Error running startup framework
Hi,
We are running EP 6 Sp2 p4 hf 8 on hp-ux 11.11 operating system, and
We installed startup framework according to document "Installing and
Configuring the 6.40 Startup Framework to Use with SAP J2EE Engine 6.20
(Last update: 23.09.2004)", we installed patch PHCO_30544 for the os.
We used the latest version of SCSCLIENTEP.SAR.
The problem is that for a heap size more than 1G the startup framework
doesn't work.
The following error is in the file ../os_libs/work/dev_server:
[Thr 4] *** ERROR => JHVM_LoadJavaVM: Cannot create Java VM (rc=-1)
[jhvmxx_mt.c 480]
[Thr 4] *** ERROR => Cannot load Java VM (client) (rc=-1)
[jlnchxxi_mt. 590]
[Thr 4] SigISetIgnoreAction : SIG_IGN for signal 18
[Thr 4] JLaunchCloseProgram: good bye (exitcode=-1)
Best regards,
Bogdan<b></b>
I doubt it is the heap size itself. Have you checked all your java startup params (flags). Having an improper flag, such as -XXNewSize=192 (missing a ":" between XX and NewSize) will give you such an error.

Startup Framework for EP6 SP2 - Windows 2003 - registry key error
Hi,
I've installed the Startup Framework and it all works from the MMC but if I try to start the SAP<SID>_00 NT Service, the portal server/dispatcher/state controller do not start up and I get the following message in the Event Viewer:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( SAPCCD_00 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Cannot open Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SAP\CCD\Environment (Error 2 ENOENT*: No such file or directory OR: The system cannot find the file specified. ) [ntservmgr.cpp 264].
The registry key it refers to doesn't exist. I followed the pdf guide & have noticed that it says Windows 2000/XP - I'm trying to install it on Windows 2003, could this be the problem and is there a workaround?
It's a problem because when the server gets restarted, the portal doesn't come up.
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards,
JaneOK, manually added registry key - which got rid of registry error message but still wasn't starting portal.
Then set Autostart=1 in start_<##>.pfl - now works.
Thanks,
Jane -

How to determine 640/J2EE Startup Framework Binary Patch Level?
Hi All,
We are running BI ABAP with Java Add-in on WAS 640/SUSE/Oracle.
In the ABAP world, there are many options for determining the current kernel patch level. Disp+work -v, SYSTEM->STATUS, etc..
How do I determine the patch level of the J2EE startup framework (ie: jlaunch, jcontrol, etc..)? If I run these commands with '-version', I get a patch level of 0. From System Information, the Cluster Kernel Version is 6.40 PatchLevel 105424.313.
What I am trying to determine is if I have the binaries that map to the latest applied SP (18). Do I need to download J2EERTOS18.SAR and apply the bits or has that already been done? Or is the current patch level for the bits fro the J2EERTOS14.SAR file? Etc...
Any tips/suggestions?
Thanks much,
GregHi
You can check the patch number like this;
D:\usr\sap\FT0\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386>jlaunch -version

While regarding which file(s) to apply, please notice that the files you are not talking like
J2EERTOS16_1, is part of the J2EE support package stack, which can be applied with JSPM.
Regarding the kernel, you can alway refer to note 19466, and downlaod the lastest kernel from:

Hi.
I am developing an SAP Mobile 7.1 (OCA) application using:
SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Composition Environment SP11 PAT0000
Build id: 201011031812
I get the runtime exception shown below from time
to time when using the simulator that comes with NWDS, meaning, that,
sometimes I can work on my code, re-deploy it and run it without
problems, then suddenly it comes out again with no apparent reason when
I execute the mobile application. This is different when I run the
application on the device (which previously used to run fine), now get
the exception everytime
I know that the exception comes out when the application tries to make
a new instance of the service component that is defined internally as a
private static final object.
The server is NW 7.1 SP11

Console errors on startup OS X Snow Leopard Server, log files and pkgutil
I have OS X Snow Leopard Server running and there are a number of annoying console messages at startup and subsequent to that. A group of them appear to be related to write permissions for log file (last group). Not so sure about 1-3 below, if they are just warnings or something to worry about.
1. 2/14/10 12:56:56 PM com.apple.emailrules1292 /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/Extras/lib/python/zope /_init_.py:1: UserWarning: Module twisted was already imported from /usr/share/caldavd/lib/python/twisted/_init_.pyc, but /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/Extras/lib/python is being added to sys.path
2. 2/14/10 12:56:56 PM com.apple.emailrules1292 2010-02-14 12:56:56-0600 [-] /usr/share/caldavd/lib/python/twisted/mail/smtp.py:10: exceptions.DeprecationWarning: the MimeWriter module is deprecated; use the email package instead
3. 2/14/10 12:57:00 PM com.apple.wikid1294 /usr/share/caldavd/lib/python/calendarserver/tap/caldav.py:49: DeprecationWarning: mktap and related support modules are deprecated as of Twisted 8.0. Use Twisted Application Plugins with the 'twistd' command directly, as described in 'Writing a Twisted Application Plugin for twistd' chapter of the Developer Guide.
4. Several related to permissions for writing to log files it appears:
2/14/10 12:57:02 PM com.apple.passwordreset1295 2010-02-14 12:57:02-0600 [-] Failed to load application: Errno 13 Permission denied: '/Library/Logs/passwordreset/debug.log'
2/14/10 12:56:57 PM com.apple.emailrules1292 Failed to load application: Errno 13 Permission denied: '/Library/Logs/emailrules/debug.log'
2/14/10 12:57:01 PM com.apple.wikid1294 IOError: Errno 13 Permission denied: '/Library/Logs/wikid/error.log'
The pkgutil also gives a bunch of errors at startup related to Office 2008 files.

