Error restarting oid on infra for 10g AS

Hi,
I was restarting the infra and midtier on my Oracle 10g AS.
For starting the oid, i typed :
oidctl server=oidldapd configset=1 instance=1 startAfter waiting for some time, I typed
dcmctl start -cl
but this line gives me a javax.Naming.CCommunicationException.
I started the enterprise manager and tried doing it from the console but to no avail.
Any ideas?
Please help.

Hi,
OAS 10.1.2.3.0 is the lastest Patch set available. If you are at 10.1.2.3.0 you must apply lastest Critical Patch Update (CPU July-2009).

  • Ceating OID in 9i for 10g AS

We currently have 9iR2 on a WEindows 2K platform. I have tried to install 9iAS and I gather that it is a buggy product as I dould not get the webcache to install or the server cache, and the http server refused to start. Is there likely to be a problem if we install 10gAS on a middle tier, connecting to a 9iR2 database server? Starting to look at the install, it appears to ask for the connection to OID, which is not currently installed on the database server. Is there likely to be any problems we will encounter installing the OID on a production 9iR2 database, prior to installing 10gAS?
    Thanks.

You're welcome. It's is always a pleasure to help people, especially when they didn't follow the right way.
Guy, you didn't read as well what I explained you in your other thread :
    Database upgradation to 9i rel2
I'll explain once more : go to the target version online documentation (I pointed the general docs link in your ither thread, please have a look there), and read the Upgrade Guide, especially the Upgrade Path chapter. What's wrong in it ? You'll save time by following the suggestion and read the pointed doc, instead of waiting for the exact response given by other people.
    Nicolas.

OK, I did this once and did not follow the oracle docs
If you saved your targets.xml before you started you might save it by renaming it back.
(Double check to make sure you did not miss a rename)
Otherwise, all I have to offer is my rough notes:
    1. Backup the file $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml.
    [oracle@ias02 emd]$ pwd
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/sysman/emd
    cp targets.xml targets.xmlbackup
    2. Modify the file targets.xml by changing all the occurrences of the wrong reports server name by the correct one.
    i.e. Replace rep_test_midtier with rep_new (4 places - changes)
Copy the conf file as follows: ( this will named different from system to system )
    cp /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/conf/rep_pia_oracleas.conf /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/conf/rep_fam.conf
    run this script:
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/addNewServerTarget.sh rep_fam          (change rep_fam to new report server name)
    3.Update the changed configuration .
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct opmn -v -d
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/dcm/bin/dcmctl resyncinstance -v -d
    4. Restart the Application Server Control Console
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/emctl stop iasconsole
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/emctl start iasconsole
    In the file:
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/config/reportsConfig.properties
Change the Reports_Server_Name setting from rep_test_midtier to rep_fam (change rep_fam to new report server name)
Best Wishes (I was able to save mime)
The other option is to reinstall

  • Error in OCS provisioning webconsole for migrated LDIF user --- [ESDS error

I migrated an LDAP user via LDIF file (source objectclass is inetOrgPerson) through OCS directory provisioning web console. It imported successfully with 0 errors and 0 warnings.
However, When I view this user via the same console.. I get the following error in the provisioning status for email.
[ESDS error code - 10004] Invalid Email Id
I made sure that email address in the ldif file is ok and it show properly in the console after import.
    Any clues please...
    Many many thanks in advance.
    MAAS

I've been making further experiments with creating user accounts in OID (OCS 10g) with the main aim of testing possibilities of bulk import of OID user accouns from OCS 9.0.4 to the OCS 10g testing environment on another machine via LDIF format.
Another error that I keep getting after re-creating the user account in OID is:
Some Rows in the tables are disabled.
Mail - [ESDS error code - 10055] Email id already in use as an email user
I can't keep this error from appearing even though I tried to apply the workaround recommended for the Bug 4469130 - UNABLE TO PROVISION TO EMAIL, AFTER
    RECREATING A USER, which is:
    1) remove the user information from the storage database:
    % oesucr filename -clean_user_mailstore_data
The file specified in filename is a text file that contains user IDs of deleted Oracle Mail users, as follows:
    [email protected],[email protected],[email protected],...
2.) recreate the user in the OiD and provision the services.
I know this bug and the workaround is related to the other error (Mail - [ESDS error code - 10004] Invalid Email Id) but I haven't been able to find any clues to "ESDS error code - 10055" and as a result I can't re-provision Mail component for any user that has been re-created (e.g. created, deleted, created again).
The problem is probably related to the fact that when I ran the oesucr command for the second (third, forth...) time I got this:
    [oracle@merkur ~]$ oesucr oi.mail -clean_user_mailstore_data
users delete from mailstore list size=5
user to delete mailstore [email protected]
[email protected] has not been deleted. Cannot remove mail store data
user to delete mailstore [email protected]
[email protected] has not been deleted. Cannot remove mail store data
user to delete mailstore [email protected]
[email protected] has not been deleted. Cannot remove mail store data
user to delete mailstore [email protected]
[email protected] has not been deleted. Cannot remove mail store data
user to delete mailstore [email protected]
[email protected] has not been deleted. Cannot remove mail store data
The "oesucr filename -clean_user_mailstore_data" seems to work properly only when issued for the first time.
    Any help highly appreciated. Thanks

