Error running quick time

Hello,
I'm currently enrolled in the Becker review course and I have to have qt installed to view the lecture cd's. I have a BFG 256 mb 7950 gt oc. And when I try to view the lectures I get this error message:
Access violation at address 66B48578 in module "QuickTime.qts". Write of address 0247E260
I even tried installing an earlier version of qt and still no solution. Same error message.
Can someone please help me fix this problem. I have no idea why this is happening but I would like to fix this problem quickly b/c I need to keep up w/ the courses.
Thanks,
zeus.

According to Becker's support site. "QT 7.1.3 does not play Flash tracks by default anymore, which causes an error when lectures are played in our CD-ROM course." So you may want to go to QT Settings>Advanced> and put a check in the box, Enable playback of Adobe Flash tracks, listed under Media Types.

On my PC, I cannot run itunes, I keep getting this error message" Quick Time failed to initialized (error02096) Quick time is required to run please unistall itunes then install itunes again, I have done this three times and I keep getting the same error message. I have had itunes for years, but up until 2 months ago the quick time will not initialize to run it.

Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and delete the iTunes installer. Then try installing iTunes again

  • Cannot run quick time.

When starting quick time I get the following error.  quick time unavailable error #2096.  When trying to remove quick time it gets fatal error during installation.

What kind of videos?  Flash videos like on youtube?  Then you need to install Adobe Flash player.  Other kind of videos?  Maybe you should install Perian.  And perhaps you would have better luck using another video player like VLC.

Something is blocking the communication of the auxilairy services (quicktimeserver) with AE. Check your firewall and virus scanner and make them behave. also make sure to run with sufficient user privileges.

  • Error:-3 Quick Time

Please can somebody help me. I have just got an ipod nano for xams and have just tried to install the software (ipod+itunes). itunes was working perfectly before and now each time i try and access it I get the message: 'Quicktime 6.5.2 is installed, itunes requires Quicktime version 7.0.3 or later'. I have just tried to upgrade itunes and right at the end of the upgrade it comes up with a message for Quick time saying 'error:-3'. Does anybosy have a clue what this means?

You'll have better luck getting help if you post in the QuickTime for Windows or the iTunes for Windows areas. Good luck.

  • When I click on itunes, I get error saying Quick time failed to initialize, no matter how many times I uninstall and start over.  What am I doing wrong?

My itunes account wouldn't open, so I had to uninstall and re-install.  I've done this 3 times with an error popping up everytime that "Quick time failed to initialize".  The message then suggests I uninstall itunes and reinstall.  If I click on Quicktime, independently, it opens right up with no problem.  What can I do?

  • Itunes 6 will not run, Quick time 7 is working

I have searched and tired everything, but my itunes 6 will not start. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both itunes and quick time. I have also downloaded the start alone quick time. Nothing is working. How can I make my itunes start??? help me please!

    hi Texas!
but my itunes 6 will not start.
are you getting an error message when you try to launch itunes? if so, what does it say?
if you're getting no error message whatsoever when you try to launch itunes (it just sits there doing nothing), please make the following observations for us.
reboot the PC. open your Task Manager to the Processes Tab. now try to launch itunes.
does an itunes.exe process appear? if so, does it persist in Task Manager or disappear after a few seconds?

  • Tunes7 error and Quick time Buffer overrun

itunes doesn't want to launch. In the beginning it stopped after accepting the license and then closed down with this error: iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I was reading about similar problem and somebody advised there to try to open Quick Time P. That person had no problem to lunch Quick Time but I do have it. When I try to do it, the program closes down with the message: Buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the programs’ internal state…maybe it’s because I’m international but I have no idea what does it mean.

that sounds like a broken QuickTime to me. that would cause the itunes launch message that you're getting.
first head into your Add/Remove Programs, and try to uninstall your existing QuickTime.
if Add/Remove won't let you remove QuickTime, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
    7. Restart your computer.
once we've got all the existing QuickTime scraped away, we'll try to slip a fresh quicktime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
go into Add/Remove, select itunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly this time?

  • Quick Time will not run on Windows XP PC

When I try starting Quick Time nothing happens. I have tried opening Quick Time information, and after a short time I get the error message "Error when opening Shell32.dll, control_RunDLL C:\Programs\Quick Time\QTSystem\QuickTime.cpl"
I have tried uninstalling Quick Time but always got an error, until I removed all files on C:\Programs\Quick Time and the Quick Time files on the System32 folder, like it was suggested on this Forum.
I then re-installed Quick Time, but I am still getting the same error, and Quick Time wont run.
Are there any other files I should have deleted before reinstalling Quick Time?
    Kind regards
    Willi Sletten

When trying to uninstall from Start/Quick Time/Uninstall Quick Time the uninstall would start propperly but then end up in a dialogue box saying that a serious problem had stopped the uninstall.
When uninstalling from the control panel, I dont think there was an error message, but Quick Time simply wouldnt disappear.
