Error reading SMTP packet; response to RCPT TO command expected

Hi all, we have started experiencing problems on our mail environment (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 2.09 (built Nov 18 2005)) re: sending mail to hotmail.
For many emails sent to hotmail, we are getting the following error:
Error reading SMTP packet; response to RCPT TO command expected
We are not experiencing any errors when sending to yahoo from our iMS5.2 environment. Nor are we experiencing any errors when we send mail from our Microsoft Exchange server to hotmail.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Stewart

Hi all again, further to my previous posting, I have some more info.
In our iMS5.2 environment, we have two mail relays/gateways. Today I tried manually sending emails to hotmail using telnet. I found that I was able to send an email from one gateway (gw2) but not the other (gw1). On the mail gateway that I can't send an email, gw1, using telnet, I get the following error:
550 Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this gateway. Reasons for rejection may be related to content such as obscene language, graphics, or spam-like characteristics (or) other reputation problems. For sender troubleshooting information, please go to http://postmaster.msn.com. Please note: if you are an end-user please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for assistance.
A search on Google reveals this blocking is quite common with hotmail.
Am I right is thinking that hotmail is blocking emails that originate from mail gateway gw1 that is having problems? And if so, what can be done to remedy the situation?
Thanks in advance,
Stewart

Can anybody point me to the right direction? I keep getting this error once in a while. Is it a network or mail server problem?

Look at the time stamps toward the end of the slave_debug log file:
The server received the connection, sent the banner, received the EHLO, and replied to it all around 17:57:10.
Then STARTTLS and EHLO around 17:57:12. Then:
    17:57:13.20: Received : "MAIL FROM: SIZE=14800"
17:57:13.20: Debug output enabled, system smtp1.esuria.com.bn, process 0fcd.3, message enqueue routines version V6.3 compiled Aug 3 2007 17:13:34

18:03:00.75: os_smtp_read: [9] network read returned no data
It was over 5 minutes from when the server sent the response to the MAIL FROM until when the client sent the RCPT TO.
The server responded to the RCPT TO quickly enough, but then found the connection from the client had been closed.
This looks like a client problem or network performance problem.
It is also conceivable that it is is a server performance problem and it takes 5 minutes for the server process/thread to get back to receiving the RCPT TO. But, if that was the case, I would expect you to be complaining about the server performance rather than these occasional errors.

  • Error Reading Soap Response

    Hi,
We are having a problem reading Soap Response:
Scenario: From XI/PI we are calling a webservice with Synchronous
message with WS-Security including Authentication, Signature, TimeStamp
and Encryption using SOAP Receiver Adapter. We are able to send the
request successfully and also the webServer is able to understand the

We tested successfully end-end with NON-Secured sites with out WS-

Hi Raja- It seems to be a data quality issue.
Check for the value @ 1447 position in the xml message that you are trying to send to web service..
may be a date filed/decimal value which is not in expected format.

ask your question in the database sql and pl/sql-forum. You could also search that forum, there are lots of posts about UTL_SMTP.

  • File Sharing Service keeps crashing Error Reading Settings, File Sharing Service keeps crashing Error Reading Settings

File sharing service keeps popping up with the error message An error occurred on the server while processing a command.  This error occurred while processing a command of type 'getConnectedUsers' in plug-in 'servermgr_afp'.
I have tried multiple solutions on this site, unloading afp and restarting it, restarting postgres.  The file sharing tab will show up for a few seconds on the server.app config page then once someone tries to access any of the shared volumes on there, the event log shows it crashing instantly.  Error in console:
    The server '127.0.0.1' reported an error while processing a command of type 'getConnectedUsers' in plug-in: 'servermgr_afp'.  Error: Error Domain=XSActionErrorDomain Code=0 "SETTING_NOT_FOUND_ERR" UserInfo=0x7ffe6a835060 {NSLocalizedDescription=SETTING_NOT_FOUND_ERR}
Also I get the error com.apple.launchd: (com.apple.collabd.notifications[7520]) Exited with code 1 then always followed by Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds and this happens every 10 seconds without fail.