  • DAG - Backup failing on 1 DB only with error - The Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS Writer instance ID failed with error code 80070020 when preparing for a backup of database 'DB012'

    Hi Board,
i´ve search across the board, technet and symantec sites but did not found a hint about my problem.
    we drive a 2 node DAG (Location1-Ex1-mb1
    Location2-exc1-mb1), on SP2 RU4 patchlevel with 40 Databases.
Since some time the backup of one - and only one DB - is failing with these events, logged on the Mailboxserver on which the passive DB is hosted.

The backup Application - Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 – states, this error
Snapshot provider error (0xE000FED1): A failure occurred querying the Writer status.
Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.
Writer Name: Exchange Server, Writer ID: {76FE1AC4-15F7-4BCD-987E-8E1ACB462FB7}, Last error: The VSS Writer failed, but the operation can be retried (0x800423f3), State: Stable (1).
    Symatec suggests within http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH184095
to restart the MS Exchange Replication Service – BUT the mentioned eventID
8229 isn´t present on any of the both Mailboxservers.
The affected Database is active on Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server and in an overall healthy state. I found during my research, that below Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server, there are not removed shadow copies present!
This confuses me, since all Backups are normally taken from the passive copy of a Database.
So my questions to the board are:
    * Does anyone is facing similar issues?
    * Can someone explain why snapshots are present on the Mailboxserver hosting the Active Database, whilst the errors are logged on the passive one?
    -          * Does someone know the conditions, why shadows copies remain and
aren´t removed in a proper manner?
What can cause the circumstance, that only 1 DB is facing such issues?
    Any suggestion is welcome!
    BR
    Markus

    Hi Lenora,
I´ve encreases VSS / Exchange Backup Log levels to expert, before starting
those things i´ve all tried now:
    - Backup from passive DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
    - Backup from active DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
    - Backup from passive DB without GRT enabled (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
    - Backup from active DB without GRT enabled(forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
    All those attempts failed.
But brought some more details - the backup against the active DB states, that there is still a backup in progress and therefore this backup is cancelled by VSS.
The Solution was, that i´ve needed to restart the Exchange Replication Service on the Mailbox Server hosting the passive DB.
Backups are working again on all DBs!
    THX for your replys.
    Best regards
    Markus

  • Error in gettnig logon data for Adapter Engine

    Hi,
We have Http > XI > RFC Scenario. We are getting 401 unauthorized error in "CALL ADAPTER" section. From the trace its clear that the logon data for the adapter engine (there is no value for USER in trace) is not getting poulated. We fixed this issue last evening....i think by doing full cache refresh, but this problem propped up again today. Yesterday when this issue was fixed the USER has "PIISUSER" in the trace.
We haven't changed any config settings since yesterday so all the passwords and other config info is same. Not sure what's causing this issue. Below is the trace. Any help will be highly appreciated.

  • 10.8.2 update: can't install "error occurred while evaluating Javascript for the package"

    Greetings All-
I'm trying to update from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 on my Macbook Air. When I downloaded the .dmg from Apple and ran it, I got the following error:
"OS X Update Can't be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package."
So far, I've done the following, all to no avail:
    (1) Updated Java to v7 per Java's website, no change
    (2) Downloaded the 10.8.2 combo update, no change
    (3) Found Apple's OS X Java update (which is still at v6)- get an error at install that "the contents of the disk can't be changed"
    (4) Restarted at each step
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Mac OS X 10.6.8, receiving error message "Failed to check for updates. The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted." How to fix?

