My dmesg output looked exactly like yours and I was able to get a RAC up and running.
I do not believe this is a problem as it worked for me with identical dmesg output.
I think it means that the first node which was connected to the Firewire drive gets dis-connected when the second node tries to connect to it. That is why you get the "reconnect failed" message.
After it fails to reconnect, it logs out of the device and then logs in again. If your device did not support concurrent logins, you would see a different error message in your dmesg output ("login failed").
A simple way to check if the device is available to both nodes after booting is to run the fdisk -l command on both nodes. If you can see the device on both nodes in the fdisk output then it is available on both nodes.

    Hello, try this...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
    Reboot... any change?

I'm running Leopard and whatever the latest iTunes is. Any help appreciated.

I've got an Apple ID problem, too. All of the sudden in the midnight between August 31st and September 1st, the new apps I picked up on the App Store hung forever 'Waiting..' in my iPhone and never turned 'Loading'. When a substantial amont of time had passed, they reported, they 'could not connect to the App Store' and .. disappeared! Well what they told was not perfectly true because I could however connect to the store as I could browse and pick the apps, but the apps just didn't load. I tried to log into my account in iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop, too, and there got exactly the message in the topic title.
It appeared later my Apple ID did not completely fail because when I switched from my home WiFi to the phone 3G, everything worked just as nothing happened. Logically, this intimated my WiFi had flaws. Or, some place between my WiFi router and Apple servers did, to be precise. My router was not to blame because I did no changes to it whatsoever.
All right, it is Saturday today and my ISP is running in unmanned mode meaning no hotline, but I call them on Monday unless the problem disappears by itself. I just wonder what I say, because from non-i-world point of view everything works well, and I know for sure guys in the ISP support don't own any i-stuff, (because they are all android fanatics) . I'm not telling them my Apple ID to let them reproduce the problem on their home equipment, which means I come almost totally proofless.

  • Could anyone please help about print check??

    Dear expert,
We are testing the print process in  OEM sample company but it did not print out and show that "The print document could not be started?" I have no clue how to solve this problem. The printer can print anything except this check, we are new to SAP and will go live very soon. Please help if you could. Thanks a lot.

Mickey usually the standard for processing a check in not to use the check for payment area, thats more for manual checks or viewing a check already posted.
My suggestion is to go to the outgoing payments area and select what you are going to pay using this area, post this..
then go to the document printing under Banking, change the document type to checks for payment
select the checks you want to print and enter your starting ck number...
send this to the printer of choice, wait until all checks print and then confirm
    Hope this helps
ps also make sure you have the default layout for the check listed in Admin, set up, banks, house banks...scroll to the right and see the defaults to set up.

  • Could anyone post examples about sendingand receiving messages with SOAP

I am newbie, and want to learn SOAP. Anyone can tell me
where to find many examples about communication between client and server
based on SOAP. The example is in java code should be best.
    Many thanks in advance

    Java tutorial at http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/ea1/tutorial/doc/JAXM.ws.html#63873
should be a good starting point.
I have sample code, which creates SOAP header and SOAP elements. THis code gives an idea to create SOAP messages and to parse the SOAP response. Hope this helps.
I pass Application ID and password in SOAP header, used by the Webservices provider to verify my application. In the SOAP elments, I pass a string (called ticket) and ip address. Web services provider will verify the string and return the response along with some attributes related to the user (extended attributes).

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended Could not complete your request because of a program error.

When starting Photoshop CS6 I get this error message, Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended  Could not complete your request because of a program error (-- OK --).  This happens on the main screen immediately.  Once I click OK the program seems to be alright.  But some part of it, that I haven't discovered yet, may not function properly.
I am running Windows7 Professional Service Pack 1 64 bit with Intel i7-4770k CPU and 16 GIG Ram.
This problem just started recently, everything has been fine up till now.  I must have done something when trying to defragment the Registry or get rid of temp files.
I have uninstalled Photoshop CS6 and reinstalled it with no effect.  I have tried to run Photoshop CS6 32 bit in Safe Mode, but it will not run.  It hangs up on Reading Memory.
Is there any kind log file that would tell me what is causing this to occur?
Does anyone know what might cause this?
Thank you in advance for any helpful information.
    J. J. Patterson

Did you reset your Preferences and Photoshop tools.  Photoshop Preferences are not removed with an un-install and an Install does not install preferences.  Preferences are created  for a user id when a user ID start Photoshop  and there are no preferences for the user ID.

  • Service 'Apple Mobile Device' could not be installed

I have been running iTunes for a long time but when I try to install version 10.5.3 or 10.6, I get the following error.
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' could not be installed.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services.
I have never gotten this before trying to install a newer version.
I am running on Windows 7 with an administrator password.  I tried uninstalling and then installing and get the same error.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

    b noir,
Thanks for the reply.  I had seen this possible solution in another thread this morning, but when I looked at that  it already said disabled.  I restarted the computer and that didn't make any difference.  I still got the same error.
I finally was able to install however.  First I had to uninstall all Apple products including Bonjour, Apple Software Update, iTunes, Apple Application Support, and Apple Mobile Device Support.  I then re-installed 10.5.3.3 and all seems to be good.
I'll not try to upgrade to 10.6 again.  That was really a hassle.
    Thanks,
    Bill

  • Can anyone post screen caps of a mini drive formatted to a Mac for me?

