Error reading MimeBodyPart

Question

I am trying to read all attachments sent in a mail and getting error java.io.IOException: Error in encoded stream, got 3 for few emails. The code is like
OutputStream os = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(filepath));
                              InputStream is = mbp.getInputStream();
                              int c;
                              while ((c = is.read()) != -1)
                                   os.write(c);
                              os.close();
It is failing in is.read()) with error
java.io.IOException: Error in encoded stream, got 3
     at com.sun.mail.util.BASE64DecoderStream.decode(BASE64DecoderStream.java:148)
     at com.sun.mail.util.BASE64DecoderStream.read(BASE64DecoderStream.java:53)
The encoding for attachment is base64 but the header Content-Transfer-Encoding is quoted-printable. We are using Java mail 1.3. Any way i can avoid the error for java mail 1.3? Java mail 1.3 doesn't have mail.mime.base64.ignoreerrors property, so can't set it.

No, you can't use the MimeUtility methods because that's where the error is
currently being detected that's preventing you from handling this (probably
incorrectly encoded) content. You're going to need to write your own base64
decoder that ignores errors.
Of course, before you go to all that trouble, you should determine whether
the content is incorrectly encoded, and whether ignoring the encoding
errors will produce the output you expect.
Try saving the entire message to a file (Message.writeTo), and then using
the JavaMail msgshow.java demo program with JavaMail 1.4.4 to read the file
and save the attachments.
