Error RTC-5346 in registering target location in OWB Deployment manager.

Hello!
Dear experts, I've got DB 10GR2 and I downloaded OWB 10.1. I've installed OWB successfully and began to look through the samples. And during my trying to register a target location (when I looked through the sample "Deploying targets") Ive got an error : RTC-5346 :the oracle database location 10.1 is not equal to target version 10.2. As I mentioned before, my DBs version is 10.2 and OWBs version is 10.1. May be it is the matter?
So, what would you suggest me in such a situation? Do I have to fulfill any patches or something like that?

your right. Apparently, the information I got only applied to OWB 10g versions 10.1.0.2.0 and 10.1.0.3.0 which are not certified against an DB 10g R2, because of BUG 4537766...
For 10.1.0.4.0 there is indeed no problem.

As mentioned above, by default port 8083 is used only by the management cockpit. Try using the HTTP port which by default is 8080.
The ports are configured in this file.
C:\SAP\MobilePlatform3\Server\config_master\org.eclipse.gemini.web.tomcat\default-server.xml
If the registration fails one quick test to verify basic connectivity to the SMP 3.0 server from the device or emulator is to open the following URL from a browser on the device or emulator.
http://SMP_Server_IP_Address:8080/sapui5/
If the above URL opens correctly in a browser on the machine that the SMP server is running on but not from the browser on a mobile device or emulator there is likely something such as a firewall preventing communication over port 8080.

How to deploy mapping in TARGET SCHEMA in OWB

i have created one staging area module and and enterpise model module in OWB to deploy my mappings. to deploy the staging area and enterpisre model mapping i have one TARGET SCHEMA.
now when i want to deploy my enterpise model mapping to the target schema(where i have deployed staging area mapping) OWB is showing the error
ORA-06550: line 127, column 9:
PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
IS IT NOT POSSIBLE TO DEPLOY STAGING AND WAREHOUSE TABLES TO SAME SCHEMA ?

Good morning Kunal,
Naren is right, no problem deploying the content of different modules in the same schema.
In case you are using OWB 9.0.4 or more recent, have you defined module locations and connectors properly and have you registered the locations in the Deployment Manager?

RTC-5190: There is no location associated with the current module ...

First to know, my experience with OWB is very limited.
I have a OWB version 10 repository and I have to import a *.mdl file (using ./owbclient.sh). The import went fine and it consists in a Databases->Oracle module with some mappings, tables sequences etc.
Now I want to Deploy some objects but I receive a error:
"RTC-5190: There is no location associated with the current module, operation abandoned."
I've created a location and I've edited the imported module to associate it with the location (right click on the module->Open Editor) in Metadata Location and Data Location tabs, but it still throws the error when I try to deploy. Do you have any idea what can I do more?

Hello,
The .mdl file was generated by somebody else and I can't request another export. And also I didn't found any "import locations" check.
Anyway, at import I've seen a warning message about a location that it can't find. So I've renamed the location to be the same with the one that can't be found. This way the initial error is not thrown. But in Control Center Manager in Job Summary there is a java error about the results being exhausted. God for me that I had the idea to restart the OWB client and now it works fine.
OWB is such a bad product!

RPE-01011 target location incompatible / repository and target are same 11g

I got systematically error RPE-01011 signaling my target location is incompatible. My repository and my target are the same instance and i didn't change anything in the settings. The instance is an 11g database. I don't understand what the problem is. All scripts are execting correctly when i install then manually.

I am having the same problem trying to deploy objects created as per Oracle by Example: Oracle Warehouse Builder 11g. The database version is 11g Release 11.1.0.6.0 and all locations have 11.1 version. This is the second time I am running this tutorial, this time I modified the setup scripts to replace 10.2 by 11.1 but after rerunning all previous tutorials I got the same error.