I have started getting this error this morning:
This error occurred while processing a command of type 'getConnectedUsers' in plug-in 'servermgr_afp'.
Using Server 2.2.2; MacMini running OS X 10.8.5, 2 GHz Core i7 with 8 GB RAM attached to a 12TB Pegasus RAID.
When the error appears, my users cease to be able to access file shares.
Often, just before the error occurs, my users experience substantial slow down in the Finder's responsiveness when manipulating files on those shares.
Restarting the Server App will produce one of several results
    1. fix the problem (rarely)
    2. fail to connect to server
    3. connect to server but not get all services running.
The system itself resists a full shutdown, hanging at the grayish-white screen (not spinning wheel or cog or apple logo).
I wish there was some known fix for this.

  • Error reading material cost estimate for sales order (KE292)

    Dear All,
I have an issue with billing. we are posting july month transactions, the material cost is maintained through MR21. When releasing billing document for accounting we are getting error message like"Error reading the material cost estimate for sales order "11"
    Message no. KE292
    Diagnosis
In Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), the system tried to valuate item 000010 of sales order 11 by reading the corresponding product cost estimate.
However, no product cost estimate could be found for this sales order item.
The system accessed product costing for product AMLFP011011XX00P using costing key YB3 as defined in the
    CO-PA Customizing settings.
    System Response
The system cannot process the document any further.
    Procedure
    Check your Customizing settings."
We cross checked with other client as a current date and we ran cost estimate through CK40N with same material. and we posted entries. Here it is working fine. but in above process it is not working. Can you pls guide me where i missed.
    Regards,
    Nagaraju,

    Hi,
When the Costing Key is assigned to the material types in the COPA customizing, then system expects Cost estimation when billing is released to Accounts.
If you dont run cost estimation but update the material master through MR21, system will not accept as in the Costing key configuration you must have selected the Current Standard price field for the valuation.
Hence, try to run cost estimation and then do releasing.
    Thanks & Regards

  • IMAP error messages "Error while parsing IMAP response"

I'm getting thousands of IMAP errors every hour, can I shut those off?
My console log is flooded with them and it keeps me from seeing anything else
in the system log.  The IMAP errors happen continuously while Mail.app is running.
It looks like debug output from Mail.app !?!
IMAP server is Beehive Server -- it's my company email so I need to use it.
Windows Outlook (Windows 7) shows no errors, possibly they're silently ignored
on Windows.  My disk is writing almost continuously when Mail.appo is running.
Sample error:  (thousands are generated per hour)
Apr  8 10:29:18 Js-Coolio-iMac.local Mail[22903]: Error while parsing IMAP response (null): Incomplete response
              Remaining text: <    Gian Luigi<br>>
              Full text: <    Gian Luigi<br>>
Any idea how to shut these off?  I reinstalled Mavericks, no improvement as expected
since this seems to be Mail complaining about IMAP protocol issues.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.  And yes I've rebooted, reinstalled the IMAP account,
    reinstalled Mavericks, etc.

  • Error message in soap response

    Hi,
I have created a SOAP message using SAAJ. I want to add error messages in the response. Any idea how to do this?
    Thanks!

Hi Raja- It seems to be a data quality issue.
Check for the value @ 1447 position in the xml message that you are trying to send to web service..
may be a date filed/decimal value which is not in expected format.

  • SSRS in SharePoint2013:Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModule

SSRS in SharePoint2013: There is a report in SharePoint and it contains a sub-report and the sub-report hyperlink. When I click the hyperlink to go to the sub-report, after >10min, I click the "Back to.." button
on IE to go to the previous page. Then it catch the error as:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.
    Details: Error parsing near '
    <!DOCTYPE html PUB'.
    I am using SQL2012 and Sharpoint2013.

