Error save archive on Desktop
Hi People! I have one eMac with MacOS 10.4.10 and some times occur an error when saving something in the Desktop. With any program that I am using, when saving the work in the Desktop, the archive duplicates automatically and the archives previously stored are lost. Somebody knows what it can be this? Thanks.
Hi msribeir, Welcome to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
That is the way 'save' using 'cmd s' or see it under file has always worked.
If you want to keep both the old and the new versions then use 'save as' also under file or use 'shift cmd s' I believe.

Cannot print anything from internet using Firefox as browser. Please advise. I have to use Firefox for internet college courses, cannot print my assignments. I do not have this problem on Mac or using Internet Explorer. Only happens when using Firefox. When I select print a message comes up to save information to desktop as .xps file. Hi, a "General error"appears on my Final Cut Project when I try to save it. I read in this Community that the solution could be save on the desktop. It works, but how could I solve it in my External HD?
Is the external formatted to Mac OS Extended?
Right click the external icon on the Desktop and select Get Info.
This will tell you the current format.

System error when archiving a photo/file
Hi Experts,
here we are using EP 7, and MAXDB 7 as backend and SAP content server AIX 5.3, apache 1.3, when we are checking in SAP content server srkp09, we tested all 3 possibilities like single test, multiple test, and runtime test all the tests are successful, as part of portal side for a employees chnage own data we are trying to attach a photo ->Review and save -> we getting message attachment save to Database. !System error when archiving a photo. please advice how to rectify this problem ? is this is part of content server issue or portal issue.

Thanks for ur reply. But I have already gone through the steps. I can see the picture from R3 and store it there. But the problem is in ESS (portal). I can't store it from ESS as the address it going to store is <R3 hostname>:8000/fp/bc/contentserver........The actual should be <R3 hostname>:8001/fp/bc/contentserver........
Plz suggest me where from it take the value 8001 in portal for employee pic. For all other T-iview working fine. Telnet to 8000 is not possible, but 8001 is ok.

Preferences Error Could not load Desktop
MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012) OS X Yosemite when trying to access my screensaver and desktop, I keep getting the following
Preferences Error Could not load Desktop & Screen Saver preference pane.
Any suggestions?
ThanksClose all windows and quit all applications.
Hold the option key down and click the "Go" menu in the Finder menubar.
Select "Library" from the dropdown, then "Preferences" folder.
Look for these three files.

in the firefox settings i chose the option of saving downloads in desktop instead of always asking me where to save. but, no matter what i do, i always get the save window when i want to download something, the default is always "open with" instead of "save file" and it doesn't allow me to chose the option to repeat the save for the same kind of file from now on. so, every time i download something i have to click in "save file" and "ok", but in the settings i have "save files in desktop", so i don't get it! why can't it be memorized?

You can also try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window. -
Print to PDF only saves to the desktop
When I try to "Print to PDF" it gives be the dialogue box to tell the program where to save the file. I can pick any location I wish but when I click save; the file is not there...unless I tell it to save to the desktop. I have tried adjusting the properties but nothing I can find will allow it to save the file anywhere but the desktop. This only started happening after installing one of the latest Adobe software upgrades. Is there anything I can do to fix this? It's incredibly inconvenient to save everything to my desktop, then go move the file where it's supposed to go later.
I have just tried Print to PDF from Word 2010 (on Windows 7 with Acrobat XI), and I had no problem whatsoever to place the result into my Documents folder.
Could it be a permission problem on your target folders?
P.S. does Save as PDF have the same problem? -

I have just upgrade the creative cloud CC version and upgrade the acrobat pro to XI version.
when I convert a pdf file to word format, it show the error "Save As failed to process this document. No file was created."
Actually, I have delete the image, use other pdf file and download a sample pdf file to test it. Same error is shown. I have try all the other format , like the excel, rtf, text, powerpoint, still same thing happen.
Please show me what else I can do to fix this problem.

Set Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. When I want to save the file in WORD, EXCEL or esporta file into ... immediately throws an error "save as failed to process this document no file was created".

But all good saves in the format of TXT and jpg.
I have uninstalled and restored and re-installed and updated and registry cleaned and removed using the special utility Cleaner Tool for Acrobat, but nothing helps.
On one notebook with Windows 8.1 and Microsoft office 2013, on another laptop with Windows 7 and Microsoft office 2010, the same problem, although there are computers with Windows 7 and Microsoft office 2010 and everything works.
Tell me where to find the problem and how to solve it.