Weird CS4 error when saving eps files on a Mac: "...specified files already exist in the target location"

All 3 workstations in our studio are experiencing weird file behavior when re-saving eps files from Illustrator.
Basically Illustrator creates a new file in addition to the original and adds a "-01.eps" onto the file name. If you re-save your original, Illustrator brings up a dialogue box that states:
Some of the specified files already exist in the target location. The files marked below will be replaced:
filename.eps
filename-01.eps
We've been deleting the "-01.eps" files each time but it's becoming tedious. The behaviour occurs when re-saving an eps file to a server or the desktop.
All machines are new Quad-core MacPros running:
- Leopard 10.5.8
- Illustrator CS4 14.0.0
We've checked for Illustrator updates from within Illustrator but we seem to be running the latest version.
Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?
Any help or pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.
The error occurs when we save the document but if we choose save as, "Use Artboards" seems to be unchecked so not sure if this issue is related or not. Will re-save the document using save as then see if the issue persists.
Why do we still use eps?
Basically because we've found it to be much more compatible. Our entire logo library is in eps format (18 years worth) partly because it was previously the only format to use and partly because it allows account managers to send logos to clients, printers, TV stations etc and not involve the studio (saving out an eps version).
Although "Create PDF compatible file" is a good idea, we've encountered costly issues with colours and images - especially if the recipient is using old CS software, non-Adobe software or is using some kind of hardware RIP. We now just go with what we know works.
But I do find saving eps versions of everything to be a bit painful. In fact, I've always found Illustrator in general to be a bit painful when compared with Photoshop or AfterEffects. Illustrator seems like it's been developed by a different company some times!

"Not enough memory in target location" error in de...

When I try to download and "save to device" any files from any website of any size, I am receiving the "Not enough memory in target location" error. It's very frustrating . To reproduce I only need to do a "long tap" on the google image on the default google page and select "save image as" and select any location (eg. documents, root (MyDocs), create new folder) and I get the error. Once the error is displayed, most of the time I can't get rid of it and need to do an "End current task" to close the browser.
I have checked the output of a "df -h" and there is PLENTY of space on all volumes, including rootfs (95.1M Free) and /dev/mmcblk0p1 (25.9G Free!).
I've tried flushing the '/home/user/.mozilla/microb' directory and deleting the '/home/user/.browser' file also.
I can transfer files from my PC connected in Mass Storage mode with no problem, I can also create directories and files from X-Term also with no problem.
The only information I can find on this error is related to rootfs being out of space when trying to install an app or update...but this is not my problem.
I have a feeling it could be a permissions issue, anyone have any suggestions?

Hi cpitchford. I have a similar problem. I can't save a bookmarks in the MicroB explorer. The system says "Not enough memory". I read your post and send you the screenshot for the xterm. Thank you for your time. Let me know if you need more informartion about the issue

OWB Error RTC-5273

Hello
I'm new in OWB and when I try to deploy the first mapping I've tried to do appears this error:
RTC-5273: Location (the name of my location) is registered as a non-target location and so cannot be deployed to. Please register it as a target location or select a different location. The current deployment operation will be aborted.
When I click ok on that window, the deployment stops and it doesn't appear no window to change the location or something similar so I don't know where should I go to change the location.
I've made some new locations but I don't see where to specify that I want that this location to be a target location.
Can someone help me? Thanks a lot.

Oh, I didn't know that because when I made a location I think I didn't create a new user. So how or where can I see that location user?
I've gone to Locations Navigator/Locations/Databases/Oracle/ where "My_Location" is, that is,by the way, the only location I have apart from OBW_REPOSITORY_LOCATION, and in "My location" the user name is the same name from the user that is registered on Globlas Navigator/Security/Users.
So I'm sure I'm not looking in the right place or maybe I've missed to do something. So I don't know where to look for. Thnaks

Target location

Hi Every One:
i did map bw external as a source n table as a target. when i deploy after location registration. it give this error " Can not Deploy: target location is owned by different run time plat form." Is there any who can help me. Me a student n doing final year project.
i did not make process flow when i deploy. is it necessry there must be a process flow before deploment. but when i did the same thing with flat file it worked perfectly n i did not make process flow.

i made a prcess flow and my target schema is owbtrg1 that i created under run time assistant. run time owner is owbuser n its user is owbuser1. which user should i use for its location registration. i register the locations of target useing owbtrg1 and it work perfectly. but i register it through this schema and deploy it but it give the following error. is there some body who can help me?.

