Error Scheduling Crystal Report to save to Unmanaged Disk destination

When trying to schedule a Crystal Report to save to an "Unmanaged Disk" destination using the "Plain Text" format, and using the "Run Now" option, I receive the following error message  "Error Message: Invalid export options. D:\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\OUT-PHOENIX.reportjobserver\~tmp17105a42ccb5ae4.rpt"  I have enabled "Unmanaged Disk" capabilities within the ReportJobServer thru the CMC, and I have stopped and started the service.  I still receive the error message...Help!

Hi Karla,
do you have any service packs installed on your BOBJ server? Does your destination folder reside on a network drive?

  • Failed to schedule crystal report

    Hi,
We are using BO XI R3.1 and I am trying to schedule a crystal report in CMC in pdf format which contains parameters. After the schedule the error message am getting was Error in File ~tmp29bc61e513637d0.rpt: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 2812 ]
I've also checked if there is an issue with servers and all of them are running.
However when i try to view the report manually by giving the parameters it ran fine and i was able to see the report.
Could any one please advise me what could be the issue i really appreciate your help on this regard.
    Thanks,
    Eswar

Well exporting a report from the viewer to pdf and scheduling to pdf both use the same conversion driver.  I can't say I've ever seen a difference in formatting when scheduling vs exporting from InfoView after a view.  Is it possible you are comparing the results from the CR designer and exporting to pdf vs scheduling to pdf?
    Do this:
1.) open the report in the CR Designer on the server machine. Refresh it and export to pdf and save the file.
2.) open the same report you published to the CMS and view from InfoView.  Refresh it and make sure to use the same exact parameter values you did in #1.  Export to pdf and save the document with a different name.
3.) schedule the same report to pdf & unmanaged disk destination using the same parameter values in #1.
Compare all 3 files.  Are they still different? They should all be identical reports assuming the data on the db side didn't change between refreshes.  Using the same parameter values is important because this can change the data as well as the formatting you've designed the report with.  If you're still getting blank pages or the output files are different in any way, you'll probably want to open a support ticket.   Someone in support can help you compare files, formatting and the make sure the version you are using doesn't have a regression.

  • Can not view/schedule Crystal Reports in new BOE XI 3.0 Installation

    Hello,
I'm having an issue on a brand new installation of BusinessObjects XI 3.0 on AIX 5.2 (using WebSphere 6.0). Installation went smoothly and migration went fine. Can log in, pull up CMC, InfoView (all other apps). But scheduled Crystal Reports (as well as viewing Crystal Report thru InfoView) are failing with the following errors (which to me seem interrelated):
*(1) Error in File ~cec0c55d91e0e015.rpt: The request could not be submitted for background processing*
*(2) Error in Report XXX: Failed to load database information*
*(3) An error occurred while creating a subprocess in the processing server. [RCIRAS0604]*
These three errors indicate to me that the report engines are having issues opening the files, pulling the data and generating the reports. We've checked to make sure that the account that BOE is running under has all the permissions it needs - and it has.
I just turned on tracing (-trace) on the report job processing servers and I'm watching the logs as I retrace my steps...
Any ideas? Would appreciate any feedback...
    Thanks,
    Will

Turns out this is a pretty nasty issue on Unix environments. Being that the BOE application is developed on Windows then ported to Unix environments, the services (daemons) still end up depending on an emulated registry (MainWin) sort of like in a Windows environment.
For some reason (we're still trying to figure this out), the BOE registry entries got corrupted and then started preventing the processing servers (which in the case of CR ultimately depend on  CRPE - Crystal Reports Print Engine) from opening up and processing CR files.
We engaged BusinessObjects/SAP support and have been able to resolve this issue on our test AIX system. The resolution included deleting all the mainwin (mw) tmp directories and files in the root temp directory and also in the
    /bobje/enterprise120/aix_rs6000/crpe>
directory. Then we stopped all BOE services and reran the MW script to regenerate registry entries. This repair was a pretty intricate multi-step process. The SAP Technical Rep who worked on this case is writing a knowledge base article (an SAP note). Once I get details, I'll update this post.
The good news about this issue is that the upcoming SP1 of XI 3.0 removes the dependency on the mw registries...

  • How to do Scheduling Crystal Reports?

    Hi All,
I request any one of you, to let me know how to schedule Crystal Reports. I am unable to find any option in Crystal Report Designer.
Please list if any step by step procedure on scheduling crystal reports(lets say hourly, or weekly and save the crystal report with data).
And also any idea on how to maintain crystal reports instances?
    Thanks in advance !

There are actually a dozen or so tools out there that can schedule Crystal Reports.  The two mentioned here are SAP products. For a complete list of third-party scheduling products (ranging from free to several thousand dollars) you can go here:
    http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html
There are even a few more at the high end that will be added to that page in the next month or so.  I am currently working on a feature comparison for scheduling engines for my March newsletter.