    Hi Alisa,
Thanks for your reply, I changed the web.config, but the issue did not resolved.
I add the codes in two parts of the web.config as below, you can find in by keywords “aspnet:MaxHttpCollectionKeys”
This issue can not reproduce on Chrome only occur on IE.
So, do you have some details suggestion for me to fix it?

  • DBMAN350 Error reading MultiCube data over aggregate

Hi, I have handed down multicube over a Cube, DSO, and IP Aggregate.  When I try to display the data using a LISTCUBE I get errors.  I just noticed I get the same error in my development box.
    1. Error reading the data of InfoProvider Z_C017_A8    Message no. DBMAN305
Diagnosis - Errors occurred while reading a VirtualProvider outside the BI system. Check whether the previous error messages contain any information about the possible cause of this error.
It is possible that the error message cannot be displayed because the error message class does not exist in the BI system. If this is the case, only the name of the error class and the message number are displayed. View the error message text in the specified error class in the source system of the VirtualProvider.
Procedure - Since the error is not necessarily in the BI system, there is no specific procedure for resolving it. With VirtualProviders, problems often occur with the connection to the remote system; these can lead to system termination. If the code for the VirtualProvider is not from SAP, contact the relevant contact person to help resolve the issue.
If an SQL error is listed in the previous message, see the procedure for SQL errors.
    2. Reading from InfoProvider Z_C017_A8 is not permitted    Message no. RSPLS801
Diagnosis - Cannot read data from InfoProvider Z_C017_A8 here.
System Response - The system has cancelled the read operation.
Procedure - Use InfoProvider Z_P_C017 for the read operation here
I am suspecting this is why data from the planning aggregate is not showing up on my query, but the query doesn't return an error like listcube does.  It is OK to have planning aggregates in a multiprovider I am assuming because it allows it.
Any ideas why this error is appearing?
I already searched SDN and OSS, but nothing relevant appears.

    Hi Kenneth,
I found this notes which could be relevant for you:

  • How do I fix the web and wiki server - error reading settings?

    Hello,
I upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion and installed the OS X Server.  The Wiki pane has the error message "Error Reading Settings".  The Websites pane looks fine, but when I click on "View Server Website", I get the webpage that simply says "Server Error".  (I am wondering if these are interrelated, which is why I put them in the same discussion.)  I will note that the admin tools must have changed since trying to follow the discussions for previous versions of the Server leads to paths that are not present.  Any suggestions on what to try would be most appreciated.  Many thanks!

Hello.  Unfortunately, serveradmin is indeed one of those paths/tools that are no longer present in the new version of OS X Server.  Either that, or it is renamed to something new that I am not aware of.  However, doing a ps -A | grep -i postgres, I get the below.  I am not sure if this really means postgres is running or not.  Looking in system.log file, I am noticing a weird error (attached).  Any thoughts on this would be most appreciated.  Many thanks!

    Hi Olivier,
I know its been more than an year since the last time I have posted on this thread.
The problem still persists, I have made the necessary changes as you have suggested,
made the necessary changes to the logical port number.
The error has changed to no extended error message (SOAP_ESERVER).
    In sm21:
SOAP Runtime: SOAP Runtime exception: 112 occurred in method XP_READ_TAG of class CL_SOAP_XP at position 1
SOAP Runtime: Exception message: no extended error message (SOAP_ESERVER)
    dev_rfc:
    ERROR 01:01:48: SOAP Application CL_SOAP_APPLICATION_CLIENT
    IF_SOAP_APPLICATION_CS~EXECUTE_PROCESSING() A SOAP Runtime Core
Exception occurred in method XP_READ_TAG of class CL_SOAP_XP at
position id 1 with internal error id 112 and error text no
extended error message (SOAP_ESERVER) (fault location is 1 ).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have looked up on sdn, however was
    unable to find a solution.
I have opened another thread under Netweaver Administrator with the subject SOAP Exception,
I apologize if it was a mistake.
    Regards,
    Vishnu.