Registering Oracle Location

Hi,
I need to connect to table/view in, say schema A. I don't have direct access to A.
But I have Login/Password for another schema, say B. Schema B has read (select) grant from A ( I can access the data through Toad).
I have registered the Oracle location to A. But I am getting the following error when
I am trying to deploy the mapping.
ORA-06550: line 17, column 24:
PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
How do I register the location, to get the access to table/view in B through A?

I have no problem for the access by set the source schema and dblink in mapping's configuration. My situation is exactly as same as yours. Let me explain in detail.
Firat of all, my data source is also in a different database, even in differenet machine from the DW machine. So for sure, we have to access the data source by database link. Let's call the data source as Database S.
Second, my data sources cross four schemas in Database S. I don't have direct access to all those four schemas, let's call them as Schema A, B, C, and D. Instead, Schema E is created in Database S, which is granted SELECT privilleges on all the talbles in A, B, C and D.
Third, on your target DB, create the database link, e.g. named as DBLNK_DW_ACCESS, by using Schema E, point to Database S.
Now, what's done in my OWB client
1. I have 4 source modules created corresponding to A, B, C and D. All of them are registered as Schema Name, E.
2. In my mapping, the source table is dragged from the source module.
3. In the configuration, for the source table only, set the actual schema name and dblink. For example, Schema A, DBLNK_DW_ACCESS.
Everything is fine for my EDW running, which has be on Client side for more than one year.
If you still have some problem. Check the Generated Scripts by doing this:
In Deployment Manager, right click your mapping, set the action as Create and then do the deployment. But not really do the deployment, instead just save the generated script when the deploy windoe popup. Then cancle the deployment and Reset the action.
Now, take a look your saved script. Focus on the SELECT statement in the Cursor. The FROM clause should look like : SchemaName.TableName@DblnkNmame. For example: A.TableName@DBLNK_DW_ACCESS.
If not, the access doesn't work for you. I had this problem on one of my server and cann't figure why. But the problems gone when I unregister the location in Audit Browser and do the register again.

Implementing Dynamic Target Locations

I want to change the Target Location dynamically as it moves through the ETL process.
My Directory structure is
\in - new flat files are pushed into this directory for processing
\staging new flat files are picked and moved to this directory for processing
\staged the processed files are moved to this directory
\error errored files moved to this directory for further investigation
The moment the files are pushed into the \in directory, the ETL/OWF process will be called.
The ETL process will move the files into \staging directory and OWB mappings are called to do the staging process.
Once the staging process is done, the files are moved to \staged directory.
If there are errors in the files
will be moved to /error directory.
Is this possible to accomplish this using OWB/OWF ?
I am using OWB 9.2.0.2.8 and OWF 2.6.1.5.2.

Getting warning when trying to register a location.

Shema test_stg cannot be used by a target location test_stg_loc because it is already used as a target by owb_owner.ws_owbdev .
Do you wish to register test_stg_loc as source only location.?

Hi,
the schema is already registered at another control center (belonging to another workspace).
You cannot deploy from two different repositories into the same target schema.
Unregister the location first from the old control center.

Target location vs control center

Hi,
We installed OWB10gR2. In R2 we have control Center Manager to deploy the objects. We can create different control centers in connection explorer. In project explorer configuration we can set which control center is deafult one. Up to that we did. Here my problem is we have one target location. We want to register this target location with different control centers. How it is possible? I mean same location should be available in different schemas. Is it possibles? What is I know is once we register one location with one schema we can't register with another schema right? Or is it possible in R2? Please can you clarify my doubt.

You question is basically - is it possible to register one single location to more than one control centers ?
I had tried this earlier, but could not succeed as the schema name and password fields are grayed out once the location is registered with a control center.
Best possible way is ( the thing we do ) , create mulitple locations for deploying the same code to multiple locations. Configure the module to the location under the Project Configuration, and thats it.