Error during startup of portal service after SPS11
Hi Guys,
After installation of SPS11 to our 2004s portal system we have problem with startup of our Portal service.
Before SPS11 we had SPS9 system and everything was working correctly.
Our service is connecting to Database during its initialization.
This is part of our code:
Properties p = new Properties();
p.put("java.naming.factory.initial", "com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl");
try
Context ctx = new InitialContext(p);
_ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup(POOLNAME);
Connection conn = _ds.getConnection();
conn.close();
LogWriter.traceInfo(LogWrapper.trace,"Connection established.");
} catch (NamingException ex)
The error is:

The probleam appears only during startup of portal!
If you deploy service on running portal it is started without any problems.
We tried to apply note (Note 960199 - 2-Phase Init Mechanism for Portal Services is Deprecated) but without success.
This is modification of our portalapps.xml as described in Note.
<service name="StatemanagementLogService">
<service-config>
<property name="className" value="cz.sap.statemanagement.StatemanagementLogService"/>
<property name="startup" value="true"/>
<property name="twophaseinit" value="always"/>
</service-config>
Please could you help us with this problem?
Anyone has an idea what is wrong?
Thanks a lot
OndrejHi Nirmal,
thanks you for your quick response. This is what the installer returns when I use your suggested command:
Mar 7, 2012 2:35:56 PM [Error]: The parameter jce_policy_zip in externally supplied configuration is invalid.
I looked up the parameters for the STARTUP:
rootdir [guiport] [httpport] [guistart] [guimode] [config] [sid] [instanceNr]
Thus the jce_policy_zip is not a valid parameter.
However, after deleting the file specified I could just run STARTUP again and this worked.
Thanks
Marcel

Fan error at startup in ibm thinkpad t42
i always get fan error at startup in my ibm thinkpad t42 since 1 week. i press esc key at error and that is the only way my system startup. its not in warranty and will like to try to fix it on my own. please help. i am worried
Try bblowing some air into the fan lover when the system is off. Then turn the system on and put your hand at the louver to see if it blows air. If this doesnt work, run PC doctor for DOS ( available at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-56222) and check the problem. If this doesnt work either, replace the fan.

Error in Control Framework: Background job failed
Hi Experts,
One background job failed with job log: Error in Control Framework in ECC 6.0 system; the job is supposed to produce a XML report. Can anyone please give some idea on this why it could happen? One SAP note 893534 has described same kind of issue but in CRM system. That note even cant be implemeneted in ECC 6.0. Any workaround? Is it a BASIS issue here?
Thanks & Regards,
SKBHello,
please check the variant. We had this problem, and when checking the variant I got a shortdump because the variant did not fit to the program (there were problems with subscreens in the selection screen). After adjusting the variant with program RSVARDOC_610 the variant was ok.
I can not check if this solved the problem because the job runs weekly, and the next job is on Monday. But give it a try...

Visual C++ runtime error on startup audition cs5.5 win8.1
After reinstalling Audition cs5.5, I get a visual C++ runtime error at startup. I have never had a problem before on a reinstallation. I have tried uninstall and reinstall without any success. Is their a version of Visual C++ that is needed here? Is this an incompatibility problem with Win 8.1? Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't had any luck in the FAQ section.
The only issues I've ever heard about involving this appear to have been caused by having too many versions of the run-time on a machine. I'm not entirely sure what the situation with software only running properly with the version it was intended to is, but apparently clearing out older versions (you can check this out and remove them if you want using the normal uninstall routine) has fixed this particular problem on at least one occasion. It's worth investigating, anyway.

Hi All,
I created a webdynpro development. In that all applications are working fine. One button i added and click of that it will download all the attachments corresponding to the sales order and it will place the attachments in desktop folder.
I written all the code in one function module and in the method i associated this function module.
If i debug this, this is working fine. when i click the download button, it shows the error - error in control framework
Any body has any idea about it?
Regards,
Vinoth.Hi VinothKumar,
Did u tried running the method directly. There also u are not getting any error means, you have to check the code in wda where you created the method for that class.
If you are using the fm directly inside the method of wda, then you have to debug step by step in wda.

How do I solve this problem???Hello,
Your error message is related to GUI_DOWNLOAD, which is a frontend function.
You simply cannot use it in background, because it puts a file on the
frontend PC where you start the function (WS = WorkStation).
Note that GUI_DOWNLOAD is intendted to be used for dialog user
and will not run at BACKGROUND.

Hello,
Please note, I could not fit the entire post in one entry...had to do it in 3
I am getting numerous errors on startup of the weblogic server. Given that I followed the instructions to a T (Quick Start Guide for Oracle® SOA Suite 11gR1 (11.1.1.5.0)) . I am on windows 7.
(and even installed and re-installed weblogic several times), and re-created the domains it is just a little frustrating that SOA doesn't work right out of the box.
Near the end of the log file it does say
SOA Platform is running and accepting requests
However, just below it says:
line 6:12 mismatched character '<EOF>' expecting '"'
line 3:12 mismatched character '<EOF>' expecting '"'
And above throughout there are a huge number of warnings.
<Sep 29, 2012 7:13:16 PM EDT> <Warning> <EJB> <BEA-010001> <While deploying EJB 'B2BInstanceMessageBean', class oracle.tip.b2b.j2ee.ejb.interfaces.IB2BInstanceMessageLocalHome was loaded from the system classpath. What is going wrong?
Thank you for your help.
