that is is not correct that only one enqueue process can be configured on the CI.
Please see the documentation within transaction RZ11 for the parameter Parameter : rdisp/wp_no_enq
Short description : number of enqueue work processes
    Parameter description :
You can use this parameter to define the number of enqueue work processes for the instance.
Ensure that a value >0 is only set on the central instance that provides the enqueue server (instance rdisp/enqname ). One enqueue work process on the central instance is normally sufficient (rdisp/wp_no_enq = 1); only in very large systems can a higher value be useful.

  • F110 Error 007 - Error in creating the payment document; read job log

We have created a new SAP instance (vers 4.7) and testing if its working.

What appears to be the offending line in the log (Error ZT004) is blank, so gives me no clues as to the problem.  I'm at a loss what to check net, and I'm hoping somebody can help me.
    Any advise welcome.
    Thanks
    Graham

Thanks Ji, that gives me a much better log to look through.
I've been doing a lot more testing as a result, but ultimately still come up blank.  Heres why I am....
    1.  I have 2 payment methods...
    C-Cheque
    E=BACS
    2. I pay 2 types of vendors...
    Eternal (i.e. Invoices)
    Internal (i.e. Employees expenses)
    3. The payment proposal step is working fine for external suppliers on both payment methods, but fails for internal on both methods.
    4. I am using the same payment terms on everything (Immediate payment no discount)
5.The only difference in the logs is (i.e. the line below does not appear on the external supplier logs).....
Cash discount base amount not set!                                                              FZ           753
    6. The accounting documents look as I expect (External have an amount in the Cash Discount base, internal do not), this is how our current system behaves where we do not have any issues, and I cannot see any differences in the vendor document between the 2 systems
    7. Incase I have missed something that is the real cause of the problem, here is the full log.
If you have any ideas what the problem still is, advice would be gratefully received, as I am pulling what little hair I have left out.

  • Java.io.NotSerializableException error when starting 8.1 app server

I am running JES 054Q with uwc deployed on the app server 8.1 (along with am, portal, and da). I think this might occur if you don't have the patch for SunAlert 46042 installed. There's more information on this critical Solaris security vulnerability, which was reported back in 2002, at http://sunsolve.central.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-26-46042-1
Can you run the following command to check if you have patch 109326-09 installed and let us know the result?showrev -p | grep 109326If you don't have 109326-09 or higher installed, you should install it as soon as possible. You can follow the link from the SunAlert. Better yet, install the latest Solaris 8 recommended patch cluster from http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=patches/patch-access to make sure your system is fully patched and up to date.

  • Error deploying to standalone OC4J app server

    Hey all,
I created a web app with jdeveloper 10.1.3.3 using OC4J 10.1.3.3 as well. I'm using EJB and session beans to communicate with a database. nothing particularly fancy about it, i just read tables from the db. however, when i try and deploy through jdev to the standalone OC4J i get an error. here's the last part of the deployment log when it fails:
    Deployment Log:
Binding ibmswauth web-module for application ibmswauth to site default-web-site under context root ibmswauth
    Operation failed with error:
[ibmswauth:ibmswauth] - Exception creating EntityManagerFactory using PersistenceProvider class oracle.toplink.essentials.PersistenceProvider for persistence unit WD_WORK.
The only thing in my Persistence.xml file is the <persistence-unit> tag with name "WD_WORK", and in that a <jta-data-source> tag.
Also, it runs fine on the local embedded server, it's only when i try and deploy that it gives this error. I even deployed my app to an EAR file and tried uploading it manually to the app server, still same error.
    any ideas?

If you have a model project that has objects referenced by the view controller/UI project then you need to explicitly include them in the deployment. Unlike in embedded OC4J they wont be automatically included.
Create an ADF library deployment profile in the model project and include the generated library in your UI project war file. You can add this jar to the project Libraries/Classpath then make sure it is included in the WEB-INF/lib Contributors list.

  • Error when trying to start managed server from node manager

I have a managed server which is authenticated through a WeblogicAuthenticProvider. When starting the managed server from command line I need to setup certain jars in the classpath in order to start it successfully. However when I try and start the managed server from a node manager, I receive the following error.
Any ideas as to what is going on are appreciated. Is there any way to force Weblogic Node manager to invoke the actual startManagedWeblogic.cmd when bringing up the managed server
    Thanks
