We have also tried with the default password "sdm" but still receiving the same error.
We have tried to change the password of the "Administrator" using the ConfigTool (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/39/46e13ffb118f15e10000000a155106/frameset.htm). But it is not refecting the password changes.

hi Medha,
SDM is Software Deployment Manager. You would have defined the password of SDM during the installation. If you have forgotten that, NO PROBLEMS, just follow these steps to reset the password right away.
<i>Stop the SDM Server first using the SAP MMC
Open the command line.
Go to the SDM\program directory.
sdm jstartup "mode=standalone" "sdmhome=d:/usr/sap/j2e/jc00/SDM/program"
sdm changepassword "sdmhome=d:/usr/sap/j2e/jc00/SDM/program" "newpassword=admin"
sdm jstartup "mode=integrated" "sdmhome=d:/usr/sap/j2e/jc00/SDM/program"
NOTICE the "/" instead of the "\" in the sdmhome path