"B Noir" and I recently fixed my iPod mini by deleting excess files, which we think were created when (many moons ago) I plugged the mini into a mac at school. My Windows-formatted mini was showing some files that bore an uncanny resemblence to a mac's file system. So could anyone post screencap pictures of the Ipod drive, iPod_Control (which is a hidden folder) and iPod_Control/Music?

I'd like to promise you that everything will be fine if you just get the monitor going - but it's hard to know what the hardware damage might be. It might be the monitor, or the damage might be greater.
Your best solution would be visit your local Apple Store and let them know what your situation is. They have access to diagnostics you don't, and they might be able to the best way to save your data and keep you computing. It's still not covered, but they can tell you what your current options are.
Um, you might consider investing in a backup drive.
And there other repair options, too. Powerbook Medic http://www.powerbookmedic.com/xcart1/pages.php?pageid=67 offers reliable repairs, and quotes prices well under Apple's.

  • Disk utility reports "Device could not be opened" - error when trying to format a new drive in a Mac Pro 1,1

    MacPro 1,1 Quadcore 3 GHz (2006 "Woodcrest")
    32 GB RAM
    ATI Radeon HD 5770
    OS X 10.7.5 Lion
I have encountered the following behavior when trying to format a new drive with disk utility. This description has also been send via the Mac Pro feedback as a bug report to Apple.
On searching the web and forums with this particular error message and behaviour I could not find any usful results. So maybe the following description may be helpful for some users.
    Best regards.
    1. Drive Bay 1 contains the original 250 GB Startupdisk. It works without errors.
    2. Drive Bays 3 and 4 contain each a WD Caviar Black 2 TB SATA 3 HDD. They work without errors.
    3. I have purchased a third WD Caviar Black 2 TB HDD.
    4. In Drive Bay 2 there has been a Seagate 750 GB HDD, which worked in conjunction with all the other drives without error.
    5. I exchanged the Seagate HDD in Drive Bay 2 with the new WD Caviar Black 2 TB HDD.
    6. On starting the system, it will report to initialize the new drive.
    7. On trying to initialize the new drive with disk utility it reports the error [translated from German] "Erasing of the volume has failed. The device could not be opened."
    8. I thought that the drive is faulty. Thus I created an RMA-Case at WD. They exchanged the drive without problems.
    9. On getting the exchanged WD Caviar Black 2 TB drive I put it in Drive Bay 2 as before.
    10. On trying to erase and format the exchange drive I got the same error message "Drive could not be opened."
10.1 On selecting the physical drive in the devices list, disk utility reports all information in the bottom area of its window as usual, e. g. hard disk description, connection bus, type and place, capacity, write status, SMART-status, partition scheme.
10.1 On leaving that drive selected in the devices list and clicking the info-button, disk utility will also report additional information as usual, e. g. Name, Type, partition scheme, media-identification, media name, media type, device tree, … , number of relocated sectors, etc.. All this information appears to be valid, as can be compared to the other devices information inside the other Drive Bays. Also the disk numbering scheme appears to be standard - 4 HDDs give the numbering disk0, disk1, disk2, disk3.
10.2 From that information I conclude that the SATA-bus and connectors electrically work properly, the drive has spun up and can be accessed by the system normally.
    11. I powered down the computer, took out the HDDs from Drive Bays 3 and 4 and put the caddy with the new exchange drive in Drive Bay 4 [Maybe, I could have also just left it alone in Drive Bay 2, or 3].
    12. After powering on the system, disk utility will quick format the exchange drive without any error message. Also, when erasing again by selecting the option to write zeros to the drive, disk utility will finish without error.
    13. After disk utility finished formatting, I put back the original drives into Drive Bay 3 and 4 and put the now newly formatted drive back into Drive Bay 2.
    14. After switching on the computer the system start and login proceeds without any error message. All drives appear as expected on the desktop.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

Sometimes you have to reset the SMC two or three times for it to work, don't know why. I've seen that error message before and 100% of the time it was fixed with an SMC reset. I suppose it's possible that your keyboard or mouse IS drawing too much power, do you have access to another you could try?

I can no longer charge my iPhone5 through either of my macbook pros. I get the error message that a USB device is using too much power. Can anyone help?

I reconnected the original powered hub that I thought probably caused the problem and this time it shut down the whole computer. When I rebooted everything now works perfectly. The system reset. I tried another powered hub and it didn't have the same effect so the old one is heading for the bin and with fingers crossed all systems are now working perfectly. Trying to reset PRAM or reset the SMC didn't work but causing the same power issue did. Thanks for your input though. It did get me to think what was the original cause.

Me too. And if someone comes back on here with the same solution of "uninstall and re-install", please provide further advice after you have done that 3 times and the program still has the same problem in addition to the "failure to load the C runtime library" R6034 issue. I have removed itunes 3 times however I do not have permission to remove the program files/apple file and the uninstall doesn't remove it.