  • Internal error publishing Crystal report to BOE 3.1

Trying to add a Crystal report to a BOE 3.1 server, via a JSP page, but it keeps failing with an internal error.  Currently I am using code that came directly from a published example, but the jsp always fails when it gets to the boInfoStore.commit.
    Current error message is
An internal error occurred. An error was encountered. A description of the error
    is as follows:
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.managedreports.reportadd.internal.b: Adding
Crystal Report "TestUpload.rpt" failed. An internal error occurred.
I searched extensively and found people with similar errors due to version errors in required jar files, but I have checked extensively and I am sure all the jar files are in sync with the server, which is 3.1 SP6.
When I take the exact same java code and copy it into a program object, I can run it successfully, it just won't run when called from jsp.  Any suggestions?
A copy of the test jsp page is attached.

    Hello Benjamin,
Please try the attached sample to publish a crystal report to enterprise.
Convert the attached text file to JSP & do the necessary changes in the sample & if you want you can also add multiple crystal report path from your local disk in the code to publish in the enterprise in one go.
    Hope this help.

  • Vista/Adobe 9/sql image Error in Crystal Report:Failed to Export the Report

When I try to export my Crystal Report (v2008) from a Vista machine (using Crystal RDC export methods) as a PDF, I get the following error:
Error in Crystal Report:  Failed to export the report.
This only happens when a particular subreport (that contains a sql image) prints (based on an input parameter).  We have other subreports (within this same report) that print a sql image just fine.  But, when this subreport prints, the above error appears.
I can run the same report on an XP machine without error.
Exportmodeller.dll and crtsv.dll are both installed and registered to the
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\bin folder
I have tried opening the report, removing the image, and then adding it back in again to the subreport.
    Still receive the same error.
    Any suggestions?

    Don,
    Can you please clarify?
Our VB6 app that uses Crystal XI RDC runtime components.  Our Crystal reports are edited in CR2008 SP1 developer edition (not through the VB.NET embedded report designer).  We have deployed the CRXIRelease 2 runtime components (via the merge module) to our client machines in order to execute the RDC.
We can print/preview/export to excel, but the pdf creation is failing with this error.
We are only using the RDC (which we know is no longer supported) because of huge issues with the Crystal for .NET methods we are having with our customers (I have an active case for this issue).  Therefore, we have to rollback our .NET product and revert to the RDC code.
Vista is failing to create a PDF for a report developed in the CR2008 SP1 developer edition when using the RDC.
When you say  "Also, those old dll's will not work in CR 2008. Last patches will give you the option to export to Excel in Legacy mode. We built it into our export dll.", what do you mean by "will not work in CR2008"?
    Thank you

  • Error deploying Crystal Report XI R2 to Enterprise - Failed to read paramet

Error deploying Crystal Report XI R2 to Enterprise - Failed to read parameter object.
I know this issue has been addressed several times and the solution recommended was to install Service Pack 2. I have done that. It started working for me too; however recently I got some error saying some UDF***.DLL is missing. I re-installed Crystal Reports XI R2 and Service Pack 2. Unfortunately though, this error is back. I have restarted the machine n number of times but keep on getting this error.
My report file has dynamic parameters defined through command object (SQL Query). My understanding is that once I publish the report to BoE Enterprise, BO will create LOVs and BV's in the repository. Now that is not happening.
has any one else had this issue before and resolved it?
    Thanks

    Hi,
do you export your CR report in your BOBJ repository using an account with administrator rights?

  • How to Resolve Join Syntax Errors in Crystal Reports 11.5

Weu2019re upgrading form Crystal Reports Runtime Client 10.0 to 11.5.  I have a registry fix that resolves the join syntax errors in Crystal Reports 10.0 by updating the registry key:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Crystal Decisions\10.0\Crystal Reports\Database\QueryBuilder\JoinBuilder]
    "SQLServerJoinBuilder"="adbc"
What is the fix for Crystal Runtime 11.5?

  • Schedule Crystal Reports on BOE with Parameters

    Hi
I would like to schedule Crystal reports with parameters on BOE. How can I pass a parameter if the job is scheduled to run nightly?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello!
I am going to assume that you know how to schedule a report to run nightly and how to set the parameters/prompts, and what you are really asking is how to change what the parameter/prompt value will be every night?
If that is the case there is no default functionally that can do that.  How ever you could create a Java application (or another supported programming language) application that will run as a Program Job Object.  The PGO (Program Job Object) will be what is scheduled nightly.  Inside the  PGO you would schedule your report to "run now" with the parameters/prompts you want for that night.
I hope I have answered your question.  Cheers!