When I try to update my software, I'm receiving the error message "Failed to check for updates. The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted."
I'm using Safari 4.0.3. Yes, I know this is an old version of Safari - I can't update it, or any other software on my MacBook. Should I just wait for the Lion OS, or is there any kind of fix a non-technical Mac user like me can attempt without screwing up her laptop?
I've tried clearing my cache and resetting Safari already - doesn't help. I've also tried to update after disabling my (Norton) antivirus software, thinking that might be interfering. None of these help.
I don't know if it's a related problem, but also I can't download .pdf files from the internet, although I used to be able to.

You should use the NortonAV uninstaller to uninstall it. Disabling the dreadful thing in the past hasn't always been sufficient for it to cease creating system havoc. The Mac NortonAV version has a long and well-earned reputation for doing truly seriously nasty things to OS X. Shame on Comcast for inflicting NortonAV on its Mac customers. It's not a matter of if NortonAV will mess up OS X but when and how badly. I can't help but wondering if some setting in your Norton AV has decided that NortonAV, rather than you, will be making executive decisions about what you are allowed to install on your computer and is keeping that fact a secret.
After you are done uninstalling Norton use the finder to search for any Norton files that the uninstaller might have missed. Add the option to search for invisible files.
After you have removed all the Norton bits and pieces restart in safe mode by holding down the shift key right after the startup chime. Keep holding down the shift key until you see the Apple logo and spinning gear. Safe mode does some maintenance tasks which means a much longer than normal startup time. Use Disk Utility to repair permission
If your Mac works normally in safe mode restart. If things still aren't fixed you might want to give another shot at reinstalling Snow Leopard from the install DVD and applying the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo before taking your Mac to the Apple Store.
If you feel the need to run AV software on your Mac use ClamXav in manual mode. It's donationware and doesn't seem to cause the litany of weird problems that are associated with other AV software.

How to perform a clean boot
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
If the issue doesn’t appear in clean boot mod, you can determine which one can be the cause by using dichotomy in MSconfig. Checking on half of Non-Microsoft service and restart, determining which half of the services cause the issue and repeating to check
half of the problematic half services.
Otherwise, please test the issue in Safe mode and let me know the results, then provide the screenshot of the error.

  • System Error- Restart Not Possible

    Hi All,
    I have Synchronous scenario.
I am trying to handle system error in BPM. so if system error comes i m cancelling process.
So in sxmb_moni, my scenario is successful as it is not getting stuck into queue.
But it is giving me error as "System Error - restart not possible" .
But I need to resend / restart this message again.
So can u please guide me for same
    Regards,
    Manisha

When your WS id down you are handling the esception in your BPM perfectly....what more you can do is in the exception branch throw an alert to the support team from SAP saying that the processing for a particluar IDOC failed as there was an error while connecting to the end system......in this case you can ask them to restart this particular process once the WS is up....
One option wil also be to increase the default retry attempts of AE while connecting to the end system....affects performance....maximum retry attempts is 10 (if i am not wrong).....so if your WS comes up during this time you can send the message......
We have a similar case wherein same logic has been applied in BPM...which asks the support team to restart the process if the process fails due to a communication error with the end system.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Problem setting up DSN for 10g ODBC driver

    Hello,
I am simply trying to install an ODBC driver for 10g. To accomplish this, I first downloaded the odbc driver for 10g 10.2.0.2.0. The Readme notes said that I need to install the odbc driver using the Oracle Universal Installer. So I got a copy of just the OUI from our DBA. I installed the OUI 10.2. Using the installer, I installed the 10.2.0.2.0 odbc driver. The Readme notes said to look for the file "products.jar", which was not available, but "products.xml" was, so I used "products.xml", and the driver installed successfully.
The next step was to set up an ODBC DSN for this driver. When I attempted to do this, the Microsoft ODBC Administrator threw this message: The setup routines for the Oracle in DEFAULT_HOME ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 127, followed by Could not load the setup of translator library.
Other threads suggested that I copy the DLLs mfc71.dll, msvcrt.dll, and msvcr71.dll from my C:\Windows\System32 directory to the directory where I installed the odbc driver (C:\orant\BIN) and to ensure that this directory path was defined under the PATH environmental variable. I followed all these instructions but to no avail - I am still having the same problem. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks in advance!!

    Hi,
    >>could not be loaded due to system error code 127
Did you try install it on other machine ? Maybe this current machine has a DLL versions problems ...
    Cheers
